Meant to be remastered

>meant to be remastered
>looks shittier than the original
Why do people fall for these cash grabs?

I refuse to believe this

Surely they would have learned by now?

they must be switched

They aren't

Nope. As an avid fan I can confirm they are the right way round. This game is an insult to the originals.

They make money off of it, so why would they?

right is definitely the original, even on xbox they had Wayne's reflection in the glasses

although I can't say about the left, it just looks too shitty to be real

They've actually downgraded the detail on Joker.

>"""next gen""" consoles

fucking lmfao i sure am ready to buy another """next gen""" system next year!

this time games won't look like shit, i am certain!

Everything but the character models looks way better though.

what the fuck is this

this has to be some sort of ruse I know it

I heard somebody say that original versions are pre-rendered, while Remastered is all in engine.
That's kind of hard to believe, but would explain it. Haven't played Arkham games myself, so I wouldn't even know what kind of scenes they are.

>consoles

joker played some hockey

Granted from what I have seen of the Asylum itself, it looks a lot less blurry. Same for City. But the models are atrocious. I've noticed characters with glasses/monocles look terrible. Check out Penguin.

Did you faggots forget about silent hill HD

Remastered looks like he put on a costume beard

>those eyebrows

Fucking kek

Consolefags WILL Defend this

In PC they are all in engine.

See the definitive edition of Sleeping dogs

...

all cutscenes were pre-rendered, but I'm fairly certain the strange cutscene in the OP wasn't since it transitions right to gameplay

it was harder to tell with Knight since all the cutscenes were 60fps but since they had the FUCKING 30FPS CAP at launch you immediately realized once you started playing

>meanwhile on pc
>cant even run the game on a SLI GTX1080
Yes dipshit, everyone tries to forget that abomination.

SLI means fuck all unless the game in question supports it, and since knight barely supported one video card I doubt this will support two

>implying that's a PC problem not a shit port problem

I honestly feel bad for Rocksteady, seeing their creations utterly ruined like this must not be easy

Remastered means to make it again, not to make it better, fuckhead
Most people who buy games they already own don't care about this though. You get what you deserve

It's still your problem.

>thought OP was trolling and switched the "Remastered" and "Original" around so I googled to make sure
>it is indeed real as shown

Haha what the fuck why?

The joke was that no matter how "super ultra power" gaymin pcs are, theyre a fucking joke when they cant even run the game at all. also see the constant crashes with arkham knight and all Souls games.
>i-i-i-i-its just a shit port! Its their fault!
regardless, pc is a fucking joke nowadays

You see, Mr. Wayne, when it comes to cash grab remasters, there will be shortcuts taken. Some of these shortcuts will destroy the original visual fidelity of the product.. Because now that the technology has reached these levels, all that matters is EFFORT. And more EFFORT went into the original release than on your shitty remaster.

...

>The word Remaster literally means to make it better

Go fuck yourself

Remaster (also digital remastering and digitally remastered) refers to enhancing the quality of the sound or of the image, or both, of previously created recordings, either audiophonic, cinematic, or videographic.

I guess they had to sacrifice graphics for sound quality.

How in the fuck? They destroyed the original "art style" of the game

>When a game is shit on console
LOL CONSOLES
>When a game is shit on PC
I-ITS A SHITTY PORT

Arkham City and Asylum, you know the ones on OP's remaster picture, can run on toasters

If you are talking about Knight I maxed it out on a shitty 280x after touching some .ini

>if a game looks and plays like shit, vastly under-performing its contemporaries on PC, it's not the PC's fault, it's the game's fault
>if a game looks and plays like shit, vastly under-performing its contemporaries on a console, it's all the console's fault and never the game's fault

>tfw when I can run Arkham series on ultra (at 1920x1080) even on my shitty macbook

Good to see you're a sheep to Rocksteady Studios who wants you to have that exact mindset so you buy the game on console and help them fulfill their contract to Sony and Microsoft who you are also a sheep towards in doing so

...

I don't buy shitty games

...

aren't you people always saying it's better since it's easier to design a game when all systems have the same hardware? When that standard hardware STILL can't perform I think it's safe to blame it

>those were prerendered before!!
>hurr durr they changed the models WTF!
>that's a comparison to PC on max, of course it looked better!
>WTF how did they mess up the game so badly!!?!?
>maybe it runs at 60fp!

Shut up retards. It's a lazy port to UE4 from UE3. It's practice for WB's studios, they honestly don't care how it looks. It's a bad product, but stop being retarded about why.

Never had a single crash with Arkham Knight. Its unoptimized, I will give you that, but if you have a gaymin pc you can run it at 60 fps no issues.

Regarding DaS 1 and 2, pc is still the best platform to play them. Dunno about DaS3 since I didnt buy it yet.

Batman is mexican ?

That's what happens when you outsource it to a Chinese shit firm, what the fucking hell were they thinking?

>Its a conspiracy, them consoles tryna keep PC down

Ya lo sabes, guey.

Everything in the remaster looks worse, including the framerate

I blame Sony for this "Remastered" meme

I can guarantee, that the Hugo Strange scene in the OP is NOT pre.rendered, because you can move the camera in it

Remastered doesn't mean better you fucking idiot. Furthermore what is better is entirely subjective and the remastered version imo looks way better than the original. Eat shit jackass, sage.

KEK

You can have a camera function in pre-rendered scenes.

>Call the new version "Remasted"
>Looks worse than versions running on PC hardware from 5 years ago

No wonder Sony and M$ are in a rush to release 4K versions of their consoles

No, you cannot.

is this on track to be the worst remaster since Twin Snakes?

Hi WB

At least that had some funny shit. This is just shit.

