Who cautiously optimistic here?

Who cautiously optimistic here?
>only a little more than a week away

Hopefully the Nidhoog/Estenien fight isn't underwhelming seeing how it's supposedly going to cap off the Dragonsong War before the eventual future patches will start prepping us for wherever we're going for 4.0.

>Doma (Samurai and hey if we're going to be traveling by boat, why not throw Viking there too)
>Ala Mihgo (Maybe Master Monk like FFTA2)
>Garlea (I wish just for Gunblades I just want glamour so I can look like a Judge from XII)

More of the same shite.

Pretty hyped for Final Steps of Faith though. Everything else is shaping up to be the usual braindead contents (Aquapolis, Palace of the Dead etc.)

I just want more quests where I get to kill random Miqo'te NPCs. Preferably Imperials, but whatever will do.

Is there something wrong with me?

Are you a lalafell?

Maybe some decent players will return and I don't have to deal with 240 dps monks in dutyfinder.

>been stuck on phase 4 of 5 in a8s for a month now
>I still fuck up the execution dps check once in a while as SMN in phase 1

I can hear the frustration in my static's voices and before they even say anything I feel like killing myself for letting them down

It'll all be worth it, r-right guys?

I'm no potato.

Why do you keep raiding if 99% of the time all you feel is remorse?

If you're only fucking up once in a while, that means they must be fucking up the rest of the time. So suck it up, drill your rotation a few thousand times, and if they still can't make it move on.

Who only do the current EX Trials here?

Can't really be bothered with Savages.

Pretty much. EX trials can be done with a little bit of learning. Savage is a bit much for my liking.

But hey if you can do savage, congrats.

Ala Mhigo looks the most likely right now because of what 2.55 set up, and what Yda/Pap is up to.

That being said, it's not the way you think it is. Ala Mhigan citizens for the most part WANTED to become part of the Garlean empire. The Ala Mhigan king was mad with power and was slaughtering his own people. They wanted revolution, and Gaius brought it, decades before 1.0 even begins. Now they're a fully Garlean region, and probably way better off than they were before. That's what makes the majority of the Little Ala Mhigo citizens' actions very ironic.

Ala Mhigo concept art already exists from way back in 2.0. It's all but confirmed to be the 4.0 area.

Current batch of savage turns is pretty nice. Good mix of execution requirements and mechanics/positional awareness.

For that 1% as elusive as it may feel. Plus I don't want to let my friends down by quitting on them now.

I can't really practice it, granted, I have pretty much every GCD mapped out but it's really close to the wire in most cases if I get a megabeam+seed and have to move during my Ruin3 spam while in DWT - even more so if none of my R3s crit.

Post nerf a6s is on the same level as Sephirot. If a bunch of degenerates on Balmung's PF can clear it, so should you. Give it a shot, you may like it.

Doing Savage isn't really that hard.

The challenge of raiding is always, first and foremost, finding seven or nine or nineteen or twenty four or thirty nine other people you are compatible and can synchronize with. Especially when learning.

It'll by and large be the same-old same-old. But its usually comfy enough to keep me around.

a6s? You mean a5s right? no retard group is getting to vortexer.

But then I'd probably have to actually learn how to be a good monk. Only pulling about 1500 dps on a training dummy, now.

No, I meant a6s including Vortexer. Assuming everyone with 230 weapons, you should be more than fine.

>finding seven or nine or nineteen or twenty four or thirty nine other people you are compatible and can synchronize with.

And that's literally the hardest part. That's why I'm not bothering with it.

>sub ends in 14 days
>will be able to smash out the story and only the story and leave on a good note of the game without having to worry about any other nonsensical shit

Soon I will be free. My future looks so bright.

>Who cautiously optimistic here?
I want to be but I can't. I can't trust them to not fuck everything up. Palace will be figuratively dead in a month and literally dead once 3.4 hits

At least it's going to be only 4 people clusterfuck instead of god knows how many people clusterfuck like Dinosaurs killing in Diadumb.

>Doing Savage isn't really that hard.
Bullshit, many people spend over 24 hours trying to clear one of the fights
Savage is always time consuming when they first come out
People who say savage is easy have too much time on their hands and raided every day until they cleared.
Which is really hard for most people to do

>>will be able to smash out the story and only the story and leave on a good note of the game without having to worry about any other nonsensical shit

Nigga you won't even see 3.3 in 14 days

I don't think I've heard anyone say Savage is fun either or worth it. People I talk to in game either complain or feel relieved that it's cleared, quite different feeling compared to beating other super bosses in the series.

I thought it was coming out in like, just under 2 weeks?

I'm confused.

Are the dungeons revealed by the dragonskin maps designed for 4 people or 8 people?

Is it different from that random progression dungeon they talk about, or is it the same?

Up to 8, I believe. So you could probably do it with less if you're good just like the maps themselves.
The random progression dungeon is the Palace of the Dead they revealed.

The """""dungeon""""" will literally be a 1 minute walk down a hallway to a miniboss that you kill for worthless treasure that will have no worth on the MB after 2 days.

