Constantinople's sack was not a reprisal for the expulsion/massacre of the Italian bourgeois living there -- most of those were Genoese/Pisans, and Venice actually must've been delighted. Also the massacre was the work of a very brutal usurper (Emperor Andronikos), exploiting class antagonisms, who'd already been deposed by the time of the crusade. The real underlying cause was just Venice being Jews, needing to recoup their investment in the crusade venture, but also plainly wanting to commercially expand in the Greek/Black Sea region.
The Cathars literally did nothing wrong and it wasn't them who murdered the papal legate harassing them, it was either the Languedoc aristocracy who were under attack by papal forces or else just a random Cathar sympathizer. Persecuting non-violent heretics is not excusable. The underlying cause for the Albigensian Crusade was the Church's desire to rein in apostolic heterodoxy/challenges to its authority, and the North French aristocracy/monarchy's expansionary ambitions in the south.