So... Is this the world record for quickest remastering. Or are there even faster examples?

You are retarded.

>those eyebrows and beard

WTF are you talking about? Arkham Asylum came out in 2009, and Arkham City in 2011, which means the remaster was made 5 years after the games were released.

The Last of Us got its remaster ONE year after the release.

This. That's why I was confused so much at first and thinking all these comparisons had swapped pictures.

It seems most people are still under the impression rocksteady is doing the remaster.

Shit like this is why Im glad I jumped from consoles to PC, I can still play all previous gen games easily and dont need "remastered" editions to play them again on newer hardware.

[vomits externally]

I agree, it look horrible. How could this slip past WB's PR team?

...

>Age of Mythology Extended Edition changes
WAKE ME UP

>they didn't even bother to fix/replace the "bug eyes" on every thug
>they look worse

that HAS to be troll

...

this is probably the only good thing I could pick out of the video.

Overall it's just different (in most cases worse) textures on things, removal of almost all fog and distance blurring of buildings/scenery, and going overboard on lighting

all it needs is comic sans and it's literally Silent Hill HD

When making a PC port there's the problem of no 2 people's PC's are exactly alike, they'll have different components and different software (OS versions, updates on their OS's, drivers), so optimization becomes the driving challenge behind making a PC port because you have to anticipate all these different hardware and software configurations.

With a Console, you have a standard set of hardware and software to work with, the optimization should be easy.

When a game worse on a console than the PC version, it's not due to the developers being unable to optimize for the console, it's due to the console's capabilities being a limiting factor.

Meanwhile PC's can have hardware that VASTLY outperforms anything in any console, but if the developer can't take advantage of the potential available, well, that's their fault, not the hardware's.

at what point are they going to start remastering games before they're even released?

I guarantee they're already working on Uncharted 4 HD, so probably soon.

>You cant make shitty console ports
>PCfats actually believe this

Fucking christ. Any more from Gears?

This. It's one of the worst cases of a studio getting cucked literally.

Improvement isn't always a good thing you stupid dick bags.

BANE?

You can. I mean, Bayonetta on the PS3 I've heard had performance issues and the 360 version was considered better, despite the PS3 having more processing power (and disk storage space)..

But I'd say 9/10 if a game looks better on PC than Consoles, it's due to consoles having worse hardware than the PC you're seeing the screenshots and footage from.

are you denying that consoles have older and less powerful hardware (even at the time of their launch) than what's available for PC parts?

of course you can, but the thing is it's only a port if it's been ported from another version, and in the case of the shitshow that was Knight for example, and most likely this as well, console is definitely the base, with the PC version being the port (read: afterthought)

yes it is

This can't even be called 'improvement', this is objectively worse than the originals.

All im saying that this disastrous port is not shitty looking because of underpowered hardware, its because incompetency

Okay. That was cute and right in the open for anyone to take. Good job.

But yeah, seriously, this "remaster" is questionable. The game doesn't look bad, viewed in isolation, but it looks worse than just playing on PC, and the game has been on sale so much. I got all the games for like $10 total but no reason to go through them a third time since I exhausted myself on 360 versions. I do need to play blackgate prison or w/e its called though.

This was during beta test.

Final product does not look like this.

I'd love to see UC4 in 60fps. But I doubt they are working on that.

I still want--no-- NEED a Demons Souls Remastered

Would love a VF5 Remastered.

Would definitely purchase Ninja Gaiden Sigma/2/3RE again.

Surprised Sony hasn't remastered Motostorm series or Infamous 1 and 2.

Why does it even need a remaster?
It's fine as it is..

Fucking money hoarders.

this pretty much

the PC port of Asylum was a remaster by all means except name, and City still holds up to this day

Oh in this case I don't doubt it. The PS4 and Xbone are more powerful than their predecessors,

This was a lazy port if the 360/PS3 versions look better than the Xbone/PS4.

I think what I'm trying to boil it down to is if a game looks worse on newer/more powerful hardware, then it's due to it being a shitty port/developer incompetence.

But if it looks better on newer/more powerful hardware, then the older/less powerful hardware was the limiting factor. A game SHOULD look better on newer/more powerful hardware.. and as it happens.. PC's will always potentially be newer and more powerful than the consoles.

It's impossible for the reverse to be true as long as console manufacturers contract PC component manufacturers to make their shit for them. All 3 console manufacturers contract out to AMD to make their GPU's, Nintendo contracted out IBM to make their CPU, Microsoft and Sony both used AMD to make their CPUs as well.

Only way you could possibly have higher specs on a launching console would be to make your components yourself, and be making them more high powered than what's anticipated on the PC market in your launch window... and that will still be temporary as since consoles are not modular and upgradeable, PC's will soon pass them up again.

Consoles are for convenience/ease of use and for exclusive games (particularly for Nintendo and Sony, Microsoft doesnt' do much exclusives wise), not for power/best possible performance and graphics.

>City always crashes at the end of the Freeze fight
>have to roll back GPU drivers if I want to finish the game
fuck that noise

so they can sell it to you again for the new console generation.

Though because the PS4 isn't backwards compatible, there might be some small market of people who would like to play the Arkham games but didn't have a 7th gen console or PC for them, so this bundle might be nice for them even if it's not as good as the 7th gen versions.

But they need to pad out those sales numbers by getting people to buy it a second time.

that's weird

I only had problems with Asylum because of that nvidia supersample or whatever shit it had, City never crashed for me

It's fucking enraging. I've only finished City twice because of it, whereas I've done Asylum at least half a dozen times.

But then I've always thought Asylum was a better game.

>I've always thought Asylum was a better game.
Because it is. City also crashed on me now and then. But I still think it was a fine sequel. Wish I could play Knight.
