At this point I've pretty much accepted that there's never going to be a "good" video game movie. We go through this shit every time one of these movies gets announced and it always ends the same way. The lore and story of video games is better suited to their home medium and when you move it into the theaters, you lose what made the game good in the first place.

More and more I'm discovering that the people who can't stop badmouthing Batman V Superman generally have shit taste in movies, including my real life friends.

It is. There's no other way everything in the scene could be lit differently.

Let me tell you something you probably won't notice;

The girl in the dress in the back? She's standing in FRONT of a candelabra, but the yellow lighting on her face is coming from the side, and she's also front-lit (otherwise there would be shadow on her chest from standing that close to a backlighting source). However, the guy with the crown and the Orc are lit from the right side of the frame, when there clearly is nothing on that side of the frame remotely bright enough to illuminate them without washing out the wall or reflecting sharply off the metal armor. They're also lit from the FRONT RIGHT, but they're casting shadows STRAIGHT BACK as if there's a light source on the LEFT side of the frame.

The whole scene set up is just horrible compositing.

That's what greenscreen is. When you do it badly, you get shitty fuzzy edges rather than sharp definition. The thing is, to do it you need a high resolution camera which they clearly didn't bother with.

You can see the blue reflection on the wizard's robe from the bluescreen.

I had some hope for this movie but every picture I have seen of it looks cheesy as fuck.
