What went right?
What went right?
>it's real
They have under 50K subs, how the fuck are they getting almost half a million a year just from Patreon? How?
those people are huge fans. im a fan of GT crew but i dont like giving money away to people
literally watching the newest archived hearthstone stream right now bros
they were in the business long enough to make some big support
They got lucky with their supports all rich wageslaves who give away their hard earned cash
...
That's probably what they look like yes.
I'm not familiar with how the specifics of Patreon work, but I'm guessing that's probably a few people putting in joke donation.
Though if real, good for them. Bosman earned it, at least.
They make good, interesting content that people enjoy watching, whether it's a new show like Brandon Plays Pokemon or streams like Bosman V Wozniak. Interact with their fans well, letting them come up with podcast topics and vote on games they stream.
they have a pretty high average pledge amount desu
this is their third month famitsu and its been growing since
...
Gee Greg Miller how come your mom lets you have TWO Patreons?
Don't post threads too often, I don't want to see EZA spoiled by Sup Forums's retardation
youtube.com
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
>CGP Grey makes 15 grand for every video
I actually like his stuff despite him literally being Reddit Incarnate to the point where he made videos extolling the greatest of Reddit's system.
But how can anyone rationalize him making that much? They're literally 5 minutes long.
>only three minutes in
>already two animal jokes
I hope he at least wrote these ones.
Brandon playing Pokemon Red.
I dont even like Pokemon but having 1 hr talks about his first playthrough makes me remember mine more than 15 years ago.
Baha Men joke is GOAT.
Why isn't he on Comedy Central?
>half a million
Um... user...
Pretty much everything, the content they've been making is great in my book.
Also hitting the 40k mark for this month should mean they can build a pretty decent setup for their E3 streams, this is most exciting. Though I expect it to drop down by at least a few hundred next month.
I'm loving all of the content so far.The GT crew is the GOAT time vidya crew.I love their enthusiasm for games. It's infectious.
>a year
what's your point?
Best. Boy.
Why does Bosman always look like he just had a good long cry?
well they have like 8 people that take cuts from that so...
They're more focused on streaming on twitch than uploading to youtube.
only damiani, ben and brandon are full time
we need more pokepark dammit
/easyallies/v/68272065
What's the first half of this link?
They're successful because they're just GT under a different name, and GT was always pretty good. Especially Bosman. He made a really good video about Miyamoto last week.
Is there a better show than dons discount gaming
>per thing
>per video
I know Patreon is fine with it and if you're signing on as a patron you're accepting that this will be the fee for this specific interval, but it's kind of absurd to me how vague the intervals could be.
Granted if you did it often enough you could start bleeding subs away because they realize they're not getting their money's worth, but it seems like there's almost nothing stopping you from shitting out a half-baked piece of content every now and again and then sitting back and collecting the cash.
Zeronis gets like $5k or so per "batch" of artwork which seems to be about three pieces along with timelapse vids and PSDs (which is almost zero extra work) at around three batches per month. Art certainly takes effort but unless each piece takes him hundreds of hours that's really minimal for the amount of cash he's making in addition to his commissions and contract work for Riot. Pretty sure he was even making more than that before too when he was doing NSFW stuff.
Wish I could get in on this cash cow while the iron is still hot but sadly I have almost zero marketable skills.
Loved this bit this week.
this was so sad.
glad everything turned out alright.
i actually like EZA more than GT
I just miss the final bosman.
>Huber looking like he was going to cry after making a joke
>Recently said he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend but then GT got sacked
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
user did you not get the memo?
They have Final Bosman, it's just called Bosman at Home
saddest part was don just sitting the background not saying a word.
>it's another hipster making money through patreon episode
nothing
the part that you can't post here
Jesus is that real?
That's all kinds of fucked up.
>A professional in the industry has a fondness for another group in the industry
Nothing wrong with that as long as they keep it professional.
>SmugfaceBosman
I saw that stream. . . I cried.
>Brandon's speech at the end
>his voice starts to crack
You think he'll ever beat Woz's score?
who is this bosman guy and what makes him different than all the other whiny dude making videos about videogames?
oh shit they hit 40k
Making E3 great again
Bosman at Home
they're both great though, wish Don did more stuff in front of a camera.
Do you think it bugs the rest of the crew that his videos on his own channel get like 50k views
I'm considering a different general video game podcast than Bombcast. Easy Allies has one, right? How dies it compare?
>mfw it drops at the end of the month
If they are they should be used to it considering final bosman was the most popular show by the end of GT
Its fun and isn't full of fat people breathing down the mic talking about DOTA.
