Anyone have a foes ring? I'm level 60, and I want it to be an invade character but I hate the idea of having to kill freke and yuria and apprentice, then I couldn't switch out my spells on the fly
If you have it'd be cool if you let me have it
I'd:jacknjill56

My answer to everything is Garl Vinland.

MY BOY Garl Vinland
Saving Yuria she's C-cute
not really story but I love stockpile thomas >you have a heart of gold, don't let them take if from you
and helping Brostrava

>not executioner Miralda

Why doesn't she talk in my copy. I go to the white tendency area and she just runs at me but doesn't say anything

Execute the filthy maggots, brother.

she's never talked to me, is she supposed to?

I started playing a female characters because of the armor. This set is great.

Looked at the wiki and there is some dialogue for her

When approaching:
I have you now, wretched traitor to the king!
I, Miralda, shall show you no mercy!
When killed:
Foolish traitor to the king!
When she kills you:
Are you dead already? Oh, you deserve it!

Or does she say that when she's invading you? Never did the black tendency

>Dragon Bone Smasher
>Barbarian
>the blue little magic arrow thing

It was always fun playing as the boss in that one area.

idk I've done both and never gotten dialogue, that's cool tho glad she actually has character
>Never did the black tendency
have you even lived user?

It's quite a hassle to get black world tendency these days.

...

I think the only place I did it in was in Shrine of Storms since it's always hovering around black anyway. Of course I could just do it offline

>claymore or meat cleaver
>light or curse weapon

>tfw over 10k invades on one character

so which is true? the opening cinematic that says god placed a demon onto the world, or the beast talisman item description that says god is the old one?

it's not that bad you beat the whole game first making everything pure white, and if you get all of them you have enough stones of ephemeral eyes to make your stones pure black. Not to mention you could always just fucking dupe the stones.

see what had happened was that all the religions (umbasa and all that) worshiped the old one, while thinking it was the god when really it was the demon. At least that's what I believe is what's going on

>beat the game
>on my second playthrough realize you can run

Holy fuck I was retarded.

wow must have been nice have all that time to really take in all those views

how did you even beat the game?

Favorite Weapon:
Blind. Always and forever.

>played for a year before I realized you could sprint in 5-2 swamp

why is the area past the armored spider so fucking hard

the armored spider was also fucking hard

Holy Hell, walking in the swamp...

Penetrating Sword a best
'Cracked' Cursed Weapon
Yuria a best

Only stories I have is knocking Storm Ruler invaders off the side in 4-2.
They tried to cheese me, but they got the gravity dick.

I played late so I had almost no online interactions.

what's the world in Demon's Souls called? Boletaria, right?

so it truly just an ancient version of Lothric, like Lordrain was an ancient version of Drangleic

woah

IIRC the enemy NPCs will only speak to you if you're in body form.

Demon's Souls is a separate series.

Only downside to BBS is it takes a specific build and fucks you out of using anything else, but god damn it's fun

You pretty much have to be offline if you want to do black tendency. I remember replaying it a while ago and did that and as soon as I went online they all went back to neutral/white because of the network shit

Also why not favorite build instead of class? HP regen build is GOAT.

My dawg, the halberd is best (also used it blessed) though I prefer the thief getup.

Loved killing those idiots that only used Dragon bone smasher or any other meme weapon.

She talked for me when I went to her area after killing the False King.

It's implied that God is real, but that the "God" the religions worship is the Old One.

>the armored spider was also fucking hard
If you run up to it and hide in a corner, yes, but If you dodge its projectiles and fight it face to face whilst occasionally running back to avoid its giant fire attack it's one of the easiest fights in the game.

Or if you are using magic it becomes a ratchet and clank boss.

Okay, I actually managed to find a summon not so long ago and they went and fell off a fucking ledge. Found their summon sign again not long after, at the precise point I had to be to progress the level. Middle of nowhere otherwise, dude predicted the shit out of it.

And I thought Bloodborne was supposed to be the scary one.

Blueblood Sword was my weaponfu.

ding ding~

Tower of Latria is a bit of a joke on repeat playthroughs, but yeah nothing in Bloodborne really manages to capture the dread of that first playthrough.

