Sorry but Mercy is only useful if you use her to increase Bastion's damage.

Mercy is pretty great if you have a strong character to give preferential treatment to. Me and my friend as a pharah do a great job, attack boosted direct rockets can take out many classes easily and pharah gives mercy a lot of mobility. Also I still try to keep the team alive, but I prioritize my friend.

Mercy heals 50HP/s (SINGLE)
Lucio heals 12HP/s with Crossfade (AOE)
Lucio heals 40HP/s with Crossfade+Amp it Up (AOE)

A good Lucio who times Amp it Up well in fights can outheal a Mercy.

Off-heal
Lucio: Speed
Mercy: Damage

Both are useful

Ultimates
Mercy: Resurrection
Lucio: Overshields

While Lucio's ult is amazing for soaking up a huge wave of incoming damage (Like a RipTire about to hit your group) Mercy's is better

A constant heal over time to the whole team while also being able to attack and possibly shield your team is better than healing a single target while being completely unable to attack at all.

Oh and his pushback is great for pushing people off ledges or off of objectives

I use Lucio as my Support main and I usually get like 8-10 eliminations a game just by spamming my attacks toward the enemy team.

I swear I pick off Bastions more than anyone else. People underestimate the hell out of Lucio's damage.

And really people underestimate all Support damage. Mercy's gun is decent, Zenyatta can be brutal, and people will walk right up to Symmetra (my second favorite) and let me flay them with my gun

Jump high up and guide your way into the backline. Throw a shield to isolate yourself from the enemy team, but also from your target if possible. Proceed to fuck target up and jump the fuck away.

You need both, but more importantly you need to stop trying to heal the whole team; pocket one guy (with DAMAGE AMP) and rely on your rez.

Once you actually get good at Mercy, then you can heal nearby hurt teammates as the situation allows.

Zen is a debuffer and glass cannon first and foremost and a healer second. Not that his healing isn't good especially with his transcendence which outheals pretty much any damage in the game.
His damage off of a fully charged shot is enough to kill pretty much anything in the game.

I was a medic main in TF2 and I played her a lot in free weekend, while also playing Lucio. Mercy's main problems are that she is more specilised, needs more team coordination and no one uses her damage boat properly. Lucio is good all around and his ult can be dropped in the middle of the fight, the other thing that he is second ONLY hero who can speed up your allies to the objective. His heal can't compare to Mercy's tho, even when boosted it is for patching up someone, not form making him tank damage. The other thing is that Mercy's damage boost is something no one uses, but something that can destroy enemy, slap it on bastion of junkrat and you rip enemy apart.

The only thing that is unbearably horrible about Mercy is her ult, it's good, but it's so boring unlike ubercharge.

They need to remove Lucio ability to speed up payload move speed like they were heroes.It makes him mandatory in escort maps, it's dumb. Otherwise he is fine.

How to play her?

I think Zenyatta is the strongest out of the healers, damage wise. Especially if you use Discord Orb and use your charge attacks, you can kill almost anyone.

Everyone talks about Mercy + Lucio but I think Mercy + Zenyatta might be good. Mercy boosts attack, Zenyatta removes defense. Everyone dies.