I'm just fucking with ya, it comes out June 7th

The only 'hard' content I've done is attunement in Wildstar, but it's certainly soured me to the whole hardcore scene.

Like you said it's not even fun just dying again and again until you get that perfect silver/gold run where no one dies and you complete the dungeon on time. It's just a 5 minute 'yay we did it' and then it dawns on you that it took 20 fucking tries.

So it's just wasted assets and no different from regular treasure hunts? Why do I get the feeling everyone just says yes to Yoshida's ideas without questioning it.

>love the game but stop playing for a while because I'm busy with work
>want to get back into it but so undergeared (i207) that I can't do anything even remotely quickly or up to my group's standards
>going to be even worse next patch

Just end me.

Doable with

Because they're good ideas they just don't work in a game with vertical progression

So... it's exactly like an instanced treasure map.

Because he's da FF14 saviour.

I'm hype for that nidhogg fight, for the music if nothing else. That bit that you could hear in the trailer was great. Just hope the fight is actually fun and I can find some not retarded people to beat it with. Sephirot """"""""clear"""""""" parties that couldn't beat the first phase was just awful

3.3 like 3.1 is just catch up shit you're not missing out. kinda envious really, still got 20 days left but I quit now before it ends that means my money is wasted.

Exactly. Now get back to getting your savage clears because apparently thats all that matters.

I've been able to solo some dragonskin maps on my WHM (well, with my chocobo) and I have a tank friend who is decent. I'm hoping we could do it ourselves... but, a DPS couldn't hurt I guess.

what's this """"""meme""""""

What's this about infinite solo dungeons? I unsubbed last year, thinking about resubbing for 2 months.

HOUSING OVERHAUL

The housing system has been redesigned to better fit our originally intended vision as follows:
Ward Abolition: Each housing area (such as Mist) will no longer be divided into separate wards or subdivisions. Instead, all housing plots will exist within a single space and occupy a unique position on the map. As such, the physical size of the housing neighborhoods is much larger!
Ward Defense: Using the new "Expansion of Duties Permit - Defender" item, players will be able to appoint retainers as guardians of their personal and free company estates. Likewise, all housing areas are now open PvP areas. Players in your party and/or free company are considered friendly. Others are considered enemy.
Plot Capture: Upon successfully conquering an enemy estate, the property's interior and exterior can be looted and the housing plot can be claimed as loot. Those involved in the successful attack will lot for the new "Conquered Housing Deed" item which allows the player to take ownership of the plot as a new personal or free company estate.

>People who say savage is easy have too much time on their hands and raided every day until they cleared.

I raided for 3 nights a week for 3 hours a night, after week 3 I was on a7s

if you consider 9 hours a week a lot then I don't know what to say

Kill yourself.

>tried clearing from day 1 and been at it for 2 weeks
>friends were clearing it when I'm either at work or in bed so couldn't with them
I don't want to make it sound like another generic Sup Forums "everyone's a shitter but me!" post but I really did know the entire fight like the back of my hand, most of the wipes came from people panicking because they had Earth Shaker icons over their heads. The worst part about fiend is doing phase 1 all over and again and waiting for the 30 second transition to phase 3.

LOL

Let my sub run out last month. Tried to keep my static on life support even though people were quitting for RL reasons. Kept trying to rebuild and new people sucked, causing others to quit the game. Couldn't get any savage cleared because, once again, 90% of people that play this game blow ass, and the other 10% already have solid groups like what my old group used to be.

I'd love to play again but it'll be frustrating trying to make a new static or join one that consistently clears stuff.

Do you really have fun doing the same fight for 3 hours? Good for you if you enjoy the content, I just don't understand doing savage, no fun at all to me

>new Wildfire animation coming 3.3

WHO /MCH/ HERE

GAUSS BARREL TOGGLE SOON in 4.0

There is no fucking doma it got WIPED OFF THE MAP BY THE GARLEANS

Gauss Barrel hiding is already coming in 3.3

Only for you though.

So, people who have cleared savage have nothing to brag about because it's easy?

Good to know.

I know, the fight honestly wasn't that hard but people just couldn't do it. Thankfully my fc eventually got together to clear it, and then I could get into farm groups. Even those still had fuck ups but much higher chance of victory

>that FFIX battle theme remix in the new raid
Might be the only saving grace of this patch. Void Ark in 3.1 was so boring.

eh?

What? Really? Its client side only?

Fucking gay, but whatever that's a start I guess.

I really hates Void Ark's aesthetic.

Fucking ugly purple shit everywhere.

Thank fuck they're moving away from that.

>Void Ark in 3.1 was so boring.
All the 24 mans were because they decided that they have to be braindead easy

learning the fight with friends and having a good time is worth it

the reasons to do savage is difficult (for FFXIV at least) challenges, and loot. In 2.X you could also have added really good story to it, but square decided to give everyone a shit story.

I don't brag, nothing in FFXIV is hard, its just memorization. There is no skill check outside of paying attention, everyone is capable of clearing anything.

