If you played total war games before you should go for it.
If you even don't know anything about the lore, just imagine a Warcraft world without elves and you go for it.
Yeah, that's a fine place to start, unless you've never played Total War before, then I'd tell you to play Shogun 2 or Rome 2 first to learn.
There are elves. They're just not in the game yet.
This is the swansong of WHFB
You don't have that many games to pick from desu. So go for the Total War version.
Yeah, it's great, just make sure you play as the Empire since they are the most glorious and best faction.
Are the faction leaders immortal in this universe?
After 100 rounds they are still as young as during the first round.
Time is frozen.
Probably my favorite total war. Then again I fucking love the WHFB.
So, are you guys using the empire reskin mod on steam? It armors your lads up better.
Warhammer has shitloads of fluff, but it's mostly just about falling in love with a faction and calling all the other ones shit. You can start anywhere, just make sure you don't like any faction other than Chaos in 40k or WHF.
Time a
Is frozen?
100 rounds could be translated to 100 days. Or 10 months.
Dwarfs live hundred of years, Undead live forever they are already dead. Orcs live till someone kills them, otherwise they will continue to grow and grow. Chaos warriors are contaminated by chaos energy, don't die either.
why are you assuming 1 round is a year?
yes
its a pretty neat plot point
Chaos are best in fantasy simply because the Chosen are the closest thing to Space Marines in it. The Empire is so fucking lame compared to the Imperium.
>being an Age of Sigmar fag
Chaosfags are the worst
Shogun still the best total war.
It is true that there is only one city model by faction?
There are no seasons or passing years in this game, and even then 100 turns in, say, Shogun 2 was only like 25 years because every year was 4 turns.
Sieges are the worst part of the game.
So 5 models? still good.
t. Dawn of war player
You say that now, but Chaos wins in the long run no matter what.
Tyranids are going to win 40k, though
no, chaos always loses, goes back and says they will get them next time like a cartoon villain
Sieges took a gigantic step back from the past 5 games or so, so yeah, basically. There are a handful of variants on the siege maps but they're all the same general idea. Just one of many bad changes in this game.
>implying a game where the soldiers don't even use shields or have a Roman shield wall formation is the best Total War game.
at least the AI doesn't choke during sieges and it actually forces you to attack. I really hoped they would keep the siege escalation mechanic from Attila though.
My nigger, these children don't get it.
40K would come down to an eternal battle between Tyranids and Necrons, neither can ever be truly stopped or destroyed.
>Chaos
>get beaten so hard that they have to cry to GW to retcon the End Times from the Order winning and killing them off for good to "muh universe restart"
>implying Tyranids can't be mutated by the Warp
They should have fixed the AI instead of dumbing the siege maps down to their level of inability to function then. They're pointless, tiny, and linear now. There's no variation or strategy, the defenders literally have to do nothing because the attackers have no choice on where to go.
It's accurate to the table top game you plebeian vidya child.
youmagnificentbastards.com
Siege in the table top game is one force attacking one side of the wall. Then getting in, you win soon after breaching.
Git gud and play the table top. The Castle is always at a corner in the table.
they can't, the presence of the hivemind actively fucks with the Warp
Empire and Napoleon are best. Shogun 2 is second best.
News flash you fucking retard, Total War isn't the table top. Fucking kill yourself you dumb piece of shit.
More realistic than the defenders defending on the other side of the city when the army was coming from the other side.
No one at no point in history was that retarded. You could hear the enemy armies days away from your city and be prepared to defend.
Rome 1 sieges were awful, and the AI couldn't handle it.
Wouldn't the Warp cut them off from the Hivemind, causing them to go feral? Isn't that why they don't use Warp for travel?
News flash you dumb niggerian, you are playing a table top VIDEO game. Made literally BY fans of the table top, and FOR fans of the table top.
Only the loud ones.
>muh Abaddon
>muh Archaon
how do you think sieges were like you faggot?
You could deploy and attack from every angle and side of cities and forts in Shogun 2, Rome 2, and Attila. Defenders are supposed to respond by spreading out their defense which then makes it up to the attackers to exploit the weaker spots. It does not get more realistic than that, stop defending this piece of shit game for setting the series back a decade and dumbing everything down for retards like .
>named HQ's
Fuck that. I had a regular Chaos Lord equipped with a Khorne Daemon weapon and rekt shit up with him.
No, the hivemind is such a massive psychic presence that it warps the Warp, so to speak. It interferes with Warp travel, communication, basically anything connected to the Warp
>it does not get more realistic than that
Holy shit you can't be serious. Hahahaha.
Where in the fuck did you get that the defenders of the city spread their armies? They left 4 guys per outpost tower and mobilized the entire army to defend THE SIDE that was being attacked.
That's how real sieges were, you pseudo intellectual retard.
>teleporting armies is realistic
Comedy fucking gold.
>the Chosen are the closest thing to Space Marines in it.
What are all of the bretonnian knights?
They are even fucking bulltet proof
Hivemind itself lays Shadow in the Warp everywhere where synapse'd nids are.
Good to know you never played, you could see where they were deploying you absolute fucking moron. Just stop posting, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
>you could see where they were deploying
So it was a Telltale style of choices then.
>here you can choose where you start
>but it doesn't matter because the defender can see where you deploy
Literally Worthless. At the end of the day, you are still attacking on 1/2 sides, which a corner covers.
