Mega Man's design was so fucking simple before, I don't get why they had to do this Tron-like overdetailing redesign shit like all these CGI cartoons tend to do. I swear to god if his spiky hair looks awful despite it being fucking tradition and being kept the same between the games, Archie Comics and even the Ariga manga, then i'll hate every fiber of this Mega Man design.

Jesus, it's like none of you people remember when Sonic Boom got announced - exact same arguments. I'm not saying this necessarily means the show will be good, but at least wait for it to actually come out before completely writing it off.

But there is two key differences between this and that.
1:The Sonic Boom redesigns were actually good, despite what the screaming sonic autists said (not quite as elegant and recognizable as the classic design, but certainly not actively bad), while this design is quite simply straight up ugly.
2: Sonic Boom was actually about Sonic fighting Eggman, not going to High School.
3:Man of Action

It could still be good of course, and I'm not really freaking out over this, but there's a lot more to point to it being pretty bad. Sonic Boom was just the sonic Fandom shrieking about change, just because it was change.

MegaManTM is a show about Aki Light, a Japanese highschool girl who owns a robot suit and must pretend not to be Kim Possible so she can date boys

Shiny lights are toyetic and appeal to kids.

But I can see a bit of influence from X and other iterations of Megaman so clearly a bit of thought went into the design.

But the old Mega Man cartoon is 100% accurate to the games. He plasmas at robots and then steals their power so he can plasma at bigger robots.

I get what you mean but I think it's usually ok on human sized robots, as long as they don't go full blown human-like. Think something more like Astroboy or Aegis, they have human faces but keep having joints and shit.
