Yeah that's why I'll pick Lucio, the superior support
Zenyatta and then we eventually lose because I can't heal enough since I'm more focused on discord orbing people.
But it's okay because no one really says anything.
2 harmony zen when
Zen is a monster. He could really be an offensive char.
His paper-thin robot skin is a bit of a drawback, and I think his healing orb needs to heal for a bit more and last longer than 3s out of LoS, but overall I damn love him.
Pick Roadhog and heal myself.
Mei is essential too. Keeps your teams focus on one side of the board.
Zens fun, sadly hes objectively shit in comparison.
Lucio needs to have his kit not be passive.
Mercy is fine as is.
Zen needs 25 more shield HP and the ability to orb 2 people at once.
>tfw main Hanzo and Tracer
>dominate
How are they bad? A good Tracer should be able to sustain themselves for half of a match or game. A good Hanzo should be able to keep tabs on the enemy team and constantly chip away at their health with the burst arrow.
Most classes are designed like garbage and don't work well with a controller. I'm picking Soldier 76 and you will like it.
>maining a character
>hanzo and tracer
you are fucking loser kill urself
Came to post this, was not disappointed.
I actually play as Mercy because I want my team to win
fag
In a world with robots, apes with glasses and removed asses poses, why is there no ALIEN characters?
I mean, if they became into that world, I'm sure they find some sort of aliens, and also aliens to play in this game too.
McCree.
My team can go fuck themselves, I don't care if we don't win. I'm not supporting these selfish fuckers, mainly, because I'm a selfish fucker myself.
tracer is an alien
You post like you should be playing Reaper.
>Mercy
Why does this moldy Christmas cake make my dick rock hard?
my team is not important, what is important is what i'm going to do
Because thanks to science she is forever 21
Isn't she bribonga?
>be Mercy
>get sick and tired of teammates not shooting
>take it upon myself to just start capping people
>it works out a lot better than expected
>30 seconds left, politely ask team to group up behind our Reinhardt player before pushing the point
>team spreads out as far and wide as the eye can see, gets cut down by turrets
Sometimes I dont understand human beings
I pick my support based on the map/side, and team composition.
All KotH maps: Lucio.
For control points offense, if I think people are going to separate a lot/the map has a lot of obstructive geography, I'll pick Mercy. Otherwise, Lucio. There are rare times where I'll pick Zenyatta if I feel that the team needs discord orbs/zen damage to clear opponents more than they need the other supports' benefits.
For payload offense, my reasoning is pretty similar, except I'm even more likely to pick Zenyatta pending on our team composition. This is largely because I have an objective to stick to and won't worry so much about my mobility. On hybrid maps, I switch between mindsets as necessary.
On CP defense, I'll play Zenyatta pretty often. I find I get a lot of mileage out of him on Hanamura in particular. Payload defense is the reverse, where I'll pick Mercy more often. Hybrid maps follow the same logic as offense, where the change in game mode dictates my mindset.
I'll also pick Symmetra on CP/Hybrid Defense, even if we have no proper healers. Just for fun. I switch on hybrid if we lose the point, however.
I'll also sometimes pick Zenyatta just because I get tired of Mercy and Lucio. He's way more difficult to effectively use, but it feels rewarding when things go well. I'll also AVOID Zenyatta in situations I'd otherwise pick him because of the enemy's team comp: Two snipers is a definite no go, even one tempts me to rethink things if they seem to be skilled. Tracer is also pretty hellish in my experience, she can really make him evaporate pretty easily, and his projectile based weapon isn't the easiest to hit with. If the team isn't able to protect me from Tracers, I definitely won't stick to a Zen pick.
It's funny how bad some people are. I remember a game where I got 4 gold medals as Lucio.
how is Lucio good? his healing is so slow.
>40 hp/s for the whole team, including himself
>slow
He also has a speed boost buff that no one else has, he can attack while healing, wallride to make himself harder to hit, bump people off of maps and has the best ultimate in the game.
Lucio is the strongest character in the game, user.
It heals all of your teammates that are around you, unlike Zeny or Mercy who have to focus on single targets.
Also you can amp up the healing.
>mercy is boring as fuck and you have to be brain dead to enjoy her
>teleport bitch isn't a support
>Zenyatta is way better offensive and better off a secondary support, can't even touch him when the enemy has a sniper so every match
why is there literally only 1 playable support in the game?
