I thought this game was supposed to be amazing? The combat system is so fucking bad. It's like some awkward pseudo-turn based bullshit where you occasionally click a button or two and sit there watching your character fight while you hope they don't roll poorly and miss their attacks.

Then you just quick save before every single encounter in case lol RNG fucks you over then rinse and repeat.

How is this fun exactly? Who thought this kind of combat was in any way shape or form acceptable?

At least SWTOR gave you more than 2 buttons to click.

Explore, take everything you can, decide to do things the good or the bad way, and build up your character how you want.

yeah, the combat is pretty clunky and weird but all that flies out of the window once you get fucking zap motherfuckers like a fly with your force lightning
it's still a good game regardless imotbqhwy

I think its acceptable, saving before evert encounter is retarded and people say its amazing because it pulls apart the philosiphy of the jedi and sith.
the guy who wrote the games (Drew Karpashin) is also a talented writer of star wars books and if you like star wars you should atleast check that out.
You filthy fucking casual

If you're playing RPGs for the combat you're doing it wrong
Also just level up force powers and wisdom

Nobody plays it for the combat

I know, right? Almost like it's based on d20 or something.

Who is the best companion and why is it Canderous?

>it's okay to have shit combat if it's based on some autistic text based game

You spelled HK-47 wrong.

You are the reason RPG's suck now OP. Thanks a lot

The old man is the best.

Worst implementation of it in vidya

>complaining that an RPG uses RPG systems

Go fucking play force awakens or something theb

>listening to what Sup Forums says
>ever
Sup Forums is wrong over 90% of the time. Or at least they used to be, before it got invaded with underage shitters.

KOTOR is fucking terrible. The story was ridiculously predictable, and the combat/UI was insanely clumsy and slow/awkward without any sort of modding. The characters are likable, at least. But that's really it.

This guy gets it.

I meant force unleashed fugg

Not OP, but the combat in KOTOR is so bad it actually detracts from the rest of the game. Combat in RPGs still needs to be passable. KOTOR's was an abortion.

The story is also a shit.

What was the secret to beating those droids in the Dantooine Star Map area anyway? I always spammed ion grenades and used ion blasters on them but they took ages to kill every single time.

was believable right up until
>At least SWTOR gave you more than 2 buttons to click.
That's clearly going overboard, tone it down a little, good buddy.

>millennials

first bioware game? they been making these "dice roll" bullshit since almost day one.

It would be a much better game if it had ass effect combat

When you're making a game and you don't give a damn about the combat system, why wouldn't you just clone a good one?

SW TOR indeed had better combat

The problem with TOR was that it was a shit MMO, but blasting through the stories with a friend is kinda fun, especially now that it's f2p

Infinity engine combat was good
Kotor combat was shit tier

SWTOR isn't an actual MMO. It's the third TOR game with 8 different story lines that just happens to be in an online universe.

I've spent hundreds of hours just playing through each of the different classes stories without ever interacting with another player. It's a shit MMO, but not a shit game.

The dark side choices saved this game, every quest turns into a bad soap opera.

>hey, I got an idea!
>okay, so get this: let's make a dialogue tree with choices, BUT...
>*everyone in conference room in suspense- now leaning in*
>EVERY CHOICE GIVES THE EXACT SAME RESULT!!!
>bioware employees leap from their chairs clapping and cheering, tears of joy streaming from their eyes
>ideaguy is praised and given huge bonus that could've been used to make your choices matter, or at least give different answers

>this piece of shit gets a 8/10 at gamespot(lol)

>Infinity engine combat was good
It was literally the same but 2D and with even less control. You don't even control your character, you give a command and hope that they feel like following it in a timely fashion (they don't).

>the usual "evil path" in crpgs
>game punishes you for acting with self interest in mind

One thing I dont like about KOTOR. I know its Star Wars aka fairytale in space but still, a little bit mature moral ambiguity when it comes to choices would benefit this game greatly instead of having obvious "holy shit im so evil kekekek".

I fucked up by playing kotor 2 first so how good is kotor 1 in terms of female companions that you can dominate/spoiler]

Comparatively, terrible, but it has a top-tier waifu DS ending

>he wants to dominate and not be dominated by his ice-queen Jedi Master gf

>playing with AI turned on

sounds like somebody either has shit taste or actually trusts Sup Forums when it comes to weebshit or AAA games

DELETE THIS THREAD

>the guy who wrote the games (Drew Karpashin) is also a talented writer of star wars books

Things that didn't happen

>you hope they don't roll poorly
What kind of unadulterated faggot are you?

You retarded m8
