Final Boss

>Final Boss
>HP=???

I like not knowing the HP of a boss. In real life, you wouldnt really know.

I really enjoy when you can tell a Boss' health by how torn/damaged/bloody he is, realistic.

>Final boss
>You can't see his HP bar
>You can't see your HP bar either

>RPG Boss
>Hit it with your strongest attacks
>their health bar barely moves
>look it up, it's not a 'lose to progress' battle

>Objective - Survive

>kill bosses healthbar
>he self-heals and begins 'phase 2'

>it's a gimmick battle

>you need a very specific but easily missable item to beat the boss
>you have to backtrack all the way through if you didn't find it the first time

>door before boss fight locks behind you
>autosaves

>boss has so much HP its HP bar is made up of HP bars

>Final boss(?)
>Cutscene where people look happy, looks like that was it
>Boss begins another phase
>several more phases pass
>final boss

>Have to sit through long, unskippable cutscene before fighting a very hard boss

>Get stuck with shit under leveled team after cutscene.

that was the fucking magnum opus of rom hacks
unless you just made that up, in which case:
rockman 4 minus infinity is the fucking magnum opus of rom hacks

>deplete boss's hp bar
>he still continues fighting

>Boss is a large target/background object
>summons minions to fight
>does easily telegraphed attacks
>is immune to all damage until this one specifically telegraphed attack
>he dies after 3 cycles of this

>boss summons the ghost of every enemy you've killed in the game to attack you

>Analyse/Scan enemy
>I don't know anything about this creature

>boss switches bodies with you, forcing you to fight your teammates and him now in your body

>Final boss's hp bar begins to fill
>It doesn't stop

This was every fucking boss in Breath of Fire 1 past the very first one.

>Boss can open doors

Is there any games where you can have more health than the final boss?

Seymour Flux

fucking persona.

>Final Boss is a helicopter

>the checkpoint is before the cutscene

>secret boss is a tank
FUCKING DMC 2

>boss is almost dead
>has an instant kill move that you haven't seen before and is hardly avoidable
>fight the fucking boss again

>Final boss is a US Senator you dont fuck with

>hit boss with your strongest attack
>heals him

off the top of my head, paper mario ttyd
it requires an obscene amount of grinding, but you can reach 200 hp to the final boss's 150

>it's time for you to sleep

Bad Girl did this aswell.

>final boss revives you once if you die
>"I'm not done with you yet"

I had to cheese that boss, using the alert badge method, was fucking fantastic though when it died in like 1 move

>if you use too many buffs on yourself, the final boss starts nuking you with its strongest attack every turn

is this cropped porn

>boss is a one-on-one duel with a party member you haven't been using

>"There's no way you're taking Kairi's heart!"

we got scuace on this? google bein a bitch and ive seen it before. . . .

>use healing move on boss
>boss has so much health it rolls over to zero

Barely related but
>playing dragon ball z game with friend at his house
>didn't know much about the series
>"I bet I can beat you with this handicap!"
>"You're on!"
>he picked Captain Ginyu

Chrono Cross. Any others?

>Story final boss has no health bar
>True final boss has fifty health bars

>hit boss with weakness
>it just makes him harder

>Use strongest attack in the entire game on final boss
>He counters with an unavoidable instant kill attack to your whole party

Oh man, those type of battles fucking suck.

What game? Sounds boss

>Boss final attack damage consist in how many monsters/enemies you beat in the game

>boss gets more turns the closer it is to death
>wipes your party before you can finish it off

>boss charms your party and fully heals themselves

Well, not an RPG with partners, but the Genesis version of Sparkster did this for the middle phase of the final boss.

>boss can summon minions
>you can't hurt the boss unless you kill them
>they spawn every few turns

>use all your recovery items trying to win
>you were supposed to lose

>boss's health bar cracks then shatters into pieces when you kill him

I forgot about Yiazmat. My mind went to Kingdom Hearts first.

>look it up
kys

>boss is two people
>one fights the other runs and hides
>the fighter is immortal
>you have to kill the hider to win
>the fighter gets stronger and faster the longer the battle goes one

>Dodge boss's attack
>"Impressive"

>'lose to progress' battle
explain

>Boss fills up like 8 health bars
>Beat him in one punch

>final boss completely changes the rules of the game

>regular enemies laugh at and taunt you if they land a heavy attack

It means it's a fight that you're supposed lose to continue the story. Like the first fight with Bowser in Paper Mario 64.

