Dawn of War II was better.
Dawn of War II was better
Other urls found in this thread:
that's starcraft 2
Don't think you know what Starcraft II looks like.
you remember in the first trailers they were showing stuff like bridges being destroyable? troops on the bridge would be lost, but jetpack troops would jump to safety
I doubt that will happen in Dawn of War III.
oh sorry they look so similar my mistake
dumb frogposter
Not really. I understand Sup Forums meme arguments but I don't see what calling Dawn of War II looks like Starcraft II is supposed to accomplish.
Yeah, too bad 40k completely stole the design from starcraft
Is this some kind of advanced false-flagging technique that DoWI fags are using?
They added orcs to starcraft ll?
I enjoyed DoW and DoW2 and have over 1000 hours in each. I will purchase DoW3 no matter what.
DoWIII just seems really regressive to me.
The original cover system didn't work that well so instead of improving it let's just go back to standing in craters.
It wouldn't get so much shit if it didn't have awful balancing
fuck now I wanna reinstall this game thanks OP
GTFO REEEEEEEE
I just replayed through DOW 1, WA, DOW 2, Chaos rising, and now am replaying retribution. Talking from a single player sense
Retribution is a lot better than DOW 2. I like how they went back to units instead of having heroes be your units (Like Avitus as your devastator squad instead of just having a devastator squad)
They keep the heroes like in DOW 1 but also bring back the regular units.
I hope DOW3 works on windows 7
...
I honestly liked Dow2, but my main problem is how restricted it is with unit sizes.
I wouldn't mind the small pop cap if they at least did something with the unit sizes for orks, IG and Tyranids, they are so weird to play with without the overwhelming numbers, IG also lack their signature vehicle variety, i can't swamp enemies with disposable sluggas with orks and tyranids don't feel swarmy enough
why is Grey Goo irredeemable filth
Also the Ork voices in DOW 2 are SHIT
looked better
played like a total dogshit
>warcraft2
>somewhat outdated
>not total nostalgia boring garbage
>warcraft3
>being listed anywhere that is not total shit
are you fucking retarded?
huuurrr dota wuz good XDDD memes!!! im 12 years old!!
That one mission in chaos rising where a bunch of chaos attack you and you have a bunch of Imperial guard with you was really the highlight. Fucking FPS tanked and I have hardware way better than recommended. Game really was not made for battles that big it shows
What specifically is wrong with Starcraft 2?
It was mechanically superior to DoWI.
>but muh basebuilding
No one cares.
they should have just let certain units of races be able to make cover. cover in dow 1 sucked because no one cared about it. cover in dow 2 sucked because it was literally the only places battles happened, and was all about picking models before they zoomed away at the speed of sound back to their base, and they took barely any damage while in said cover unless they got flanked.
this. I hope that dow 3, while looking not so good, actually plays well for a change. both in gameplay and with fps, dow 2 chugs along if you try to put a lot of squads in the game similar to dow 1.
i guess that is what happens when you make the game so goddamn pretty, i'm still amazed my toaster can run this thing with almost no problem but can't fucking run path of exile well.
>No one cares.
>DoW3 is celebrating that is going back to base building and bigger armies
>No one cares
kek
>CA is doing a Total War:Halo
>Microsoft says their event has some stuff RTS players must see
Well, it had the improvement of not being able to just shoot through terrain. Retribution is way better than DOW2 though and that's why DOW 3 has me excited more
Yeah looks good
Don't really care about the graphic change in DOW 3 though, I expect it to look better by release just in texture and models really. Honestly at times DOW 2 was really a cluster fuck of effects, they said they want certain things to be more obvious like assault jumps and stuff in DOW 3
>no one cares
>everyone went into total hypemode because it talked about basebuilding
right...
well, I guess ill wait and see. I dont really care about the basebuilding aspects myself, unless they're done right. I like broodwar/sc2 basebuilding. you can go off into a few branching paths of unit creation and it makes games generally different from eachother because you see people teching up to different units every game. but dow 1 has boring basebuilding and dow 2 is really the same but without the basebuilding part. you have to tech from this to that, and pretty much every game you'll be making the exact same units every time, which can get really stale.
