Hyped for disappointment, I literally expect nothing from Nintendo anymore, if they surprise us with actual good shit, I'd be happy.

Environmental puzzles are why I play Zeldas, and on that front I've enjoyed most of the entries. In fact, environmental puzzles and world design play such a huge part in what I enjoy from them that I liked PH and SS and was extremely disappointed with WW.

If ZU/ZX (zuh-zz) turns out to be Skyward Sword but with actual fucking exploration (as in, not the half-assed "exploration" that WW and TP had) and lessons learned to not hold hands too much, I'll be happy.

Also isn't Monolith Soft doing world design? I remember hearing that they regularly do that with Zeldas since their acquisition by Nintendo. This in turn makes me think: Well, Xenoblade X had a fucking fantastic world, and they've got HD development experience from that under their belt now, so I can imagine ZU/ZX at least being enjoyable on the world design front.

Really, there's a lot of possibilities. I hope they don't fuck it up. This is Nintendo's big chance to win back some respect for the Zelda series. Earlier reveals have been... inoffensive, so far. Implementing SotC navigational horse AI is a point in their favour that they may actually have their belts strapped tight and sleeves rolled up this time. They've got points for originality on the Link design, and the aesthetic of the weaponry and the robot from the trailer make me hopeful.

If they can do this entry justice, then they may start to convince people that not all is lost. I'd even wager that a sentiment like "Nintendo's still got it!" will crop up during E3 if the treehouse showing goes well.

Eh. This announcement sucked a lot of fun out of E3 for me. Sony almost always has a showing of blatantly lying trailers and MS almost never impresses me. Nintendo and 3rd parties is why I care about E3 and even though I'm a huge Zeldafag, I didn't even realize E3 was less than 3 weeks away.

Nintendo IS NoA. The North American market is their single biggest market by a sizeable margin, and they're not going to let a bunch of dirty gaijin make or break their company. Nintendo probably takes input from NoA about what North American sensibilities are and then they make decisions based on that. What's left at NoA is nothing more than manpower that follows orders.

The game is sent to the Treehouse for analysis, they send the bill for what needs to be altered or cut and get paid accordingly.