Honestly I'm not even sure they tried, the only "fuck you" enemy in Bloodborne is the Winter Lantern and any dread is quickly replaced with annoyance at that line of sight crap.

If they remastered this game and added the 6th archstone, what features would ya'll add or remove? 'Cause I'd tweak the world tendency mechanic a bit so that it'd be easier to achieve pure black, maybe with an item you get after defeating an archdemon that also opened up new paths and added new bosses or something.

Just fucking remove World Tendency entirely, all World Tendency events are now normal sidequests with normal triggers instead of some retarded arbitrary system that's fucked if you play online anyways.

Wow, look, absolutely nothing of value lost.

Make world tendency an offline thing. It kept getting reset to neutral every time I went online and it was a pain in the ass. Also keep invasions as they are. Do not fuck with it Miyazaki. You got a hard on for crippling invaders. It was perfect in this game.

>you'll never feel that pure sense of dread you got in 3-2 ever again.

I really liked how vague some of the mechanics were when it came to the environment. Granted the items you obtain from pure black/ white playthroughs became pointless when some phantom just dropped the stuff for you.

Also it's a shame how with an established meta it won't be as fun to play online.

What this guy said:
Fuck world tendency.

So what if all the worlds were pure white by default, but after defeating an archdemon, you got an item that could make it pure black and added shit and made the level bigger?

And for the sidequests that require shifting from black to white? Or if you just want to tackle the sidequests in an order you choose?

It was insanely easy to get pure black, the hard part was getting pure white.
It was easier to go from pure white to pure black, not the other way around

There's nothing inherently wrong with World Tendency, but it'd be nice to have an option to change it easily at the end of the game.

I'd remove infinite stunlocks, the balance is fucked but this is the only aspect that doesn't feel fun to witness on either side.

I just started demon souls and fought the first boss. It was easy but now how do i even beat tower knight in 1-2?
My class is knight

Should i wait and visit other worlds?

Is there a way to level up your character/ upgrade weapon and armor?

Tips?

I'd go with the later, but my main reason for the change would be to have the world tendency not be some arbitrary thing that made the game harder or easier just because you failed this or killed that. I'd make it something that uncovered the dark nature of a level and therefore revealed a hidden route or greater evil hiding within.

you don't have to do it in order, visit somewhere else if you're stuck.

attack his ankles until he falls, then attack his head.

level up in the Nexus, talk to the Maiden in Black.

upgrade in the Nexus, talk to the crotchety stoneskin.

remember that Latria and Valley are the best worlds.

See that's fine, but as it is World Tendency is just arbitrarily getting locked out from sidequests over arbitrary triggers.

People complain about tendency but it was an important part of the tension I felt going through the game the first time, it was part of the reason why Latria was harrowing in addition to the atmosphere.

Also fuck I never knew she had dialogue.

I'm gonna assume you already know to kill the archers, but just in case... KILL THE ARCHERS. Then stay behind him and attack his ankles until he falls and attack his head. The key is avoiding the shield.

>Should i wait and visit other worlds?
Before the tower knight? Not necessary.

>Is there a way to level up your character/ upgrade weapon and armor?
The Maiden in Black levels you up and the dude next to Stockpile Thomas upgrades your weapons. You can't upgrade armor.

If you're in human form, she talks.

>walk into boss room

>walk into boss room

>walk into boss room for a third time and start running/rolling
>fall down somewhere
>boss was below me and hitting me with his tongue/dick or something

If you do anything but bumrush Adjudicator, you're getting Lickitongued.

There's a good 10 seconds before he deploys the tongue-fucking though, not sure what happened to you.

Adjudicator was my second favorite boss design next to this sexy lady.

Tendency only sucked for those going for the platinum trophy. Otherwise, it really added a lot to the gameplay by making the worlds more difficult after you die, balancing your newfound knowledge of the level layout with more challenging enemies.

>by making the worlds more difficult after you die
What was it, like a 10% difference between Pure White and Black? Like barely any, man, nobody noticed that shit.

Apart from that one Black Phantom on Latria's stairs, ehehe.

you had less health in soul form also.

>play offline
>kill yourself in the nexus
>never have to worry about black tendency
Extra challenge shouldn't be a punishment, it should be a reward.

