Would you recommend these? This one and ages I mean.

I haven't played em. I was never interested for whatever reason. How are they and why are they two different games?

Anybody?

Seasons and Ages are actually completely different games. Different dungeons, bosses, mechanics, and plot. What's neat is that they'll serve as the sequel to the other (it doesn't matter the order).

It's just more LA with less clunkiness

Played the snot out of Seasons when I was younger. Later learned that Ages is basically 2D OoT.

They're great fun if you've never played a Zelda game and I highly recommend them. If you've already gone through the formula though, there's nothing new here.

maybe its just the nostalgia talking (but its not because i replay them all the time) but ages and seasons are two of my favorite games of all time

I just started playing this game for the first time a few days ago.

It's pretty addicting. I don't think it lives up to the hype that was around it a few years ago though. Thoughts on this game?

Oops, did not mean to post that here.

I played both, ended up liking Seasons more but both are definitely worthy of a play through.

Seasons has a map that changes through 4 different seasons and Ages has a map that switches between past and present. You can get codes from each game to unlock content in the opposite version. They are fairly distinct games, it's not something like the Pokemon versions and small monster differences. The entire dungeons, bosses, gear, etc is different with only a bit of carryover. I personally liked Link's Awakening better but these are still really enjoyable. Play them if you like Zelda at all.

Play both twice.

Yes. They are fucking AWESOME. I rated them both in the top 5 Zeldas (as a pair). Play them immediately. Seasons is easier.

The frustrating part about Zelda games is the lack of story continuity. They do a really good job in-game of heightening the tension and raising the stakes over what the villains are doing but it's all so self-contained that you feel betrayed by the time you've beaten both twice and realized there are no long-term consequences for LITERALLY ANYONE.

Great games, brought down only by the shitty dance mini games.

that wonderful credits sequence was enough for me

Story continuity is how you get bullshit like dragon ball z because a continuous story has to keep raising the stakes. Mario doesn't have it either, it's kind of silly to even think about the stories enough to try to connect them.

They are pretty good imo, if you liked Link's awakening you will like these two games too, don't forget to use the password system when you beat ages or seasons before playing the next one.

If you liked loz awakening, the oracle series are the ultimate swan song to 2D era zelda. Think of the games as the 2D golden age of the series- strong plot development and enhancements to practically everything in 2D zelda's thus far.

most heart and flavor of the 2D zeldas by far. the dungeon atmosphere and music is fantastic

Yeah, that shit is annoying.

There's something about Seasons/Ages and Link's Awakening that I just love. Can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but I feel like I can always just drop into the world there. It's alien enough to be intriguing and comfortable enough to not be worrisome. Fucking word diarrhea.

I'd def. recommend them. They're really solid Zeldas. I mean, it's Zelda on the GBC, so don't expect a fully expansive experience, but it's still an extremely satisfying amount of content and a really solid game.

And Ages/Seasons isn't like Pokemon Red/Blue. They're totally separate, independent games that can continue on into each other (depending on which you start first).

So, I say go for it.
