Classic weapons mod, pip boy 2000, classic music, classic ui sounds. I don't remember the exact names of most of that shit, but it's great stuff if you played the original. It also makes sense that the game would be that way seeing as it takes place right next to where the old games did.

I'm fine now. Someone just bought my game. That's another half hour of life and youth.

Every area is considered dangerous. Simply walking around with companions is dangerous because bumping into them at all while sneaking instantly alerts whatever is around you. Having characters like ED-E and Rex on the lowest alert and aggro settings helps absolutely nothing since they'll still bolt after everything, and ED-E especially loves bumping into you as you're sneaking. Then comes keeping the fuckers alive when they already die in a handful of hits outside of something like 8 CHR on the base game.

Companions are a detriment, especially in mods where damage is increased.

and then you are left with almost no combat skills whatsoever to work with when the low levels are the ones where you're in dire need of them to be able to survive unless you just do the easiest, combat free quests.

I tried to make a new vegas thread earlier but no one replied so I'm just going to post what I was saying in this thread;
I recently played through all the dlc and this is the only objectively true ranking
Old World Blues > Dead Money >> Lonesome Road >>>>>>>> Honest Hearts

It's a mode where everything is hostile, doing normal quests is impossible, everything can kill you in 5 hits or less, you have extremely limited inventory and everything is just generally hard for no reason.

I just hated honest hearts so much. Like I thought I was gunna do cool caravan shit but then the whole caravan died and I just had to go fuck with stupid tribals for a few hours. And I was expecting a lot more from the park. It was just disappointing.

Joshua Graham and the Survivalist make that DLC. I agree it's the worst of the DLC, but it's still good. I fucking loved crawling over Zion and finding Survivalist caches so I could uncover his story.

I felt the same way, but Joshua Graham and the survivalist superman the entire DLC into being good.

We should've been able to take follows chalk with us and he should've been given dialogue to cover the entire main game along with a quest where as he travels he can come to embrace his new world or return to zion at it's conclusion.

But both companies have stated that they'd be open to working together again. Why would Bethesda not? They have to contribute very little and they make money. Bethesda doesn't give two shits how well New Vegas did versus their titles. The only thing that would matter to them are shit like reviewer scores -- though both Fallout 3 and 4 received higher ratings than NV so your point is moot.

Bethesda is not going to come out and say they don't want to work with obsidian again. I'm sure they're very happy with the money they made and with the game they released. From a marketing perspective, it's probably better for them to keep the releases far apart. Fallout's a much bigger IP these days.

I should probably go back through and re-explore everything. I was just so turned off by the setting I rushed through it mostly.
