Old wow had tons of areas that were left unfinished or just kind of placed without a real purpose that added a ton of mystery to exploring.
I'm so interested in SM64's beta. When will it be leaked?
youtu.be
If I'm not mistaken that area is going to be used for some of the artifact weapon quests in the upcoming expansion. The Karazhan crypts are being used too
>looks worse than actual Castle Town
what
ehhhh I'm not sure if I'm excited by that or not I think they just be left as is or be used for something than a step stone quest. I'm not playing Legion regardless
why do they always scratch the open market with unbearable fog?

>SM64 beta
>not SMFX
get a load of this faggot.
>The one wall in Ironforge where you'd see people post up for some odd reason
>Eventually told how to clip yourself through there and get into alpha Ironforge
Vanilla had some crazy ass stuff with it. I guess that was part of the charm.
yeah, but it looked pretty fucking cool.
That they made it look better in the final game? I don't understand.

Oh my god.. i never knew sm64 had enableable top-down minimaps of the levels at one time...
And i am a sucker for beta stuff.
Its less populated and the layout is less interesting and doesn't feel like a bustling center town of Hyrule
Yeah, that video is the only one that shows it and it's fairly new. It surprised me seeing so much new gameplay of it finally. I also guess that it partially inspired the DS version's map.
got some beta ragnarok online card illustrations
the castle front had a weird texture where the princess window is.
or other stuff like 3d dragon
Those porings are terrifying.
day-night system
all cards were pretty terrifying back then..
beta juno/yuno
years old faceworm design before they could actually implement it recently.

It's a clock. Originally that was "Koopa's Castle"
have a willow card
Still mad.
That isn't beta, it was cut because nintendo are cunts.

think it's an early gamecube dev kit. Not sure anymore though.
>mfw Aonuma had originally made Twilight Princess so dark Miyamoto had to personally step in and slap his shit in until he lightened up a bit.

>because Capcom/Konami are cunts
Fixed.

Basically an official flash cart, for developers. It's a hard drive caddy that plugs in where the GC's optical drive would be.
Nah m8, that's something Koizumi would do.
Aonuma was aimless and they started development like three times until Miyamoto came and told him to gather his shit.

HL2 probably has the most cut content out of any game ever, maybe even more than MGSV. It's all cool as fuck too.
pwnd.

Xenogears, though we'll never know what most of it would have looked like.
>Omni-Gears for Emerelda and Maria
>Playable version of the Mass Driver dungeon
>Playable Regerus for Elly
>Actually explorable world map in disc 2 before end game
And who knows what else.

on the right side are lists of images from certain development periods, just select one and enjoy.
Nope. That honor goes to Mafia 2.

>tfw this game was going to be 10x better than GTAIV
what was the deal with the ice cavern? wasnt it supposed to be a temple?
It definitely inspired this mode though.

bump
...
i second that bump, would like to see more, too.
If I recall correctly, didn't the first Stalker game have a lot of cut content?
Mafia II - Cut Content
>we lost out on a new bonfire system
>we lost out on whatever the fuck that wild serpent is
>instead of a metal as fuck bleeding sun we get an eclipse
>the DLC will just be hashed together zones
>we lost out on a new bonfire system
Kinda glad we did. Being able to make bonfires out of enemies wherever you wanted was a dumb concept to start with,
The rest is a shame, though.
MGSV
>that standing dancer
muh
Heavy Rain.
>2007
>>we lost out on whatever the fuck that wild serpent is
That's Iudex Gundyr, you goof. He's just in Oceiros' boss area. Look closer.
Destiny
;_;
>dancer
It's a Pontiff Knight. I have no idea what that location is though.
No, the enormous, jagged thing in the bleeding sun picture.
this
Fallout new Vegas. Although technically not cut they just didn't have time to add it.
There was a really cool premise behind Mission 51
Anything banjo kazooie/tooie
Howdy motherfucker
Dancer is a Pontiff Knight made beastly by the ring, just like Vordt, the veil is unique, it's dancer.
Actually the veil looks more like Sulyvahn if anything and that's their exact pose.
This dungeon would have been pretty cool, seeing how nightmarish it was compared to other WoW dungeons at the time.
dude it's literally a scaled down Dancer model, the veil looks the exact same as the final version
.
story behind this?
I was so pissed that shit never made it into the final game but was advertised on tv.
I'm probably the only want who didn't care much for this cut content. I mean it's awful that they cut and openly admit to doing it. But if anything I wish they had planned another thing. Nigglets got really old really fast.
...
BS
>tfw you used to be a massive ocarina of time beta conspiracy kid
>tfw you still are deep down
every time i see a low-res screenshot of zelda i feel something in my heart
I'm not sure if it counts as "cut content" but apparently Alan Wake was originally supposed to be more of an open-world game before they found that their funding depended on making it a console game.
I didn't actually believe that Alan Wake was meant to be open-world, at first, because I hadn't seen any articles or trailers which said so explicitly. But there's evidence of this in the game. If you turn on free-camera mode in the first level, you can fly to areas which are normally inaccessible until later in the game (hence this screenshot of the hedge maze at Cauldron Lake Lodge when I'm supposed to be standing on the ferry on the other side of a mountain range). Every location in the game is on one map, even though only a portion of the map is really used in any given closed-off segment of the game.
All I know about Ragnarok Online is what I learned from Xration doujins. What's the appeal, it actually looks kind of interesting in screenshots.
