>we want you to choose gear based on ilvl for pvp rather than secondary stats, so in pvp we choose your secondary stats for you so you won't be able to tinker to your desire
>we feel that earning pvp currency is a linear and bland experience, so now gear will be randomly given after every win you get in pvp.
>we want people to be able to the same gear for pvp and pve so there won't be anything like a change in ilvl
jesus are these guys fucking retarded? so if im a pvper i will have to suffer through a rng system were as a raider will have a much easier time getting gear that they can use to outpace pvpers. on top of that they will choose your stats for you.
>One of the big changes in Legion is that gear will no longer be delivered through PvP currencies and vendors. Of course, we know a lot of players like the predictable nature of buying gear from vendors. They can select exactly the item they want and never receive an item they don’t want. It sounds like a perfect situation, but it is also an emotionally flat, predictable experience. There is no anticipation about what your reward will be. No exhilaration when you get something you want. No disappointment when you get something you don’t. We want to bring that emotional experience to PvP rewards—while still doing our best to minimize the amount of disappointment you experience.
Elijah Robinson
>so if im a pvper i will have to suffer through a rng system were as a raider will have a much easier time getting gear that they can use to outpace pvpers except PVE players already have to suffer through an RNG system to get gear, but only a weekly lockout. This sounds like it will make getting PVP gear faster.
James Price
Of course, I know Blizzard likes the predictable nature of charging my credit card the monthly subscription. They always receive the exact amount the monthly fee is and never receive less. It sounds like a perfect situation, but it is also an emotionally flat, predictable experience. There is no anticipation about how much my next payment will be. No exhilaration when they receive the monthly subscription fee in full. No disappointment when they receive lesser amount. I want to bring that emotional experience to Blizzard subscription—while still doing my best to minimize the amount of disappointment Blizzard will experience.
When Legion arrives I will coordinate a new way of payment with my credit card company. Each month, Blizzard has a chance of receiving the exact fee for the monthly subscription. There is also a small chance they will receive a titanforged version of my subscription, in the form of 3 month subscription at once. However there is also a very high chance of Blizzard receiving a very small portion, instead of the full amount of subscription and sometimes, they might even receive no subscription fee at all. In this case, they will receive one piece of hard candy, that has a very low chance of having a smiley face wrapper in it. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to improve my monthly payment situation for World of Warcraft. I appreciate hearing Blizzard's thoughts about these changes, so be sure to send your comments straight to my shredder.
essentially their argument.
Andrew Wright
This is seriously the worst case of "out of touch" devs I've ever seen. Legion needs to fail hard, they need a wake up call
Dominic Jackson
you think I'm subbed currently? fuck no. I just montior whats going on because I hope that one day wow will be great again.
Ryder Stewart
I lol'd.
How do I upboat on this site? :)
srslydoethatshitwashilarious.
James Parker
No you're just an idiot.
THe rng system means nothing. In legion your stats during pvp from the new templates. You raise stats from ilvl and nothing else. So you might get random peices with randm stats, which you'll have to deal with in pve, but only ilvl matters for the template boost in pvp.
It's pretty simple to understand but as usual the idiots cry about it.
If you go for pve gear first, you are limited to drops per week from raid bosses. So you're pvp ilvl will be lower.
If you go for pvp gear first you can get drops more often but the rng will prevent you from be optimized in pve.
Either way it puts you at a minor disavantage if you only do one side and then hop into the other.
Of course no one here will be able to do any better and will cry because they aren't being handed free epics with perfect stats from pvp anymore.
Caleb Martin
how is that any better?
>here is your gear with your assigned stats. >you will play with the stats we tell you to play with and thats it.
James Thomas
Underrated
Ayden Turner
lol
Nicholas Price
>you will play with the stats we tell you to play with and thats it.
Because what previous pvp gear had worked properly? resilence, pvp defence/power and ilvl scaling has all flopped. Allowwing some classes to stack certian stats, while nice, also made them far too strong.
The template at least puts everything on blizzards shoulders for tweaking. So now tanks can pvp without having insane defence stats and healers won't be unkilliable unless 5 people are chain CCing them.
Is it perfect? Not likely. But it does balance out raiders getting too high ilvl from mythics vs pvpers taking a day in arena to be fully geared in heroic level raid gear.
