It's actually pretty good and I normally hate first person melee games. But the parkour aspects are well done, the experience gain and character progression is also sensible. The loot is also reasonable. Great sense of being trapped in a city with zombies, but also being able to use your parkour skills to your advantage.

To be clear, the story wasn't terrible, it serves the purpose of moving you from point A to B, but some of the story and the quests don't make a ton of sense, and often feel like missed opportunities for multiple endings and more explanation, but overall, pretty fun game.

Bought Enhanced Edition yesterday in sale, high quality product, having lots of fun jumping from rooftops on trash bags. Starts slow, but gets fast soon.

Only got 5 h playtime but up to now it's 9/10 for me would buy again.

This is dead island done the right way.

I played this without having played Dead Island previously and it really is a much better game than it has any right to be. The parkour is actually fun and I played on hard mode so I was afraid of human enemies for about a quarter of the game and night time was always intense. Trying to sneak to safety, getting found and then dodging, ducking, diving, dipping, and dodging like a maniac never got old.

As a subjective bonus you don't become a super powered savior who can fell even the greatest of foes with a single swing until the game is very nearly over, and even then those tank charger guys fuck me up bad.

This is one of my favorite games for ps4. The voice acting is sooooo fucking bad, and the story has it's moments but isn't great by any means. That said, core game mechanics are tight as fuck and the pacing is brilliant. How fun the actual game was to play hugely outweighed the lack luster story for me.

Don't go back to dead island. It isn't a bad game, but Dying Light is a lot better.

Absolutely horrible, your weapons break all the time, and when you got a good weapon, you don't wanna use it because it's gonna break, and when it breaks, it's a nightmare to find a new one.

You have to bash zombies but it's so fucking horribly slow, you gotta hit, hit, hit, then stand back for an hour, waiting for your stamina to come back, then hit, hit, hit again, and the zombie falls down.

Then your weapon breaks and you gotta repair or find a new one.

The game is just pure fun and I found the atmosphere quite refreshing and unique, can't tell why tho.

No. You'll only get 1 playthrough out of it. There's no choices or consequences in any of the quests and you eventually unlock every ability, so there's zero replayability.

Why does most people on Sup Forums hate Dead Island? I played it for quite some time and found it to be really entertaining. Enemies would react realisticaly to hits in specific body parts and there were a ton of quests to be done.

I loved it to death if I could change one thing it would be to have the main characters in the story be more involved in the side missions because they just disappear for hours if you're trying to 100% it. Also that shit was full of waifu material: Jade,Troy and Ezgi make a perfect Apocalypse harem.

I almost agree. The lack of builds kind of sets my autism off but there is replayability.

The story is crap. Expect nothing out of it and just play the game.

The repair system is annoying at first, but then you realize youre better off running most of the game. The crossbow is too much fun but makes things trivial at the same time once you get some practice in (dlc weapon you acquire after some missions).

Its a fun game, even more so with some friends that you can talk to. Nothing like a frantic fight at night with flares and slashing and trying to kill a volotile or running for your life. Nights are the best the time.

The best zombie game ever created was Left 4 Dead, you really feel like the only survivor of a zombie apocalypse and you erase them by hundreds.

It's not a village full of shit zombies with dumb AIs that take an afternoon to kill.

Fun as fuck especially with your pals. The story and voice acting wasnt anything special or even worth mentioning. I think i have subk 60 hours into it and dont even remember what the story was about. Just laugh at its flaws and keep choppin away and tossin them firebomb grenades

There is no such problem with killing any zombie in this game besides night hunters.
Maybe I played this game after some kind of fixing patch but had no problem with this at any level in the game.

Yeah. I remember playing to the end shortly after release and played multiplayer until I could kick the night hunter's shit in. Haven't played since I could kill everything in a few hits.

The Following was pretty fun. Expect more running-over-zombies-in-a-buggy than normal fighting though.
Endings were kinda stupid.

Had it when it first came out, and had a lot of fun with it.

Had a couple problems with it though, never really followed the story so I cant vouch for that being great. The last boss was awful, but from an FPS I'm not super surprised.

One ongoing thing that really irked me was the exploder type zombies. The game seems to focus momentum and movement, but would place these guys around corners or in trucks, and right when you would walk by a corner one would pop up and you instantly die. Given it doesn't happen a whole lot, but it feels a little scripted.

I played the demo before and didn't like it, but i've seen some people say the demo put them off as well but the actual game was a lot funner. Can anyone vouch for this?

Yeah I didn't like the demo. The game starts out a bit slow but is god damn fun when it picks up the pace

It's a solid game. 7/10 if you like zombies. It's like an improved version of Dead Island. The story is obviously mediocre, but gameplay was fun.

I love this game, but the story really is terrible. The villain is cartoonishly evil for weak reasons. The gameplay makes it worth a shot though. Very fun.

To be fair it's my second playthrough, on Nightmare. The first time I stopped after broadcasting mission.

This was never a problem for me. Not to mention the frequency of new upgrades dropping. The idea that you will find one weapon that you like and keep it forever does not apply to this game. I enjoyed trying different weapons out.

Single player alone is 20 - 30

Coop, Multiplayer and new expansion would put that way above 60 hours mark

Man, I don't know what anyone was expecting after dead island (WHO DO U VOODOO BITCH vol.1). But I was mostly curious and thought that since Dead Island had potential... maybe this one was what I wanted. And it was close! Story was still garbage though.

That just isn't what happens when you use a shit weapon. The higher the quality, the higher the durability. The low weapon durability in the beginning of the game is to encourage trying new weapons and buying higher quality ones when you can find them.