Varies from person to person but is A4S doable without team speak of voice programs? Anyone got experience doing it without?

do really think spending over 24 hours just to clear two fights is "easy"?
People who say savage is easy after they are done with progression are full of shit.
Yeah, of course its easy after you have it on farm dipshits.
Yes, 9 hours a week is a lot of time for people

>everyone is capable of clearing anything.

Even the bard who does 249 dps?

If everyone in your team is good at paying attention (protip: that never happens, even top team used VoIP to alert members), then yes.

Speaking of bard, when will we get instrument off hands?

>just came back from about 6 months of not playing
>caught story up from 3.0 and got WAR up to almost ilevel 210

Any point in doing much else until the new patch?
About the only thing I have not caught up on barring extreme modes is the second half of Alexander.

Is this some fucking WoW shit?

>there are people who are still subbed to this game
Didn't the latest census show an active population of 270K?

Samurai is the only thing that can make me come back to this shit

Might want to get an iLevel 220 weapon, at least. Depends on the secondaries, though.

Even if it's just PLD with Mudra?

I just upgraded my axe to 210 tonight, the 220 comes from sep extreme right? Those are usually a pretty big pain.

>wanting to play a class that will make you play just as bad as Paladins

Well, maybe it'll be easier in the upcoming patch to get the 230 weapon. Secondaries are kinda shit but should still be an upgrade from 210.

Ballad Nidhoggr will be the new thing, also shiny weapon glamz.
I'm optimistic.

Where did Kamigawa go wrong?

What do you guys think Nidhogg!Estinien's ultimate attack will be called? The one we see by the end of the trailer that looks like the ultimate DRG Jump. Dragonsong dive would be my guess if it wasn't already the name of our DRG LB3.

Final Dragonsong Dive.

He'll Stack Up "Blood of the Great Wyrm"
and then do his "Wyrmsong Dive."

>tfw it does nothing in Normal mode

Double Nignog drive.

Are specialist actions for crafters any good? I mean, I've tried them but they honestly seem pretty shit and a waste of CP most of the time.

What are some Free Company red flags?

if you have all the other crossclass skills then yeah

they're ass

but if you don't for some reason you can use them in place of all the skills a normal person would use

>Casual AND hardcore friendly
>We're a family
>We're saving up for a house
>Roleplayers (80% of the time this means ERP, 19% of the time it's Edge McEdgelord and his band of mercs)
>No drama allowed (There will be plenty)
>We try and help people (They won't, especially if it isn't relevant content)
>Lalafell only

>>We're a family
>>We try and help people
Add 500 member FC's cause it's relevant to those two points. People who claim their tightknit or whatever really mean it's the same 5-6 people talking to each other.

Don't ever join Tonberry bros, everyone shits on it for being the most stereotypical FC around

This is pretty accurate, and coming from a lala player the "lala only" part of the player base is straight cancer. Like literally worse than cat girl faggots.

>We're saving up for a house

Sometimes I wonder just how much money Ramah and his cronies scammed out of his Company before finally deciding they couldn't shift the goal posts any further and bought the house.

Though I haven't seen Ramah in ages. Guess he finally quit?

On Balmung there's a pretty heavy contingent of Roe-centric groups as well. It's just as cancerous.

>balmung
>roes

I bet they're all female and roleplay having a 3 foot long cock

>I have 3 houses
>Bought my first one with 2 weeks of grinding
>These are FCs with 10+ players who can't even afford 1

A lot of them, yeah. 90% of the time a femroe will have a dick.

They're pretty fucking aggressive too. I have myself marked down as a roleplayer in my search info and I've gotten 2 disgusting roe-dickgirl PMs on my catgirl, and my own female roegadyn has been approached by at least 6 of them looking to lock meatswords, or something.

>>Lalafell only
Took a while but I notice people who play races normally fall into stereotypes like in real life.

Miqote and Lalafell are both either extremely condescending and passive aggressive with how they play or talk in discussion or they're absolute shit and have no interest in actually playing the game have one job at 60 with minimum ilvl gear and just spam emotes all day while seeing the game as a paid chat room. Don't care how people play, but the latter part of the stereotype usually ruin dungeon runs for other people.

I don't have any crafts at 60 so my only source of money is the weekly materia V.

It was a scam on a fairly impressive epic scale. The FC with the largest population on Ultros got that way by inviting literally anyone they could, then begged them for any money they could spare to sponsor the house. This went on for months.

>Niggas think we're liberating Ala Mhigo or anything of the sort
We'll have to go West towards Sharlayan so we can unite the entire Eorzea Nation.
Going East towards Ala Mhigo and attempting to retake it would only stop all the kerfuffle within the Garlean Empire over reinvading Eorzea because they would see we're united somewhat as a nation and not seperate city states.

>Sharlayan
You mean the island that doesn't exist anymore? The one that everyone DIED ON?

Someone post that old FFXI/XIV stereotype list.

To be fair, FFXIV's players didn't match it PERFECTLY, but it was pretty close. And it matched my experience of FFXI players fucking spot on.

There's still remnants and individuals left as evident in the AST questline.
They're like the Brotherhood of Steel in that they lost against the NCR so now they just jerk off in bunkers and attempt to kill former members spreading their secrets