>you can just walk past him while it's filling

>Boss summons minions that are resistant to your attacks
>Still spawns them every few turns even if you didn't kill the old ones
>Drown under a endless sea of minions

>have to spend hours to grind levelling up alternate party members that aren't ineffective against the minions

Spider-Man 2
What a great game.

>Final boss possesses your party members and has them do their super moves on you

>boss collapses to the floor
>looks like it's free to attack
>it's actually a setup for their one-hit kill attack
>sometimes you actually can freely attack, but it's set up so that you'd almost have no way of knowing if it'd be a good idea depending on if the boss just decides to do their OHKO move or just reset to their usual pattern

>enter boss room
>SAY HELLO TO MY CUTE BALLS

Not the same guy but it means you can't possibly beat the boss and you must lose the fight in order to progress the story.

>Final boss is the girl you like

>boss is your shadow

fat

>Boss hides his health bar so you can't hurt him

>final boss
>hp=2540BE3FF

If she's crying, you can hit her. If she's not, don't touch her.

>boss was once your friend
>he no longer remembers you

>Boss uses an element that you never see elsewhere and with no way to resist it

Oh shit, thanks user! I never noticed that until you pointed it out. Can't believe I never did. NMH1 is one of my favorite games of all time and I've beaten it more than a few times but I don't think I've ever noticed the difference.

I'll keep that in mind for my next playthrough.

>Die from boss
>Have to go back around 20 minutes to your last save and go through each of the grunts you've fought to get back to said boss

>boss is a monster with the upper body of a sexy woman

>none of your attacks hurt the boss
>you must find a way to use the bosses own attacks against him

>she

>The Narrator was actually the Final Boss

>boss has only a few hits left until death
>instead of playing the same way that got to that point, get greedy and rush in
>die

>Kill boss
>Has a death animation while the game is still playing
>No cutscene or anything, you're still technically fighting the boss according to the game
>You have 1hp left
>Some stray bullet or something kills you as you've let your guard down thinking the game is no longer going to let you die
>Have to do the whole fight again

>you build your party to be practically invulnerable to the boss' attacks
>he spams an unresistable powerful attack every turn until everyone is dead

>boss has a pattern, which you have to be prepared for to survive
>unless you challenge it at night, in which case it attacks completely randomly, possibly using its instant death attack consecutively

>bring boss's health bar down to zero
>boss's body begins to crack
>boss's true form emerges from old body with even bigger health bar

>game has gear that resists or immunizes against specific elemental damage
>boss spams an ability that dispels all buff, neutralizes all resistances, and places vulnerability to all elements every turn

SO WHY THE FUCK EVEN GIVE ME THAT GEAR, GAME? WHY THE FUCK?

>yo man let's make a super hard secrect boss .
>ok what do you do to make boss hard ?
>Give it 10MILLIONS HP .
>and it's take 8 hours to beat this badass .
>player will enjoy do the same thing for 8 hours straight .
>sound good approve .

>After 10 minute unskippable cutscene and 20 minute annoying fight
>Boss forces game over with no warning if party members aren't inflicted with a certain status

>Get to final boss.
>Oh boy here we go.
>Amazing music starts playing.
>OH MAN IM ABOUT TO BEAT HIM!
>Boss dies, enter phase two.
>WHAT HOLY SHIT OH GOD IT JUST GOT HARDER THE MUSIC GOT BUTTER OH FUCK!
>Barely survive to get last hit in.
>Phase 3 start.
>What is this shit nigger oh my fuck stop stop this shit.
>Die, repeat, get to phase 3.
>Oh god I almost have you dead you fucker, I cant believe I am going to beat this game finally after all these months.
>Phase 4 has begun.
>YOU DIRTY CUNT!
>Die
>Repeat up to phase 4 again.
>Get mid way, instant kill, die.
>Repeat up to phase 4 again.
>OH BOY ITS ALMOST DEAD!
>Enter phase 5.
>Just go get the gameshark at this point.
the final boss has 7 forms.

FF8 is just as fucking bad for this shit.

>have super powered pet-like equips that you get throughout the game that boosts all your stats, gives you skills, and allows you to summon
>boss has AoE debuff that puts them all on standby, lowering your hp to a fraction of its max, stats, disabling many of your skills, and preventing you from summoning
>equips only come off standby once per turn
>boss has multiple turns and can AoE the shit out of you after the debuff

>see a vision of the next attack
>damage: Infinite
>quest added: Save the Bionis

ay, that was pretty fucking hype right there

>boss performs a party-wide instakill attack
>Your whole party has Auto-Life

>Final boss can use the super nuke-everything spell only the protag can use