I just realized Act of War isn't here
Is this game obscure for some reason?
Are you talking about halo wars 2? Halo wars 1 wasn't that bad
>It was mechanically superior to DoWI.
I can't hear you thru all this shit pathfinding
>Dreadnought running into walls instead of giving up stairs
God damn it, Thule
That screenshot makes me think, did i do wrong by just buying DoW2 retribution and not the other games?
I didn't have enough dosh for the master collection so i decided to buy retribution + ulthwe skin pack, and even if i wanted to play the SP of those games i fucking HATE space marines and the overexposure they get in 40k
Now post the new one
I haven't played Halo wars but I heard it was a decent yet simple game.
What i'm worried is that Sega is going to fuck up everything in DoW3 just to get those MS funbucks
Story wise? Yes, as all DOW 2 games are connected
Gameplay wise? Retribution is much better
What? You are confusing Relic and Creative Assembly my friend
Sega owns Relic and CA
Halo wars was ok, simplistic, but really engaging.
The campaign did some amazing stuff, like defending a giant UNSC ship from sentinels and covenant on the hull, to a three way figth between covies, flood and the unsc
It's funny when newfags and/or redditors read ED for the first time and think they can troll someone.
Yes, but why would a CA project affect A Relic project? The budgets are separate and Warhammer is a big IP as well.
implying dow 1's pathfinding isnt worse
which makes me hope that pathfinding isnt utter shit in dow 3. getting IG stuck on a baneblade for 5 minutes blows.
Act of War doesn't run on modern computers.
You would just as well play Act of Aggression, it's pretty much the exact same game but updated.
at least it makes sense in first game
in second units literally don't listen to you at all sometimes.
Why was Retribution such a big pile of shit, campaign-wise?
They sell it on GoG, it works on modern systems. In fact it's on sale right now
Wasn't a focus
DOW1's pathfinding was utterly broken. DOW2's was superior even if it still had problems at least it functioned properly
God I fucking hate eldar
Some higher ups see that there is some demand for RTS on the exbawks and they throw all their RTS properties on there
Companies do stupid shit all the time for money so you have to excuse me for expecting the worse, especially when it was just hinted at
>He never played DoW before Dark Crusade
You just don't know do you OP.
I smell envy.
This is the weakest post I've ever read
>Dying pathetic race
>Envy
>dying pathetic race
Hey, congrats, you summed up every faction in WH40K!
except Tyranids
>tyranids
>chaos
ye-no
Eldar are especially dying when compared to any others
>Chaos
>not dying in droves when they try to peek out the Eye of Terror
They don't call it Cadian Teabags because of the beverage.
and orks, and necrons. basically the 'big bad endgame' races are doin just fine, and chaos kinda sorta because they can just hide in their butthole of terror.
it was never hinted at though. halo wars 2 is coming out on pc and xbox, thats a given, theres nothing about dow 3 that was 'hinted at,' thats a separate event entirely.
I find it interesting both Dow1 and 2 intro deal with the same scale, but are different on the actual gameplay, hell, if you only had the DoW1 intro as a reference of the game you would think it would be a tactics game with a small number of units.
i think that's why the dow3 trailer excited me so much, seeing knight-class units is a good way to show they are increasing the scale
Ancient = / = Dying
That would be like saying Necron are especially dying when compared to any other
is company of heros 2 actually bad or is it just the buyable doctrine shit
>Literally fall of a civilization that caused them to roam around on ships in space (Craft worlds aren't planets, homey)
>Not dying
Compared to all the planets of the Imperium
DoW2 is _fun
>implying Tyranids aren't on their last legs and the great sprawl you see outside the galaxy isn't dead eggs floating in vacuum
b-but then who killed off the tyranids outside of the known galaxy?
the true final enemy?
to be fair, the eye of terror bit with cadia is just some stupid plot convenience shit that makes no actual sense. chaos is perfectly fine with coming out from anywhere possible, like how angron got his fleet to armageddon. they didnt get there through the eye of terror.
they are actually dying though, they can rarely breed with eachother, they're constantly on the run, their numbers are the fewest compared to any other.
those are some last legs
some people like the gameplay, but the monetization is atrocious
You mean compared to all the planets of the Imperium, 80% of which have been lost due to the collapse of the previous empire, forcing the actual empire to fight with glorified tractors instead of tanks, and worship a litteral corpse? I don't know.
it's p2w
game isn't bad actually
>they are actually dying though
That's the thing, everyone is dying and decadent to a certain degree, except *maybe* the Orks and the Tau. And even still.
who ever made this is a Nigger with a Toaster, SC II is an amazing game.
