Well, it's subjective. I'm saying this from a gameplay perspective. I don't find it dated at all.
The sound and atmosphere are great even by today's standards, and the graphics, well, it's a goddamn 1998 game.

It is good. But Idtech has some problems with the AI.
Dark Mod isn't for TDP. It's for Doom 3. Or well, was. Now it's standalone.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is pretty fun if you force yourself to play it like the old games; however if you try to exploit the AI, then it can get pretty stupid.