Blue Blood sword is so fucking good but like you said really locks you into using only that or maybe some other weapons that your build can equip but not nearly as good as the BBS so what's the point.

I really need to make a Faith/Miracle build sometime, I thought WotG was really strong in DeS but I never tried it.

I thought that was character tendency.

You sound like a fucking baby. You're the reason git gud exists.

He's right, though. And you're the reason why people think the Souls fandom sucks.

>Dragon Bone Smasher and Winged Spear

When I first started out playing Demon's I started as a Wanderer. I didn't really get the game and was really butthurt about losing my souls, when my gear was broken down I thought I had permanently fucked over my character.

I have ... uh ... destroyed ... a few controllers because of this game.

I loved how fresh that system felt, I encountered two black phantom enemies at least that I think were tendency based and I wasn't prepared for them. Also loved the mystery surrounding that closed gate in the very beginning of Boletaria that led to the executioner chick. Finally fighting her was fucking awesome.

Also fuck yourself if you complain about any fight in the series without having fought this cunt without a shield

If you play well, the game should give you an extra challenge. If doing well makes the game easier, it loses its fun. The opposite is equally retarded and in the context of DeS, it's just an arbitrary annoyance that's so easily circumvented, it might as well not even be there.

No, he's not. Proper balancing always requires punishing the player, otherwise you might as well run through the game with /win and /godmode.

maybe an item that transports you from pure white to pure black, and you get to do the area over again. Idunno. The system is kinda faggy but it has its charm desu. It's Demon's in its purest form.

>If you run up to it and hide in a corner, yes

oh ok my bad

The game already punishes you by putting you in soul form, making you run the level again, and taking away all your souls if you die again.

Making it more difficult if you lose and less difficult if you win is awful balancing.

>If you play well, the game should give you an extra challenge.

And this is why there is level scaling in Oblivion. Hope you had fun with that.

what is this meme? One of my "comfiest" gaming experiences is when I accidentally slept all day and woke up when it was dark already and played through latria 1, 2 and 3 for the first time

Fuck off with your meme game

there is literally no reason to play Demon's Souls if Dark Souls or Bloodborne are available.

>roll behind
>backstab and wail on them
Don't roll backwards, you dunce.

Honestly the only absolute bastard fights in the series are Sir Alonne and Fume Knight.

Maybe people really like those games and want more of that kind of game?

Besides, DeS has its own charms.

Except it doesn't become easier if you win. If you continuously win, you are putting yourself in new challenging situations constantly and the difficulty remains the same. If you lose however, you have to repeat a challenge to which you now know the solution, so by increasing the difficulty via tendency, you bring the challenge of this previously done challenge closer to its original level.

>He thinks Dark Souls is better than Demon's Souls

bloodbabby here, I've been using the halberd since I got it and upgrading it, pumping str all the way but valley is kicking my ass. am I doing something wrong?

Adding tougher enemies to the world as you progress isn't a bad idea, Oblivion just implemented it poorly (amongst other things).

That's also why MGSV had the feature where enemies adapted to your tactics.

Which was one of the better parts of that game.

Repeatedly punishing a player for failing, the punishment growing more severe over time, to "maintain" difficulty for one boss, sounds really shitty and a chore.

>Demon Souls stealing lore from Gothic

I still love both games to death.

>Adding tougher enemies to the world as you progress isn't a bad idea,

It's a horrible idea and is always the worst part of any game, be it Max Payne or R&C. Having a constant difficulty level is the only good option.

Grab the Adjudicator Ring and Regenerator Ring from Shrine of Storms and the coupled HP regen effect offsets the fucking poison swamp effect.

Are you baiting?

The difficulty only increases for that one level and after beating that level's boss, you tendency decreases severely so it shouldn't affect any other portion of the game negatively.

Stop posting

Just drop down directly to Flamelurker.

>Except it doesn't become easier if you win.
It does in DeS. Defeating a boss moves the world towards white which makes the enemies easier. A better system would be to have the world become harder so you're always having to improve yourself. Redoing the level is punishment enough (and I wouldn't say no to the current mechanic of losing and having to retrieve souls), but making the enemies harder is just a dick move (and one that the current system has, as mentioned before, a stupid easy way of avoiding anyways).
