>Does this version of the game fix most of the problems?
It fixes some of the areas with terrible enemy placement, it makes the torch more useful, and it adds a lot of NPC invaders and summons. On console it has better visuals and 60fps, on PC it's identical to the original. The most noteworthy thing is that it includes all the DLC, which is the best content in the game and some of the best in the entire series.

>I dropped the original DS2 within the first 2 hours.
Then you wouldn't even know what those problems were, you just have second-hand information from clueless tards on Sup Forums. Try thinking for yourself sometime.

It's still shit since the combat is unresponsive and floaty as fuck.

Also the ""improved"" enemy placement is even worse than the original

The hitboxes are still fucked

the dlc is garbage
ds1 dlc was way more entertaining

No, it's still the worst game of all time. Don't play it. You're better off jabbing yourself in the eye with a fork for 3 hours. That is how bad DaS2 is. It is LITERALLY the greatest sin committed by video games.

first post best post

This is what Sup Forums unironically believes.

>memeing this hard

>doesn't fix stupid design decisions

No

>I dropped the original DS2 within the first 2 hours.

You obviously won't like the game even with the DLC, nice pointless thread

It has best boss.

The multi quote shitposter strikes again. I wonder why you even bother wasting bandwidth.

>which is the best content in the game

as someone who played the the DLC, this is bullshit.

Sunken King is badly designed like the rest of the game.

Do not get Scholar of the First Sin

locked behind bullshit DLC

>Sunken King is badly designed

Out of the three DLCs, you picked the one with god-tier level design to meme on.

it's the only one I played.

Never touched the others due to the very bad impression I got from Sunken King

Why though? It's as close to a Zelda-type game the souls series ever got close to.
Out of the three, Ivory King has the weakest level design, but it has best final boss presentation.

>Why though?

it looks nice but :
it's a bitch to navigate + horrible enemy placement + plus everything being very resistant to my entire arsenal (poison arrows, hexes, fire longsword, lighting magic, regular magic) = a really bad designed DLC that I quit before I got to a boss

It's Dark Souls 2, so that means it's badly designed and awful in every way.

I disagree wih you on the "horrible enemy placement" and "bitch to navigate" but I guess we'll have to agree on disagreeing.

First post best post.
>as someone who played the the DLC
>Sunken King is badly designed
How to spot a liar.

Ds2 and SOTFS are the best co-op souls games. Lots of enemies and bosses with Adds gives multiple players more to do. Add in having the most diversity with builds and everyone can be doing completely different things in a fight and still be effective.

Ds1 is good but with lack of bosses scaling with you they become a joke and there's not really enough enemies for the second player to fight either

Ds3 is a bit better than ds1 in this regard because bosses and enemies do scalem but the hit first to win combat really drags it down

I unfortunately never got the chance to play Demons Co-op but apparently that was a good time.

i have a question. do you guys read walkthroughs or read hints as to where to go for dlc stuff? i remember a friend telling me that i missed a ton of dark souls 1 dlc because i couldn't find anything. i played the ds2 and i'm not sure i did everything especially because i don't know what is dlc and what is not. Also another question, do you guys read stratigies on how to deal with bosses or how to level up and stuff? Just curious how many of you do that, i can't bring myself to do it even though i'm missing out

>How to spot a lair

Can't admit that the DLC is as flawed as the rest of the game?

>can't admit I'm objectively wrong?

ayy

>Fume Knight
Not even this sub par boss can save DaS2 from being the shittiest souls game ever made.

blind first run, guides on successive runs

How am I wrong. Sunken King was shit like the rest of the game

Souls game are all shit anyway.

>makes the torch more useful

What.

From what I remember it didn't do jack shit with torches, you still give out a bright white glow out of your body.

I disagree with you. Therefore you are wrong.

ez

Don't get the last gen version since it doesn't include the changed enemy and item placements.

No user , only DaS2 is shitty the other souls games are good.

where do you get your information?

The other games are good if you have brain cancer, have never played Severance: Blade of Darkness and are 11.

Combat is still a mess, the game still feels like it's imitating a Souls game rather than being an official entry in the series. Some of the more superficial issues are fixed, though, and it does include DLC.

you actually get something for lighting the scones in the areas now I think.Got a red phantom to come out in the area right after the old hags in the beginning of the game.

>where do you get your information?

gamefaqs, threads on Sup Forums and /vg/

If you can get used to the sluggier combat and boring first half (i.e. most of vanilla), you'll be greeted by a cool npc and make your way to the good parts: the DLC.

So why are you posting on a souls thread if you don't like the games?

Lighting the statue in the Undead Crypt will give you agita too.