Jackson Lewis
>jesus are these guys fucking retarded?
What was your first hint?
Logan Gray
>2016 >still playing blizzard games
Anthony Scott
Oh don't worry it will. They're removing so many abilities for classes if you're not a specific spec and they aren't offering any alternatives. I think spell reflect is completely gone for warriors too. Mages can't cast spells outside of their spec and shed tears for the once mighty rogue, for it may as well be dead.
Brayden Johnson
>raiders dont deal with an RNG system

Miss us yet?
Jaxson Taylor
No. MoP wasn't bad, but it overstayed its welcome much more than any other expansion has.
Kayden Watson
no, the garbage LFR system from MoP is back
Nathan White
does gear even matter? i thought they said that it didn't matter anymore
Asher Richardson
it matters less
Nicholas Thompson
Spell reflect is not gone from warriors mages can still cast out of spec spells
Kevin Evans
>i like wod lfr m'lady
Lincoln Young
they said in the article the difference of output can be estimated with ilvl. If my ilvl is 10 higher than yours I will have a 1% higher output than you. 100 ilvl difference = 10% higher output, etc.
so it means a really really small difference.
Brody Collins
Blizzard doesnt give a shit what you think about LFR when youre grinding gametime every minth anyways, and the nonvocal casuals get loot they want pating 15/mo.
LFR does nothing but hurt your retarded feelings. Too bad.
Jason Sanders
Power goes up by .01% per ilvl from 800
Cooper Cooper
And fuck over other content. Why do professions, reputations, dungeons, etc. when LFR gear is faster, easier and stronger
kill yourself
WoD LFR is shit since its still above heroic dungeon ilvl. It needed to be 620 from Highmaul to 645 HFC
Adrian Brooks
Legion beta general seems to say otherwise on spell reflect. If it's prot exclusive then that's even worse because prot warriors make the least use of it. And being able to cast polymorph still does not count as being able to cast spells outside of your spec.
Brandon Stewart
i thought power was mostly dependent on the stats the gear itself gave you and how well your spec scales with it? or did they remove things like haste and crit too
Christian Hall
Blizzard controls what the stats on the gear are retard
Joseph Nguyen
they may as well not even have gear if thats the only difference. you would have to be a couple seasons behind to notice any gap in power.
top ladder arena players will only 1-3% difference between honor bg players
Aaron Baker
>And fuck over other content.
Bullshit. Raid gear was always better than everything else. Youre just mad nonNEETs can get it in LFR so youre throwing a tantrum like the manchild you are
>kill yourself after you
Parker Sanchez
All gear in pvp is scaled to 800ilvl in PvP every ilvl above 800 makes buffs your pvp specific stats by .01% yes there is still Haste and Crit Spell reflect is a PvP talent
Robert Richardson
read the other posts or the article m8. blizzard said they want you to choose your gear based on ilvl, not stats. you won't be able to choose if you want more haste and to sacrifice crit strike.
they will choose how much haste and crit you get based on your spec and your ilvl.
Jackson Gutierrez
i understand that. however, how do they know what % of haste or crit or whatever matters more to certain classes over others? say an enhance shaman scales really well with haste, but most of their gear is given crit or something. and say frost mages scale better with haste as well, but they get more haste in their gear, thus scaling better.
this is purely talking from a pve damage standpoint too, god forbid the mental gymnastics they'll have to do to balance pvp from what they've done to it
Ryder Evans
>raid gear LFR is not raiding you fucking mongoloid, challenge dungeon gear should be above it and it wont be if LFR has set bonuses >you cant raid if you have a life meme fuck off
Grayson Ortiz
>pvp talent All the same, there's no point in stripping classes of 50% of their abilities and restricting them to a spec/pvp talents or making them into passives. All the shit my warrior knew how to do in wrath he just straight up forgot it I guess.
Nathan Lopez
i agree it should go >Normal dungeon >LFR >Heroic Dungeons >Normal Raid >Challenge Dungeons >Heroic Raid >Mythic Raid
Lucas Nelson

He's talking about it being a braindead waltz through an instance, not about it not being considered a raid.