Lucio's ult is great, but Mercy's ultimate is better than Lucio's if only because of how fucking insanely fast it charges. Both serve the purpose of being anti-sweeps, the only difference being that Lucio is preventative while Mercy's is reactive, which is a problem if Mercy dies first.
I'm not that user you're replying to of course, Lucio is strong as fuck, especially on particular maps and modes where he gets full team exposure very often.
>He doesn't zip around with Mercys wings, healing and damage boosting everybody whenever needed.
>Team sucks so I go pistol Mercy and don't heal anyone
>Get a gold medal for 5 eliminations
>Tell them they suck and leave the next round
>You are now receiving an experience penalty
T-thanks...
That's true. But Lucio can counter most enemy ults with his own ult and it's a fantastic tool for team pushes. Mercy's ult doesn't really provide that and if she dies before her team does, her ult becomes worthless until the next push. Both are top tier ults but I find Lucio's to be better.
Double 76 baby!
>experience penalty
That is as thing?
no not really
her movement is boring just press button to go to directly too them, lucio is far more fun movement wise seeing some fucker off in the distance low and wall riding to save them feels cool, even if it doesn't do much more then just walking.
and having to sit there and do nothing but be everyone else bitch while they have fun playing a shooter doesn't feel great
i legitimately do not understand how people can play nothing but mercy
Um you can play 76 as semi support.
Both are better at different situations really. Mercy's ult shines when their entire team wastes their ultimates on you (ie. Junkrat, Pharah, and Zarya) and you mass revive everyone and wipe the enemy team since they just blew all of their resources. You can't really do the same thing with Lucio unless you trick the enemy into ulting at the same time you use your ult (good teams just wait it out).
Also, what's up with Lucio's ult animation? It takes forever and I've killed at least 4 Lucios before they could complete it.
FEEL THE BEETS
>i legitimately do not understand how people can play nothing but mercy
I like winning I guess.
Who else /pureskill/ here?
thanks for wasting 40 seconds of my life
>You can't really do the same thing with Lucio unless you trick the enemy into ulting at the same time you use your ult
You just wait for them to use a bunch of ults at the same time and immediately use your own ult to counter the damage. It's the same logic as a Mercy ult but better because they can kill a Mercy before everyone else is dead, whereas Lucio can use the ult and not worry about it afterwards.
>Also, what's up with Lucio's ult animation? It takes forever and I've killed at least 4 Lucios before they could complete it.
It depends on the terrain and at which height you used it. He needs to land on the ground for the barrier to spread, so if he jump from high ground, it will take a long time before it activates.
>healing a Rein with his shield up
retard
(you)
holy shit thats cheap
But he's totally right, user. Zenyatta needs more survivability and healing potential.
I think Mercy needs more survivability. Maybe more armor replacing her health so she doesn't fucking die in two hits.
>You just wait for them to use a bunch of ults at the same time and immediately use your own ult to counter the damage.
The thing is there's a cast time of like 2 seconds so you have to anticipate it (like I said bait it out). Also, Lucio can be killed during that long cast animation - I do it all the time as Widowmaker.
>He needs to land on the ground for the barrier to spread, so if he jump from high ground,
Didn't know that. Very interesting.
>Not wanting that sweet ult recharge
That Mercy did fine since no one died except for Pharah.
Junkrat so the team can get kills.
So this is why casuals like overwatch.
I get it now, even bad players can get an instant-kill-the-bad-guys weapon in the form of ults
Blizzard really knows how to cater to their primary audience, I give them that.
My favorite part of that webm is the guy in chat congratulating him on a 'gj', for pressing one button.
>pick zarya
>bitches swap classes to be my healbitch
TWO buttons.
First Q to start the ult and then left mouse button to fire it out once you have enough lock ons.
Fuck you 2 Reinhardts. Unstoppable
>low_mmr_mercy_footage.webm
Nah, the gj was after the game ended. It's just a saved highlight.
>no well played spray
Riveting.
My bad. Maybe overwatch takes more skill than I thought?
Yeah, I looked it up and seems like it takes exactly 1 seconds to land if you use it at ground level. And hitting a headshot with Widowmaker on a falling target is not easy anyway. Also don't forget that a good Lucio will stay behind his team and move erraticly to not get shot by a Widow.
