He has a point, you know

he has a point, you know

Thanks for letting us know he has a point.

We'll keep that in mind.

And that point is don't take people's money if you can't deliver what you promised.

This.
It's really quite simple. If you're unable to deliver AFTER you have the money you need, you are a failure. At multiple things, most important of all doing what you say you can do. The fact you took potentially tens of thousands of dollars from people and did fucking nothing with it will follow you forever. No matter what you do it will immediately pop up, as will this tantrum shit.

I took part in ONE kickstarter, and we ended up closing it because it wasn't going to be completed, and ended up going right to steam greenlight, and got greenlit in a fucking week, now we're working on finishing the game in our spare time. It's taken a few years but the game's better for it because we work when we have the urge instead of rushing it because people are taking back money. With any luck we'll be done in the next few months.

I wish a news article would defend me whenever I missed deadlines at work.

post yfm you didnt fall for any kikestarter projects

>promises to make a shitty rpgmaker game
Not sure what's more pathetic, he not being able to finish it, or people actually throwing money at him for it.

>indie dev angry rant demonstrates that having a job induces stress

wow, amazing work.

He had responsibilities or at least, promises which he failed to keep. Do you need to say anything else?

So do these people have any sort of legitimate legal obligation to deliver on their promisses, or can they pretty much just take your money and run? Because if it's all just based on blind trust then people who give money to these cunts are complete morons and deserve everything they get.

...

...

Somewhat but not really. They have to make a reasonable attempt and can't just flat out steal the money, however it's closer to investing and if the money is spent on the project and the project fails for whatever reason, you don't get it back. Look at kickstarter as investing in a product's development, it's a risk and many people don't realise that.

None of these people get sympathy from me. This is a project you personally setup and took money for, excluding acts of god you are solely responsible for the success or failure of the project.

what type of game

I just backed one for fifteen bucks.

why would anyone give this guy his money?
i mean just look at him

I have a dick but I don't spend my day telling everyone I meet.

...

It's especially infuriating when a creator's excuse is 'my computer just died *shrug*' and they were always using a complete piece of shit laptop from the 90s to create their 'epic' game. I don't even donate to these things, I just see them on tumblr all the damn time.

What did this guy do before Kickstarter? Has he ever had a job?

Who's this youtube eceleb?

If you aren't going to meet a deadline explain why and show progress at least.

"Hey guys we hit a snag with coding the bosses so here is some of the current world elements that are already implemented"

Take nefarious for example. He got sick and had to put the entire game on hold but he kept up with design aspects and characters.

MN9 practically keeps rehashing the same spiel and images every time a delay came.

they fucked up, simply put. I've been following their development since they started their youtube series and at first i was excited for them, esp since i'm also from AL, but i really can't support their current shitty attitudes and lack of communication. they didn't (and still largely dont) have the engine done before they ran that campaign, and then they hand out the half baked dev tools for people to make their own shitty version of their shitty game that they probably won't finish.

i mean fuck off Falco. it started as a labor of love for the dreamcast. now you want to go big with it and make bank, but that shit ain't gonna fly if they don't man the fuck up and get it done.

So, he hires this faggot (his best friend) to do the gameplay of the game, he pays him for a year, and then realizes this faggot hasn't done shit.
So he fired him and now the whole team is doing the work that guy should have done in that year.
He gets that it's his fault for no checking what the dude was doing.

If I do a kikestarter, I'd finish my shit first, then hold it for ransom without telling the backers that it was finished. Then after I got my money I would release it for free plus some minor in game trinket for the people who fell for it.

he deserves the hate for assuming work was being done