>HURRR DARK SOUL 2 BAD CUZ YOUTUBE VIDEO TELL ME LOL MUH B TEAM I CANT FORM MY OWN OPINIONS I JUST PARROT EVERYTHING I SEE ON Sup Forums BECAUSE I AM AN AUTISTIC FAGGOT THANK YOU MATTHEWPHIMOSIS FOR HELPING ME FORM THESE SHITTY OPINIONS GOD BLESS BASED MIYAZAKI FOR CREATING ALL OF THE SOULS GAMES EXCEPT 2 AND I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY OF THE GLARING FLAWS IN THE OTHER GAMES BECAUSE MIYAZAKI CAN DO NO WRONG DUDE B TEAM LMAO

this is you right now

So why are you posting in a DS2 thread if you don't like the game?
That's right.

you took the time to do this?

What's a good weapon to infuse magic/enchanted in SotFS? I'm not planning to raise STR/DEX much higher than 10, might go 10/16 for Uchi since I've not yet used DEX weapons in 2. If it means anything, I'm playing with a friend and I'm mostly spell support.

I've posted this in three threads, I feel embarrassed for myself.

>>HURRR DARK SOUL 2 BAD CUZ YOUTUBE VIDEO TELL ME

joke's on you, I actually played it so your strawman will not work on me

OP is asking if SOTFS fixes the mess that was DaS2 , so I came to post my opinion on a game that I have played and felt that it was shit from beginning to end

And I'm arguing about your dubious taste in games.

So you played 50 hours of a game that you hated, that's nice

>OP is asking if SOTFS fixes the mess that was DaS2

and it does not

Ds1 and Des I had a lot spoiled for me since I saw playthroughs before I played the game

Ds1 dlc I looked up how to get to the dlc, but played it blind

Ds2 I played completely blind on first playthrough and only looked up stuff on ng+

also played SOTFS mostly blind but I saw all of the dlc bosses before I played and never played the dlc until then.

BB was blind. Missed Cainhurst Castle, which is apparently the best area but I have no desire to replay the game for it or the dlc

Ds3 was as blind as it could be, but considering everyone already knew everything player messages spoiled everything.

really sucks that I didn't get to play the best games blind.

Longsword is always a safe bet.

>Cainhurst Castle, which is apparently the best area

worst area next to forbidden woods IMO

Well I got DaS2 on release and was really disappointed with it so I decided to skip the DLC.I bought BB and loved it and the DLC was really good so it got me thinking that from had released an update to DaS2 and a lot of people said it was really good so I went and got scholar and still felt like the game was shit.
No it doesn't fix the problems in fact in some parts its worse and the hit boxes are still a mess.

DaS1 is still the worst Souls game simply because everything after the Soulvessel is just bad.

Lost Izalith and the Demon Ruins are worse than any area in DaS2 and every boss after SV is just a lackluster like Nito or complete garbage Bed of Chaos or Centipede Demon.

Put people keep praising this shit simply because they like the lore. But sorry - Gameplay weights more.

How is a rehashing of a shit area and an empty cavern more entertaining?

because it was decently designed, something that DaS2 did not have in Sunken King

DaS2 is shit deal with it kiddo.

The only thing it had for itself were some pointless shortcuts. The rest is either flat lands or straight tunnels. It had SOME secrets, but not nearly as any as Shulva.

Don't care if you call DaS2 shit or not.
I am only saying that DaS1 is worse. Which is a fact.

Not any of those guys but I played the game and I didn't enjoy it very much. Is that not something I'm allowed to feel?

NO DELETE THIS HAHA DS2 IS SHIT

No the title of worst souls game belongs to DaS2.

they will still lump you in with the people who they think only watched some review of DaS2 and never played it

>because it was decently designed
Sunken king is basically the same shit as the Artorias DLC when it comes to level and enemy design, the only real difference is the areas they take place
Oolacile
>Vertical design with elevators
>Enemies are old inhabitants of the land who went insane with the darkness, witches and soldiers
Sunken king
>Vertical design with elevators
>Enemies are old inhabitants of the land who went insane with the darkness, witches and soldiers
You have autism.

youtube.com/watch?v=ztPGThfD_GY

if its requires Souls to be in the title I'd say 3 is the worst, but if Bloodborne counts than I say it takes it no contest.

