Just fucking go play the other games already. They're not going to give you poise back.
Poise is not ADP
Armor still useless
Stop being a crybaby and learn to hyper armor
whats the point ?
i enjoy not having poise in the game
You only need poise if you plan on getting hit pleb.
Git gud
Sou you want to go back to unstaggerable casters sitting in a corner chuggeing estus and throwing magic missiles at you?
No, thanks!
I don't even care about poise, I just want heavy armor to be at least sort of worth the stat investment it takes to wear it literally only because there is some cool-looking heavy armor that I want to wear
This. Heavy armor should give more protection or have some unique properties depending on the armor.
Exactly. Either enable poise or get rid of armor weight.
There is (was) one simple way to fix poise, adding an additional poise bar similar to the stamina bar. The bar would represent the amount of poise, getting hit decreases the bar and you get stagger when it reaches zero, so instead of having infinite poise when you reach a certain point it works so you can resist a small number of hits without getting staggered. The bar fills quickly when is near zero so you can relatively quickly resist at least 1 hit with high poise, but it fills slower after that meaning you have to wait a lot longer to be able to resist more than 1 hit without getting staggered. Also the amount of poise decreased when hitting someone could be calculated with the weapon stability, meaning shield bash can easily stagger people.
The Souls subreddits are actually pretty good. The Bloodborne one in particular has some really interesting stuff on it.
This.
That wouldn't happen in DaS3.
Casters already need a ridiculous amounts of INT to be viable, they can't afford any points in Vitality to wear heavy armour. Plus max poise in DaS3 (if you turn it on with Cheat Engine) is much less effective than DaS1, in that game you could BECOME UNSTOPPABLE, but in DaS3 you would only be able to withstand 1-2 hits before being staggered, and the stat investment is much higher.
Literally never happened. At least not in the only relevant game for PvP ie Dark Souls 1.
That's pretty much exactly how it worked......
Except the bar was invisible, every weapon had a hidden "poise damage" stat (DaS3 has this as well) which damaged the bar, when it hit 0 you staggered, and then it came back.
How it regenerated varied between games. I know in Bloodborne enemy poise (since you had none) instantly returned to full after 4 seconds of not being hit, or Immidetly after finishing thier stagger animation. I think DaS1 player poise worked similar, but 2 worked differently I believe.
>so instead of having infinite poise when you reach a certain point
You have no idea what you're talking about. There was never "infinite poise", you goddamn moron.
Poise used to work with breakpoints.
For example, you had to have at least 53 poise in the first game to be able to tank a full hit of a 2h r1 greatsword. If you had less than that, you could get chain-stunned and hit over and over without being able to do shit until the other dude depleted his stamina bar because of how stupidly fast the weapon could swing.
In DS1, poise regenerated like stamina did, after a second or two or not getting hit/blocking a hit, it would start to come back until it hits your max poise again. It wasn't instant, but it was fast, at least that's what I remember, and spot on for the rest
Yeah, /r/Bloodborne is actually really good. Everyone is nice and civil, lots of good research done into mechanics and shit, interesting lore posts etc... So is /bbg/ on /vg/, but most of "groundbreaking" souls stuff happens on reddit now rather than Sup Forums. It's where all the poise testing and stuff is being done and where almost all the lore stuff for Bloodborne was discussed (really that one guys 100pg essay, but he posted it there).
I honestly and truly believe that DaS1 coming to PC killed the community on Sup Forums, it's survived elsewhere.
Discussing Bloodborne (when free from shitposting from both sides) feels much more like DeS and DaS1 pre-PC days. Smaller, more comfy, no data-mining all the secrets etc...
Or you just finally learn how to fucking balance every mechanic of your game after yourmade the same game 4 times
Then stay there and don't come back.
Bloodborne reddit is comfy
i actually laughed out loud or as you kids say I "fucking kekd"
t. 19yr old who just discovered Sup Forums
Keep the memeposting on plebbit, moron.
Anyone who expects polished combat mechanics from a studio that can't even get basic pathfinding right is a fuckwit.
So was he modded or are you guys pvping at SL 500?
when i first read this overly complex autistic ass theory about iframes changing in the midst of action i was like "theres absolutely no way those fucking japs would code that"
and of course it turned out to be true. common sense. a system like that requires a ton of investment in code for an effect that players cant even notice or determine whatsoever? riiiiiight...
Le hyper armor hehe c:
Fuck off with that retarded meme already you fucking underage. Its a retarded concept and it doesn't even work properly either.
Stop repeating what reddit or Sup Forums tells you and learn that hyper armor and poise are not the same thing and won't make up for each other
>it doesn't even work properly either.
What does in Souls games?
reverse image search turned up nothing
Nothing. From are some of the most incompetent devs around.
>use preserverance or other magic to get poise
>proceed to wreck shitters who don't realize poise still exists in some forms
>Souls discussions on reddit
>applying the scientific method to develop a deeper understanding of game mechanics and sharing your findings for all to scrutinize
>Souls discussions on Sup Forums
>just cuck my shit up baka desu senpai REEE B-TEAM
Roger that
How long does that last?
Reddit would apply the scientific method to a dog turd on a street and somehow conclude it's a metaphor for the oppression of blacks or something.
Then again, blowing shit out of proportion is more or less Soulsdrones' modus operandi, so who the fuck knows what happens over in /dsg/.
>le reddit boogeyman
Already called it bullshit the first time around.
FROM are retarded for not being able to balance the poise and just do the easy way out of turning it off, but they are not retarded enough to do these kind of convulated calculation.
FROM stat is hidden, but all of them is pretty straightforward on the way it work and calculated..
What? Pretty sure this .gif is SL120 PvP.
Why not ditching vitality and weight altogether
Preaching to the choir
So people are waiting until all tests are done so they can start a petition?
There's already one on change.org