DoW1 voice acting is impossible to top.
Enslavers or Orks.
Moving goal posts from amount of lives to technology I see :^)
Destroy one planet of the Imperium? Not really a big deal
Destroy one craft world? hoo boy
>destroy one planet of the Imperium? Not really a big deal
That's the kind of talk that gets you flogged and hanged by the Inquisition.
If you want to talk about dying = amount of lives lost each day, well the Imperium is certainly winning the "most dying faction" award compared to the Eldar.
perhaps ill get it with everything bundled one day. im shit at the first one and stick to exp bots usually anyway but its my fave rts for sure, i was pretty sad when i heard about 2 being bad
100,000 eldar dying is a much bigger deal than 100,000 humans dying. The race is closer to extinction than humanity is
By the throne the day those pointy eared arrogant fucks are all wiped clean from the physical plane the entire galaxy will celebrate. Eldar have their heads so far up their own asses they can see from the inside of their mouth.
Except humans are more or less the main focus of every faction, so it's 100,000 humans dying for 100 eldar dying.
>not liking both
wew.
talk about the pot calling the kettle black
and the adeptus mechanicus dont? nice job hoarding all that tech.
the eldar are valuable allies for the imperium, sometimes. it depends on if you get them to do things by your rules instead of theirs. if its theirs, they're more than likely leading you into some kind of trap to save like 2 eldar at the cost of 2 imperial planets.
But humanity is obviously superior and hasn't caused any real harm to the Galaxy. Also we have the only god-like entity that hasn't fucked up things for his people. Eldar on the other hand have fucked things up...literally
>Created the eye of terror through constant srug fueled orgies
>spawned Slaneesh
>Provoked the dormant Chaos gods
It's amazing they continue to exist instead of all being sent to the punishment they deserve.>Eldar
>Valuable allies
That's what you call humor.
>you will never get a 3rd option in Winter Assault where Sturnn and Taldeer bro it up, teabag the Necrons and headbutt the Chaos Gods on the side
>humanity hasn't caused any real harm to the Galaxy
>what? Horus? Never heard of it HAHA0100001111
>*awakening Necron tombs with crude mining intensifies*
Loving every laugh
Will Eldar ever learn?
I just bought the first DoW with all of its expansions from steam. I was an Imperial Guard player but even after not playing for a couple of years I'm still a little burnt from them.
Been thinking on picking up the Tau because I like the mech suits and such. What races do you like to play, guys?
Tau is only good guys there is anyway
cause they got better mechs
>The Kommandos set out in a looted Tau transport ship, using captured codes to approach the Vor’sanar dockyard under the pretence of having been damaged in an Ork raid and seeking safe harbour. The Tau were initially suspicious of the lone vessel limping into their station, but every demand for identification was met with a satisfactory response, and the idea that Orks could undertake such a ruse was unthinkable to the Tau. It was a horrific surprise then when the vacuum seals opened and Ork Kommandos poured out into the station. By the time the Tau had mustered to repel the invaders, the Kommandos had reached the station’s reactors. Smashing them to scrap, they set off a chain reaction, dooming the station and allowing Waaagh! Grog to ransack Vor’sanar and ultimately the entire sector.
Horus heresy only really affected humanity though...
Also
>Eldar pretending creating a new Chaos god and waking the others up while tearing a massive fucking rift into the center of the galaxy isn't a big deal
Wew.
>But humanity is obviously superior and hasn't caused any real harm to the Galaxy.
>what is the horus heresy
the horus heresy was the event that plunged the galaxy into darkness. chaos was not a threat whatsoever before the heresy.
>trusting pseudo-men of iron
I'm still bewildered as to why the Inquisition hasn't unplugged you mechjews yet.
>be tau
>Invite Necrons over for tea.