>people actually enjoyed fighting the Ayslum Demon
>people actually enjoyed fighting the farting Ayslum Demon
>people actually enjoyed fighting the burning farting Asylum Demon
>people actually enjoyed falling into the pits of Bed of Chaos
>people actually enjoyed the snoozefest of a fight that is Moonlight Butterfly
>people actually enjoyed fighting the Taurus Demon a million times
>people actually enjoyed fighting the Capra Demon a million times
>people actually enjoyed the DPS gank that is Four Kings
>people actually enjoyed watching Nito deal with his own skeletons
>people actually enjoyed running around Seath in hunt for his tail
>people actually enjoyed parrying the final boss Gwyn to death in 5 seconds making the entire climax a desaster

Sunken King is shit.
Try and defend the queen's boss fight senpai.
PROTIP: You can't

everyone knows Izalith is shit. if you have 30 humanity you can skip most of it fortunately

except there is one big difference you forgot to mention:

Oolacile is in Dark Souls 1's DLC. Which is a well designed game

Sunken king is in Dark Souls 2's DLC. It's badly designed like the rest of Dark Souls 2.

The enemies, layouts and bosses are extremely different, how can you even compare them outside of they are both DLC?

Sure they both have elevators, but that's every area of both of the games

90% of DS1 is shit after you got the soul vessel.

If not for the DLC DS1 would only have like 2 actually decent bossfights out of over 20.

the real question is, does it fix the shitty "optional" bosses?

>if its requires Souls to be in the title I'd say 3 is the worst
Are we not talking about souls games? and no BB shits all over DaS2 , I think DaS2 was your first souls game so you think its the shit when is not.

On the contrary, it's a battle that changes from the usual and worn-out "get in the arena and face that enemy 1 on 1".

>queen's boss fight
I've honestly never understood the hate that goes around Sup Forums when it comes to that boss, she's easy as hell if she summons the skeletons. She's annoying, but that's really it about her.
Oh, you're just shitposting.

I never came across this outfit in Ds 1

How the hell do you get it? What is it called?

It fixes nothing user, DaS2 is just a shit game but to be fair the game had to be redone from scratch more than half way though development.

It fixes the most problems that the base game shouldn't have had.

Like Soul Memory

And hitting corpses degrading weapons

That said, I still love it.

ds2s dlc was the worst dlc ever, how could you defend that homosexual trio ds2 calls a boss

Channeler's. It's in a chest in the Archives.

>if
being the key word. I just love bossfights boiling down to a dice roll. I also like recycled bosses that get summoned during other bosses for no reason.

>complaining about optional bosses
ayy

Then it's still a shit game and can be a reminder that from, without the lead dev, makes garbage.

I heard they've announced they're making another souls game without him.
And history will repeat itself.

>Oh, you're just shitposting.

says the guy defending Dark Souls 2

Holy fuck no. AllI remember from DS1 DLC is Artorias and Manus and the fucking claustrophobic forest and cave I had to sprint to get to them.

But Stray/Firesage or Champion Gundyr are completely okay, though.

>I dropped the original DS2 within the first 2 hours.

I swear that you idiots just base your opinions on what others on the internet tell you. I prefer 2 to 1, and I played 1 first.

>Stray/Firesage
They're recycled but not DURING ANOTHER BOSSFIGHT
>Gundyr
Haven't played 3 yet senpai

says the guy posting smug anime faces

That's stupid though, if she summons Velstadt you just kill him, he has a really tiny health bar compared to her if you're not using a rapier, it's also dumb for you to make it seem like a strange thing in dark souls to have something unexpected happen while playing, the invasion system on itself is a dice roll.

if you really wanted to hit him hard on them recycling things in a game.
Every boss in daso3 'transforms'

Just like bloodborne.

and don't get me wrong, I love both bloodborne and 3, but it's pretty shit that he just took mechanics from a technically non-souls game and put them in a souls game.

Nah I just want to wallow in shitposting like him.

>Recycled bosses are better than a boss summoning a recycled boss as a regular enemy
Autism.

Des was my first and Das1 was my favorite.

Das3's combat sucks since its mostly hit them before they hit you and most of its level design was big open spaces with trees

BB had a similar problem, but instead of hitting enemies first it was just use charge attacks to win. Level design is better than ds3 and ds2, but that doesnt mean much when your combat sucks. Environments were also way to samey and it got old really fast seeing the same gothic cathedrals everywhere. Henwick was the only breath of fresh air you got in the game

DELETE THIS

at least I can back up why the DaS2 DLC is ass.

You have been going "nope" "you're wrong" "shitposter" "autism"

>mfw all these sunken king hater cucks who never witnessed the glory that is King's Field IV and haven't had a hit of nostalgia and awe at Shulva literally being the Ancient City

Cucks, the lot of you

To each their own I guess , I felt BB was really good in the combat dept and loved all the areas in the game.As for DaS3 I feel the combat is better than DaS2 in every way.DaS2 feels like you're fighting underwater and adding a stat like agility just made things worse.
