I've played both Uncharted 4 and Overwatch and by god are they incredibly overrated.
Hell the only reason I think they're getting as much praise as they are is because of the developers associated with them: Naughty Dog and Blizzard. Both of whom have such hardcore dedicated fanbases that think they can do no wrong.
Splatoon got best multiplayer last year.
Super Mario Maker last year was a GOTY nominee for a lot of outlets including The Game Awards. In 2013 it was Super Mario 3D World, also Gamespot gave their GOTY to Zelda: A Link Between Worlds that year. Don't think they had anything solid in 2012.

But I suspect it's going to be yet another 'cool for the first 40/45 minutes' and then gets very boring very quickly thereafter but still gets 9/10's across the board

No other game coming up right now is on the same scale or scope of XV, pushing the level of visuals, art direction, tech, music, animation, polish etc as XV is doing. The only game that comes close is DEMD, but that isn't even open world and achieving all that XV is.
I keep hoping they'll make content that actually has stopping power value for more than 20 minutes, but all of it comes back to the round about of "b-but infinite worlds!"
I'm looking forward to Zero Time Dilemma, SMT IV Apocalypse, Etrian Odyssey V, Persona 5, and Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice. Honestly any of those could be my personal GOTY, we'll see how it goes.
I'm skeptical of Mankind Divided and FFXV, might pick them up if they're good but I'm not getting hyped. Too much potential for disappointment. I don't give a single fuck about Uncharted 4, Overwatch, or No Man's Sky.

While it may end up being the better game, there is absolutely no chance of Persona 5 outselling FFXV. Even if XV underperforms it'll sell 5-6 million copies easy. Persona 5 will be lucky to sell 2 million.