Josiah Bennett
>Looking for keep looking, nothing in LFR feels like a raid
Jeremiah Cooper
now thats not true, LFR feels like a Zerg raid
Cooper Flores
Challenge dungeons were always meant as side tangent content. Now youre just deluding yourself and crying that casuals don't have to clear an accessibility gate forcing them to tolerate insufferable cunts like you. I'm glad for them.
Camden Kelly
PvP talents are gone for PvErs, so as a warrior in PvE I cant spell reflect anymore
same goes for Cyclone
Aiden Diaz
it's a raid in the way that microwave meals are cooking
Chase Scott
>defending casuals polluting the game neo-Sup Forums is real >challenge dungeons were meant as side content no, in legion they were stated to be a small group alternative to raiding. If their gear is outclassed by fucking LFR of all things then its a failure of design
Grayson Long
You're already playing with the stats you are indirectly given, because certain stats are better than others depending on spec.
Jackson Green
there has never been one instance in any raid that a warrior needed to spell reflect and i dare you to name me 5 ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY instances that he needed to in a raid interment
Jackson Morgan
Is it just the stats being randomised
Or will it actually be possible to have one or two slots left for upgrades that just never get them for weeks due to RNG
Dylan Scott
Cyclone has never been the Best PvE pick for raiding Ever. Cyclone has Always been a pick in PvP
Aiden Fisher
>need to I dont need to use my toolkit ever, somebody else can carry me
I want to, because I want to be a good player
Ryan Flores
My entire beef was them removing abilities and up until now, I was lead to believe spell reflect was gone. They are still stripping that ability from PvE and while it wasn't quite as useful there, it did have its uses. There a shit load of skills that were niche and having them there allows the game to be more complex than just autoattacking or slinging 1 spell til you get a proc and casting aoe when there's a 2nd enemy.
Andrew Ramirez
>defending ability pruning
Aiden Jenkins
The more and more I hear about Legion and WoW's current state the happier I am that I managed to break the addiction. Thank you Blizzard for making Cata so bad that I'm don't get to see these changes ingame
Wyatt Ramirez
who gives a shit about PvP? pvpers are the scum of the fucking earth >garrisons 2.0 fuck blizzard though

Only reason I came back was because I got MoP and Draenor for free. I subbed for one month and it has been a week and a half and I'm already bored.
Chase Robinson
Reliquary of Souls.
Kevin Bailey
well of course, this fucking patch is a year old (jesus christ), everyone's fucking done with it
Benjamin Kelly
I got the itch to play again. Haven't touched WoW since mid cata. Conflicted with my increasing disappointment of WoD and legion.
Blake Barnes
he said he just came back retard
the fact that you can feel done in a week and a half is depressing
Tyler Walker
I'm not defending it I'm just getting mad at people not saying that they are just combining abilities or moving them to where they are used in and instead out right saying they removed it completely.
Nathan Martin
>moving them to where they are used
EVERY ABILITY IN THIS GAME HAS A USE OUTSIDE OF PVP KILL YOURSELF
Leo Ross
well, good thing I don#t play pvp.
Cameron Taylor
"done" is relative in this case, he hasn't done any mythic raiding but still, it's going to be boring when there's no one else to play the fucking game with, it's an MMO
don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the game, just pointing out that blizzard has effectively been jerking off for a year
Anthony King
I said feel done
and when you clear an instance you feel like you finished it, multiple difficulties dont change that feeling
Daniel Lewis
yeah, the difficulty tiers is fucking stupid, I agree, LFR is cancer
Adam Hall
the normal heroic split is also pretty aids
Just go back to normal and heroic. normal is flexible, heroic is static size.
I dont need to run the raid on 3 difficulties before real progression. FUck that
Jacob Anderson
>Playing PVP seriously
Why? I remember it being a fun activity in vanilla that you did on the side. Fucking tryhards
Adrian Allen
I like how Blizzard have determined the most efficient methods possible to get people addicted to this shit. They'll be adding gear cases to the game soon enough.
Connor Jackson
fuck you
and yea, competitive minigamers are fucking retarded. "wahh character progression shouldnt matter in an RPG because muh arena"
Thomas Robinson
I'm hoping for straight up artifact boosts, so you don't have to grind in your new garrison to level it up.
