What are some absolutely necessary mods for Fallout: New Vegas?

What are some absolutely necessary mods for Fallout: New Vegas?

I've played the game several times before, but it was on an outdated PC, so now that I have a new one, I just want to mod it to look and play better.

I'm interested in all sorts of mods, ranging from overhauls to just plain old ENBs.

Why would you mod this shitty old-ass game, just play Fallout 4. New Vegas shouldn't even be considered a "Fallout" game.

Cheers, big ears, for the bump.

YUP, Wasteland Uncut, JSawyer. Collision Meshes, MTUI/Darnified UI, Legion Quests Expanded, Freeside Open/Strip Open, Melee Reach Fixed, Ultimate Invisible Wall Remover, Tutorial Killer, JIP Improved Recipe Menu, Enhanced Camera, Weapon Animation Replacer, Centered Third Person

4gb Loader, NV Anti Crash, Stutter Remover, NVSE, NSVE Lutana/JIP plugin, Mod Manager or Mod Organizer, Mod Configuration Menu, LOOT, FNVEdit

NMC Texture Pack, Ojo Beuno, WMR, IHWT, MGs Neat Clutter, Hall of Face, NV Redesigned 2

CONELRAD radio, Ambient Wasteland 2, Improved Sound FX v0821

Seriously Stealth Suit Shut Up Already

Thank you.

One last question: is there something that lets me see my character's body from first person?

Enhanced Camera

jsawyer.esp is the only required mod because it's the director's cut

>no Outside Bets/Wasteland Uncut to restore content they patched out because of consoles
>no YUP to fix the bugs they weren't allowed to fix themselves

C'mon now, son. JSawyer is nice but it's not a cure all.

Is there any mod that allows me silence energy weapons for stealth?

I'm lame like that.

What's the best female body replacer with good vanilla armor conversions that aren't skimpy/slutty?

There isn't from what I can see. Also I'm fairly sure the light output of an energy weapon would ruin any silencer

You forgot WRP and Weapons of the New Millenia.

>nobody has mentioned Cirosan's classic overhaul

Alongside JSawyer.esp it's the proper way to play

Project Nevada a shit, A SHIT

Lore consistency ain't free friend. It has to be littered with the blood of old fags to protect our origins. Fallout "Borderlands" 4 ain't a Fallout fan, probably only hardcore Bethesda fan bois.

...

Well there is a stealth laser pistol on Project Nevada.

I meant WRP when I typed WMR

I don't believe in adding new weapons just for the sake of having new weapons

Here's your (You).

Type 6 armor conversions.

I wanna see what that looks like with textures on.

It looks like one sexy beast

How do I get JSawyer mod but still have my level 50 cap

Edit it yourself in the GECK

what's the correct order to do the DLC again? and is lvl 32 too high for it to be fun?

release order is the story order but the references to each other are minimal

old world blues has some noticeable hp bloat at higher levels

Except when you look at the disparity in texture quality between that and the counter/surface it's on.

The Quick loot mod seems the most interesting to me, something that removes a lot of the tedious parts of the game consisting of just looking at UI screens.

HH --> DM ---> OWB ---> LR

The moment you use any texture pack, you're going to get that in one way or another

Not every texture has a HD version floating around there, so either don't replace them or suck it up

great ty

>There will never be a mod to fan the hammer on a revolver.

I can't mod this game because it has no modules folder. How much am I missing out

The IMAGINATOR is necessary in my opinion. New Vegas looks kind of bleak without it, and is a good substitute for an ENB in that it doesn't hinder your performance by much and you can set it up however you want.

>this is what console babies believe

hi todd

>no modules folder
The fuck you on about

i wonder who could be behind this post

Not much.

I was going to check out Project Nevada, what's wrong with it?

Great summary, thanks.

Any quest/bonus areas/dungeons/exploration mods you'd recommend?

New Vegas Bounties are the go-to recommendation

Indeed, and i've alreay played that along with other mods from someguys series, therefore i would apreciate some lesser known ones. I wanted to try World of Pain but i've heard it shits on the immersion.

>but i've heard it shits on the immersion.
Not too painfully. It adds some locations are most more or less have a reason to be where they are, but if a dissonant amount of enemies tucked in a too large bunker/location doesn't work for you, ignore it.

D.E.I.M.O.S
Tales from the Burning Sands
Beyond Boulder Dome

Never tried any of them, just listing names

AWOP is worth a playthrough, though I'd recommend doing it on a seperate save, or a save you don't particularly care about, because it breaks balance by throwing high-level gear at you early on, and is known to cause save bloat.

Yukichigai patch, FO3 weapons restoration, better New Vegas, NVInteriors, New Vegas Restoration/Freeside restoration, New Vegas Uncut, and maybe Someguy2000 mods and Tales from burning sands for quests.

Any other ENBs you would recommend?

>FO3 weapons restoration
Why on earth would you want the garbage FO3 weapons back?

It's not even an ENB. It's a mod. There's also a version for Skyrim and I think Fallout 3 has one too. Not entirely sure.

Because they fit into lore, and better then, say marksman carabine or 12.7mm SMG, and bring more diversity to the selection. I liked the chinese pistol. Also, i'd say that the WMX and weapon mod menu are mandatory.

Mods that make the game crash less

Mods that open up the Strip (and optionally Freeside) and remove their loading zones

Anything else is just asking for trouble in a game as unstable as New Vegas, and applying graphics mods to such an ugly game is like trying to polish a turd

>better then, say marksman carabine or 12.7mm SMG

Ah, the memes. Quality discussion on /v, as usual.

The FO3 shotgun is really satisfying to use but the design makes no fucking sense

>I liked the chinese pistol

Wew lad

>Freeside Open
Don't do this.

>want to replay a clean, almost vanilla New Vegas with only the patches and stuff
>can't let go of my old mods

If you aren't using a lot of mods and have a halfway decent computer, it's fine

...

it is a total unstable mod you can not deinstall
it is literally reking your game

i wouldn't tell someone who is new to modding NV to install it

>and applying graphics mods to such an ugly game is like trying to polish a turd

isn't that much difference to F4

>not liking chinese .45 and 7.62x25 C96
WHEW
HEWD
EWAD
WLAD

You can uninstall it just fine, you just have to start a new save file. Anyone who isn't an idiot will test it first before committing to it.

Or be a big boy and use Mod Organizer so they can make a mod profile without it

Like said, it's better to avoid this mod at any cost.
I've tried this mod and I regret my decision so much:
>loading in the Freeside takes much longer
>frame rate drops in a half
>mormon fort is fucked up

So a 45-70 Gov't will punch a hole through one of those Legion fuckers the size of a brahmin?
