It depends on what you mean by better, because that depends on what you want and look for in a game.

Not even trolling when I say that I actually agree with you, OP. The Souls games have been one amazing game after the other, and it has caused me to feel that everything else I've played since them is just nowhere near as entertaining.

Yes I don't have a list, because I don't know what you want out of a video game that may or may not be better than Dark Souls. I could recommend Devil May Cry 3, which easily outclasses Dark Souls' combat in complexity and indeed rivals it in art direction. But DMC3 does not have the open nature or as in depth lore as any Souls game, nor is the combat as weighty.

When the other user mentioned Deus Ex, I would say it's a possible rival. The open nature of the levels and the innumerable ways you can tackle an objective, from 2001 at that, make it one helluva game. The themes and narrative are nothing to sneeze at either. But if you're not a fan of FPS/RPG hybrids then of course you wouldn't like Deus Ex.

So yes, it depends on what you want from a game. I can give you a list of games you may like if you liked Souls if you want.

Although your point is valid, mine is more on a global game scale. After playing DMC3, did you feel the game is overall better than Souls series game? What of Deus Ex? I'm not simply talking 1 aspect of gaming, but as an overall game itself. Were you satisfied with those games? Were they more satisfying than souls series?

I personally simply want to hear your own perspective on what is to be considered better overall game.

I thought my post was apparent I prefer Souls games over all else but hey. Deus Ex hmmm, honestly I couldn't say. Deus Ex is a really fucking good game. I don't know about better because they're simply too different to compare in that regard. Fuck it yeah it ain't better than Souls for me.

Oh you know what, the first Unreal just might be on the same level of Souls games for me. You oughta try that. It's an exploratory FPS game where you play a prisoner whose prison barge has crashed on a planet. You traverse the planet's surface, caverns, other derelict ships as you piece together exactly what has happened on the planet, and the history of the planet's indigenous peoples. Yeah I'd definitely put it on the same level as the Souls games.

CK2, EU3, civ 5, mount and blade: warband, STALKER series, dorf fort, f: nv, divinity: os, enter the gungeon, FTL, dota 2

I tried Ys I and II after one of these "Sup Forums recommend" threads.
And both games were fucking great. But for reason, I don't feel like trying a new Ys game anymore.

All that we ask is that you help other anons that aren't obnoxious when asking for help with this. The more people who know, hopefully the less amount of saucefags that we'll get