the future you chose
#sadhavel
Can you at least compare equipped armor stats to vendor items now ?
Poise works as intended. You guys are just idiots and stupid because you expect it to work like in Dark Souls One
Who cares if poise doesn't work?
It doesn't effect the game in any shape or form.
People are still beating the game easily, and PVP is still fun.
Is this just another DS2 Durability Bug problem, where it literally didn't matter but people acted like it was the end of the world?
Explain what it does
it increases your poise value
the higher your poise is, the higher the number shown under "poise" in the character menu is
You faggots who bitch about reddit don't seem to actually know what the site is like, or if you do, then why do you know how the site is? That would imply you go there.
and?
it will reflect this by saving the integer value as a higher integer on your character stats sheet
From is literally worse than any AAA dev.
Do you people not realize the effect of defense in this game ? Are we even playing the same game ?
how does it reflect on mere gameplay?
>The bar would represent the amount of poise, getting hit decreases the bar and you get stagger when it reaches zero, so instead of having infinite poise when you reach a certain point it works so you can resist a small number of hits without getting staggered.
Um, isn't this what shielding already does with the Stamina gauge??

No thanks!

>muh special snowflake club
You faggots are as new as you could get
the sad thing is they really think there is any difference between mainstream Sup Forums and reddit
>Reddit discussion of a game
>anything more than circlejerking and fan art
They're terrible, but not the worst.
If they introduce microtransactions to buy more humanity or make all boss weapons require 'platinum' to create, then I'll change my mind.
That's the joke.jpg
>>le read-it
Whew lad. Whew.
test
Why not just play Bloodborne in that case?
>Literally
You are objectively wrong
Defense literally has no effect
>r1 spam: the meta
>fun
just wait for the dark souls III jew more on the new consoles edition
>Casters
>Vit
An INT build needs at least 54 INT and 30 ATT to be viable. The only decent INT weapon is the Crystal Sage Rapier, so that's 13 STR and 18 DEX. That leaves you with 29 levels to hit the maximum SL for the 80-99 meta. Since you have to use 2 items that inflict double damage, you'll need some VIG, 27 is the usual go to amount. You'll need END to cast the spells, which means there goes your last 20 levels.
The most optimized INT build can't put a single point into VIT. They'll have a 47 equip load. The weapons/staffs and rings take up 10 points of that 47. At best, they could equip 3 pieces of the elite knight set (but the head needs the Crown of Dusk.) They'd have little poise.
hyper armor is useless against anybody with half a brain, who will just wait for a swing and then hit you during the MASSIVE gaps between attacks.