I think they've had time to get over any envy they've had, considering most of them been on the team for like 4 years or more.
A combination of his comedy that doesn't rely on vitriol, enthusiasm for games, and his everyman appearance
Years of Sup Forums can leave one bitter. I think for a lot of anons here, to see a crew like EZA that can maintain their love and enthusiasm for games, while still treating them with some healthy skepticism, is a breath of fresh air.
Fucking everything
They are pumping out fun content at an incredibly high rate
They only need to crank up their production values a little higher and i couldnt ask for more
they actually enjoy video games for one thing
Tbqh senpai that is EZA-affiliated, not an EZA production.
I think the 40k goal on patreon was, amongst other things E3-related, to help boost their production with shit like nicer mics and cameras
The weekly podcast is always on point and never strays off topic because of Bowman.
Frame trap is great off topic funsies.
give me a video of this little dipshit that you consider good so i can act like a judgemental asshole
>Bosman at Home
We need to talk about the Black and Decker controversy. It's the hottest topic since the gamecube controller with no buttons.
patreon always has a honeymoon period. people donate like mad in the beginning, and then once they're actually charged they start dropping like flies.
Brad is my favorite after Bosman, he doesnt get enough credit imo
some were already posted mate
i hope they get a real office eventually, i feel like brandon needs some space from home
Brad's great, they're all great (well expect ian but I still like him he's pretty good too) but after bosman the second best is easily Ben.
It's been months since e they started famicom
But Ben ranked Chief first. He can't be second best.
>you will never love something as much as Huber loves Shenmue
Brad's greatest contribution is inventing the Green Lizard's team cry.
th-th-th-th-th..
>you will never be as jolly as Huber
just kill me
>Though I expect it to drop down by at least a few hundred next month.
There was a neogaf poster that upped his backing by like 850$ for this month only so they reached E3 of Dreams stretchgoal.
well when you get 40k you have quite a cushion of other donaters
Not that he was ever slim but did Damiani get twice as fat in Texas? I just watched the first podcast with him and jesus!
>That's all kinds of fucked up.
How exactly is that fucked up? Do you think they're Sony shills now?
Shuhei isn't even a top patron.
Yeah but not all of them are working on it fulltime. Most of them are only showing up regularly every 2 weeks or so, also half a million a year JUST from Patron is more than those guys would have sign on 2 months ago. Is still a little behind their current maximum target but they have been gaining a small but dedicated following and his shows are actually really fun. Brandon Plays Pokemon feels so fresh compared to other pokemon streams or whatever, also it helps the juxtaposition of Bossman and Brandon being the ones involved in that show.
...
I'm watching it every week, and he doesn't even come close, so I'm guessing no.
Brandon Plays Pokemon is so fucking good. I'm not sure if it's even possible to capture lightning in a bottle like that but I hope they can do something similar down the line.
Who's to say they ain't gonna skew their views a bit in favor for sony because of this?
If he wanted to give them money he should have done so anonymously without anybody knowing. Him doing this publicly is bad for them (easy allies) because people might think they might view sony in a more positive light because of this.
$25 Patron here telling you that we look even worse. Pic related.
That cut at the end absolutely killed me.
>Who's to say they ain't gonna skew their views a bit in favor for sony because of this?
You're fucking retarded.
>If he wanted to give them money he should have done so anonymously without anybody knowing.
Why? Otherwise retards like you would think he now has them in his pocket?
>watching the stream
>thinking "he's just gonna weasel out with more animal jokes"
>as it goes on think maybe I'm wrong
>maybe he'll actually do some standup
>the time comes
>this happens
This. They're also one of the few bastions of non-cynical gaming enthusiasts. I am literally sick to my stomach of people like Jim Sterling, Yahtzee, and Giantbomb; all of which who make their living by shitting on the industry and modern games as a whole. I like vidya. I play vidya 'cause it's fun. When I found the GT crew during last year's E3 I was legitimately blown away by their genuine enthusiasm and love for video games. It reminded me why I loved the medium.
So when they got shuttered by Defy Media, I was pretty fucking gutted by the news. And when they announced a Patreon, I didn't hesitate to drop $25 a month for them to continue doing what they so obviously love.
...
If it doesn't bother you then that's fine, but don't assume everybody who doesn't think like you is retarded.
That Thumbnail tells the whole fucking story.
>its another podcast with ian
This, Brandon Plays Pokemon has been so comfy.
>allies
Damiani is doing a surprise stream right now for some final fantasy
