Anyone ever heard of this game? Anyone played it? It's pretty damn hard, and the combat is pretty interesting. It's like drunken sword fighting.

combat takes some serious getting used to and its definitely still early access. not really sure its worht the 15 dollars.
Tried it, physics look weird.
I like how my character can fumble and fall but come on, he falls like he's made out of jello.
Also, For some reason got an error for every character type other than villager, and didnt get any tutorial once I was in and fumbling around the control isn't fun.
It takes some getting used to, but I find it enjoyable. Combat is a bitch to get the hang of but once you do it is so satisfying winning Arena matches and stuff. Definitely has a long way to go but it's a cool concept.
Has anyone gotten to Super Golem or the troll?
Fuck no, I'm still in the first dungeon. My biggest gripe with this game is how unforgiving it is at times. Perma-death, potions are impossible to find. I'm not sure if each of those blue lights are potions but if they are, I have no idea how to grab them. I notice the light in your picture is out.
Any tips for survival in this mother fucking game? I've already been through like 10 characters.
The game has checkpoints, but yes, there can be bullshit deaths. There should not be half a second of delay between when I switch the running direction and when the character actually changes his orientation. If the game is trying to mimic how we actually move, I sure as hell am not as sluggish as that.
Also there is about 1 health potion per level until you get slightly past the point where the dev decided not to have anymore check points, at which point you get a healing item.
I think the game is hard as balls. Levels 1-3 are whatever, but after that, which the non humanoid creatures it is an absolute shitshow.
So I'm not alone in thinking it is nearly unmanagebly hard. It's like a survival horror game that isn't scary at all but is difficult because of the tank controls and wonky combat system. I do enjoy the combat system but it plays like QWOP: Sword Fighting.
Where did you get a compass? wtf? Is there a map too? That's another thing about this game, I feel like every room is just empty as fuck in terms of loot.
The dev is thinking of adding an in game map making tool, but there's never going to be any sort of minimap.
There is a compass in the first level, but it's hard to find.
I wouldn't mind the difficulty if it wasn't for the absence of checkpoints. You are less likely to die in later levels though because you'll probably have armor that makes it much harder to suffer red damage.
Fuck I want to get good at this game and see what's out there. I've heard there's quite a bit of content and game mechanics hidden in this game?
yeah you can find parts for a mini tank which is absurdly over powered and needs some major balancing but its hilarious nonetheless
I managed to kill the troll, too bad it's a gimmick fight and it doesn't drop anything. Can't kill these fuckers.
Well it is hands down the best game for armor porn I have ever seen, but it still needs a lot of fucking work. I just want Sui Generis to come out instead so I don't have to dungeon crawl.
This motherfucker in the top corner of the screen I have been staring at for awhile. I don't want to get smacked against the wall on the far side of the dungeon cause I thought I could take him on. I get KO'd by orcs as it is.
Waitng for the release. Fuck EA
Oh wow I didn't know Exanima was basically the alpha/tech demo for Sui Generis. I would love to see an outdoor world in this engine.
I presume you want to see an outdoor world for yourself, but if not, then they released one video long time ago.
Yeah I moreso meant playing in the outside world, exploring areas and whatnot. If they get movement feeling less clunky, especially while in combat mode, and introduce a ton more content for looting and stories, it could potentially be a really cool game. I see their Kickstarter was shooting for 2014 though and they're still in early access phases. Hmmmm....did they abandon this project? I think there may have been an update very recently actually.
Once you get a hold on the combat the game does become pretty easy. You can run the whole thing naked once you git gud. Updates are fairly conststant but slow being 3-4 months apart for major content but hotfixes are usualy up within a day or so. All in all it's a really enjoyable and unique game.
>did they abandon this project?
From what I've gathered, Exanima is basically their design playground of sorts. With it they may tune the movement, skills, mechanics et cetera and get feedback without releasing the full game.
How drunk and on what kind of hooch are we talking about here?
>You can run the whole thing naked once you git gud.
This tactic doesn't work for non human (non skelly) enemies.
absolutely smashed on some honey meade
Looks like i don't have to neck cheap brandy for this.
...
Looks more like beer tipsy to me.
Yeah I just made my way there about an hour ago. Found the iron key and went to the other side of the dungeon with like an 1/8th of health...got sucker punched by a zombie with a stick around a corner. Perma-death....I rage quit.
I want to like this game but it plays like a medieval isometric version of QWOP.
Damn your characters giving me a boner.
I might try it out when it comes out of early access in like 15 years.