Exactly. Now excuse me while I go harass some snipers with my auto aiming lightning gun that tickles
Oh, also you can use it without even having a LoS with the enemy team but having LoS with your own team. The area of it is quite big.
>join server
>everyone's gone Tracer
>enemy team goes full Winston
>their big monkey girth isn't enough to stop our impenetrable glass cannon defense
this is very similar to dota desu, you don't go shouting "lmao what a trash low skill game" when enigma teamwipes you solo with two blackholes? Or earthshaker blinks into you pushing towers with creeps and presses R and you are all dead? This is the same, its highly situational, requires player to know where to position himself, and needs enemies to be braindead as in this case - no reinhardt with shield, nobody even bothered to look around and either snipe him first or run out of line of sight.
>not picking the support who can actually do shit
this
man can they give this guy a teeny bit of aoe on just his harmony orb? or buff his movement speed, or both fuck it
Yeah so I pick zen robo
What did lucio actually do there though? Slightly damage rein with his right click?
>saving a shitter who stood in front of a rein without pressing A/D
he deserved that death.
Pushing the Reinhart to the left meant that his charge ran out before he could hit the wall, which would have instakilled the soldier. This allowed the soldier to survive and kill the Reinhart
>not playing the guy with rollerblades that can ride on walls while shooting people
It's like you hate fun.
Mercy might be worth while if you cut her healing and damage buff down while allowing her shit to fork to 2-3 targets.
The amount of healing she does just isn't worth it for anything but a tank. Lucio's E can top off everything but tanks quickly and is an AoE heal.
Mercy is just a lot of effort for not a lot of benefit.
That only works on retards though. The second you hear what time it is, you run back and get behind cover. Almost every clutch ult can be avoided by simply listening to the audio que.
damn I had to watch that a few times to realize what you did nice
that place is the best for mccree, i got a 6k from there with deadeye
nobody ever looks up
t-thanks
Mercy/Lucio double support is the most fun comp.
Mei is great on Defense, but I find her shit on Offense. A good defensive Mei really fucks up the team with the Ice Walls alone
The way Mercy is played in competitive is she's basically a backup healer. Teams run Lucio as the main healer and Mercy sits back behind a corner somewhere and then flies in and ults when 3 or more team members are down.
That's basically what Mercy is all about is her ult, that's what makes her so powerful.
>people bitching out zen telling him to go mercy or lucio
>not realizing that zen is an offense character in disguise
theyre not soul skaters man
Zen was top tier in closed beta but then they nerfed his HP to shit and nobody touches him now. He just dies too easy.
From my experience, the damage boost is also really handy if you have a Pharah, Widow, Soldier, McRee, or Roadhog.
Yeah her damage boost is great. The main thing about Mercy is you want to heal and damage boost when you can but surviving is above all else the most important thing you can do as Mercy. You want to outlive your team so you can fly in and resurrect them when the time comes.
They didn't nerf his hp at all. The only nerf he received was the line of sight nerf on his orbs which meant that he couldn't just put his Orb of Harmony on a Genji or Tracer to make them really hard to kill.
He needs a buff to his speed.
People fail to realise that zen is a remote healer and has the benefit on hanging back while providing healing.
If I try mercy and get focused without any of my team helping me you can bet your ass I'm playing zen 90% of the time.
Mercy is also completely braindead, the amount of times I just speed boost through a team and attacked on hiding around a corner and all they do is jump.
They just jump about a bit. Fucking Mercys are like Genji, do nothing for almost the entire game, gain an Ult and change the course of an entire match.
I am that 76 99% of the time so i'm fine.
*picks bastion*
>symmetra + Junkrat
Whoa such a skill combo you've got there
>76
>Anotherwords useless until Ult is charged
>76
>useless
The hell are you smoking?
The Greece stage with the pit, see an ult coming and jump into the pit yourself, just wall ride around the inside and then jump back out.
Lucio is almost like a game unto himself, you versus the level.
>get in a team with a bunch of shitters that pick assault characters and get picked off right out of spawn constantly
>literally have to 1v5 for 15 seconds
>still no pressure from any other side of the map
>leave
>"You will recieve a penalty"
Fuck off blizzard
>useless until Ult
You must be the worst shot ever.
Can we talk about how tanks are consistently the worst players?
Let's not oversell the other classes. None of them require that much intelligence to play.