Gavin Rogers
>determined They're determined to fuck up if they really believe this is an efficient method. They actually think their movie is going to bring in subs when a quick google search will show the movie has almost nothing in common with the game aside from the name. Plus they planned to make sequels. If they start selling gear for $ then it's all over.
Juan Nguyen
I'm a competitive minigamer and I think the best PvP gear in the game should come from raids. Not everyone is retarded like you or that one guy you know.
David Lopez
Yeah no. They've been nerfing skills in pvp for years. Skills like the reflect totem and sheild work on nothing nowadays.
Disarms were nerfed in pve real quick since it made bosses hit for nothing.
You never needed threat reductions after vaniilla since they kept boosting tank threat. They've been making more and more trash immune to various CC.
Honetly you're an idiot to think every single skill had a use.
Matthew Morgan
drones at this point are too cucked to care
>its not LITERALLY best in slot so why do you care >why does it bother you if I can buy full heroic gear? its my character and my money
Jose Gray
I'm in the legion beta ask me anything famalam
Blake Cox
Why can you get in but i can't
Elijah Martin
how is dk looking specifically blood and unholy
Matthew Lopez
>Abilities had uses >Until they removed those uses >Therefore it's ok for them to remove abilities and their uses
Levi Brown
>got legion alpha/beta months ago >haven't played it once >mfw I see someone complaining about wanting to play it and not getting in
Christian Russell
Reflecting glyph grounding totem is one of the strongest things in WoD CMs right now.
stop posting if you dont know what you are talking about
I dont have an issue with where the gear comes from, its not like Glad level rating is easy to reach (harder than mythic if they keep doing valor upgrades to boost guilds through progression)
But the fucking autism of everybody must be 100% equal gear wise in an RPG pisses me off. It doesnt need to be a huge gap but if I pour time into my character it needs to feel stronger
Does arcane blast still have the worst animation in game?
Thats how Blizzard justifies it :^)
Jace Jenkins
Are class halls really as bad as they look, or is the "garrisons 3.0" paranoia just that?
Jace Richardson
...
Dylan Green
Wait...I thought they were removing pvp gear entirely and switching to a similar system to the original guild wars?
Carson Hall
Unholy is pretty dope. Frost I think still is better and dumber to play which is quite sad. Although according to Preacers latest video Unholy is a better choice for min/maxing and getting the most out of it. Blood no idea but fucking broken atm in PvP (OP).
Class halls are pretty cool, but that initial feel wares off fast. it's literally just a place you go to so you can feed Artifact power to your weapon for extra talents, and to do garrison 2.0 shit. I'm not kidding.
No idea
Elijah James
All gear is scaled to 800 ilvl in pvp and every ilvl above 800 gives your pvp Specific stats a .01% buff
Bentley Phillips
Unholy still looks pretty boring desu
Noah White
>do garrison 2.0 shit. I'm really, really curious why Blizzard's so intent on doubling down on features people have had major issue with.
Joseph Jones
>mfw windwalker monk changes
Ryder Ramirez
They think they know better and then wonder why people quit the game in droves
Mason Young
>why does it bother you if I can buy full heroic gear? its my character and my money Yes, but that's a fair point. I'd rather shell out ten bucks than have to grind for apexis 2.0 just to be able to participate in the latest raid tier. Do you really not think dailies are absolute cancer? They require no skill whatsoever and just serve as a time sink to make sure neck beards can still feel 'elite' because the latest raid is arbitrarily gated by item level.
Personally, I don't pay for this sort of shit - ever. However, the best option would be for everything to potentially be for sale for gold on the auction house. Part of the reason why EVE has such a healthy and complex economy is because you can sell anything. WoW would benefit from the EVE system now that there's a much higher gold cap, and the autist tears would be delicious.
Zachary Richardson
They do know better in some regards. The recent changes they made to talent swapping in the beta and the flying mount situation in WoD shows that. The remaining """community""" pushes back so violently any time Blizzard tries to make these changes and bring WoW back to where it belongs though. When Blizzard is right, end up capitulating to the crybabies. When Blizzard is wrong, they just ignore feedback and continue to steer the game deeper into the ditch.
