Whoever wrote the Kingdom Hearts story just vomited a bunch of schizophrenic headcanons onto a piece a paper
>hurr mickey, cloud, sephiroth, sonic, and aerith who came back to life to marry her true lover, billy in the fourth grade, team up with simba to fight mansex for kingdom hearts
...

This game was perfect for ridiculous aerial combat and combos.
Makes the new FF combat feel childish.
I need to read the manga again.
IN YOU AND I THERE IS A NEW LAND
Has volume 4 of the KH2 manga come out yet?
And Knuckles
Yeah it's all done. They said II was there last one I think sadly. No BBS or DDD
The manga was great
>Xemnas puts up the Laser Dome
>Instead of deflecting all of them with their keyblades Riku and Sora cast Reflect
Is there an image of that page?
Let me get something straight
For all of the people that actually like KH, do they legitimately like the story? Or do they like the game despite the shitty story/voice acting?
Voice acting is great and I like the story because of how ridiculous it is in spite of it.
I actually like the story of the first game and COM. Everything else is a clusterfuck of shit.
>Voice acting is great
Did you just grow up on anime dubs or are you really that out of touch with quality? All of the disney characters are fine for the most part since it's the original VAs, but any of the anime reject squeenix characters sound horrible, especially sora
Chris Thorndyke, Daffy Duck, and Huckleberry Hound
Nah they don't
>anime reject
shitposter please go
I seriously have no idea what this series is about. My most distinct memory of the first one was "Where are these kids' parents?
Look at this and tell me he isn't a generic anime character
KH basically lives on the juxtaposition of disney and anime, if pointing that out offends you then you're the one with problems
Sora had a mom for literally one scene and then she was never referenced or anything ever again. Sora apparently only cared about Riku and Kairi and never once had a single thought of his actual home or his own mother
he just acts like Destiny Islands is where he lives in every game since
I love the series, but this is spot-on. Though I just as much blame the directing and scripting. Character interaction is stiff and stilted. It's like their emailing each other in spoken word.
>tfw intentionally die fighting xaldin just to play as mickey "yoda" mouse
Because of this emo faggot, best girl Rikku didn't appear in the first game, and she only appeared as a fairy in the second.
I laughed harder than I should have at Luxord in 358/2 Days
>My most distinct memory of the first one was "Where are these kids' parents?
In KH1 you leave your home world after it gets swallowed by darkness.
So in KH1 their parents are fuckin' gone
In later games they're just at home and you aren't.
>Character interaction is stiff and stilted
This is the biggest problem for me. KH1 had some soul to its cutscenes (though they weren't perfect), but in KH2 onwards they basically turned into something directed by George Lucas. Very static and flat, with very rare moments of life (usually restricted to the big action scenes). The scripts are the same way, they're basically copies of the film scripts with the occasional SORA DONALD AND GOOFY thrown in. The scenario writing and cutscene direction are very lacking. It's not a matter of budget or necessity, it's just a complete lack of joy or creativity.
I don't think it's completely Nomura's fault, but the fact that he's completely avoided showing the main cast's families (with the exception of one off-screen cameo) is very telling. Emotional connections are not his strong suit.
I like the story, but I don't think it's good. I guess it's a guilty pleasure
The mother fucking pimp squad theyself
Shinji always looks so out of place. He reminds me of an econ professor I had.
>I dont particularly like the abriged disney plots, they're just filler to the actual plot
>The actual plot is convoluted as hell, and overall isnt very interesting
why do people like this series.
Took longer than it should have. I stitched it up for you
He's a great supply of reaction images
How do people take this series seriously when you're constantly being followed by fucking donald duck and goofy
Suspension of disbelief and accepting the premise of the universe
Like literally any other work of fiction
I like the combat, and a fair heap of nostalgia doesnt hurt either
fuck if I know, the gameplay certainly doesn't redeem anything
>FRWLL!
What did she mean by this?
The music and atmosphere of the first game
>Went to Disney World recently
>No merch anywhere, not even references
It's kinda funny how Disney almost pretends the Kingdom Hearts games don't exist.
I guess they're as bad as Nintendo with their IPs and not wanting to put them in another light.
KH2FM's critical mode is sublime. Went from a six to damn-near a 10.
Disney has never had any merch for KH in their parks. Not even during the height of the series popularity years ago.
I think its more of a licencing issue than them not wanting to sell keyblades and shit.
Actually Riku mentions their parents in both KH1 and in Birth By Sleep. Outside of that Sora's parents literally forgot about him for a year and when their memories of him returned, they thought he vanished on the night of the storm like they had assumed with Riku.
Seriously nothing? Not even at Japan in Epcot?
Pretty much. There have been a couple of things over the years but not a lot.
When does Riku mention parents in KH1??
When he says they may not see their parents again.
>"Kairi’s coming with us! Once we step through, we might not be able to come back. We may never see our parents again. There’s no turning back. But this may be our only chance. We can’t let fear stop us! I’m not afraid of the darkness!"
I thought he said "We may never see our world again"
He says parents.

The green text is correct. And in Birth by Sleep it's mentioned that Sora's dad brings Sora and Riku to play on the island until they're old enough to go themselves
