Using DS4Windows with PC for years without any problems

>using DS4Windows with PC for years without any problems
>find out MGSV works natively with DS4 and don't have to use XInput
>turn off DS4Windows
>suddenly even slightly putting my thumb on the joysticks moves my character/the camera
>deadzones are practically non-existent since it isn't emulating a 360 controller
>gameplay improves massively

Why the fuck don't more devs support DS4 natively?

Also why do Xbros have to ruin literally everything?

>Blame a controller designed for use with PC

You've got it backwards user. You were trying to use a nonstandard peripheral, you're not being slighted in any way.

It's MS's fault for making the Xbox controllers have such shitty deadzones when they're the standard on PC. It's also devs' faults for not supporting the vastly superior controller when it works perfectly fine with PCs.

Even MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV and TERA have support for them and DS3/4 button prompts along with it.

More games should include the option for which button prompts you want to use. It feels fucking weird playing the Souls games with Xshit buttons, and From's anti-cheat system will ban you for modding them.

>Xshit
I usually say Shitbox, but I like this as well.

It was the same with FFXHD before they modded it so you could have the right buttons.

A fucking PLAYSTATION game that don't have PLASTSTATION buttons.
Fucking Chinese shit porting devs.

It seems like they have this weird idea that people in the West play JRPGs and other Japanese games on Xbox consoles, when the only people who buy Xboxes are dudebros and people too poor/stupid to play shooters on PC. Like that Stranger of Sword City game where the dev originally made it an Xbone exclusive on consoles because he thinks there's an audience for hardcore niche Japanese games there. Same with shmup devs. No one buys an Xbone for Japanese games.

There's Idolm@ster and uhmmm...
What other games?
Don't know, anyway the shitboxes are only sold in Japan because of this game mostly.
It's also a retarded slow computer, it brought shit like HALO, retarded analog placement for people with asymmetrical hands and the retarded dudebro userbase.

Thankfully they've finally had the good sense to put the new iM@S on PS4 this time.

To be fair the dudebro audience has existed since the Genesis, but the Xbox brand definitely brought it to new heights.

Why would a PlayStation game ported to PC need Xbox controller inputs anyways? That doesn't make the least bit of sense.

>Why would X need Y button prompts

>QUICK! PRESS X!

>All these PShit4/PC inbreds using DS4

Because sony didn't do official drivers while MS had their 360 official drivers since ages ago so it became standard

If sony had released drivers it might have been the one

The DS4 touchpad easily makes it better than the Xbone controller.

And the analogs, and the buttons and... well the DS3's buttons.

It doesn't need drivers though, it works natively as a DirectInput device on anything that supports that. It's only games that are locked to XInput that you need a workaround.

>Xinput
>putting in
>Shitbox
The API should be called Scat for a reason.

What games use DirectInput?

proper games.

MGSV for one. From what I understand DInput is an older, more open alternative to XInput, but the latter became more popular since Microsoft pushed it as the standard.

That was the 360 and im@s helped selling them.
So it didn't do that bad

VNs on Xbone flopped

DirectInput was scrapped because it was a hardware->Driver API which meant Windows couldn't spy on it as much as Xinput.
Same with DirectSound.

Input latencies increased and hardware acceleration became limited.

The game i played with your mom last night. She directly inputted her mouth on my cock.

bump

>not using whatever controller you like whenever
I remember wiring my snes controller to the serial port of my pc to use it with native support in zsnes way back in the late 90s/early200s.

>shitty deadzones
I never had that problem. Maybe a DS4 posing as a Xinput controller creates this hugue deadzone you speak of.

Anyone that's tried to indiedev can see that when the xbox controllers are completely idle, the analogue sticks and triggers still have weird small values for their axis, and you then have to account for that by ignoring anything within a certain range- i.e. shitty deadzones. Doesn't happen with DS3/DS4 controllers, they are always perfectly 0 when idle

If you set the touchpad for "use as controls" rather than as a mouse the deadzone goes away.

Either I'm too used to that deadzone already or you're exaggerating the issue.
What games need more than two levels of precision, anyway? Most of the time you just need one to walk and another to run.

I guess aiming? or games that require super accurate movements? I mean generally its not too noticeable, but if you're a hardcore fag (which personally im not) I guess it might be noticeable if you can switch between the two

can't you reduce the deadzone in DS4Windows?

Driving games and flying games are shit without true analogue.

every single game that uses xinput natively will deadzone it. that's probably why you're used to it

Seriously guys, so which controller do I buy for my PC then?

I've played Rocket League both using DS4Windows and raw, and I can tell you raw is so much more responsive. You notice how much faster you start turning when there is no deadzone (which gives you a huge advantage).

DS4, since you get much better control for games that support DInput and the same level of control as an Xshit controller for games that don't. Not to mention it's the comfier controller and better all around.

stop creating more standards user!

we already have one Xinput, why do you want to remake the wheel again?

Dinput could be better and more flexible but it's dead (for modern gaming now), we don't need more fraction this time

I just hope the API is open sourced and more gamepad could be made for its support

>comfier
>those symmetric analogs
>THOSE triggers

I was using a F710 from Logitech from a long time (I never felt the hardware deadzone people talked about, maybe I was lucky), then I bought a xbox360controller, IT IS FANTASTIC, I really like it and the dpad being shit is not a problem I don't use it too much

for maximum compatibility, a XBOXone controller
for maximum compatibility but in a budget, xbox360 controller
for wanting to be a fucking nigger hipster shit, a DS4, Wii u PRO or IPega controller

just joking, buy a Xbox360 controller

>It seems like they have this weird idea that people in the West play JRPGs and other Japanese games on Xbox consoles
Don't remind me of that shit. I'm still not sure why Lost Odyssey was a 360 exclusive. I really want to play it again but my 360 died long ago and I have no intention of ever buying another.

The DS4 triggers are fucking good. Kill yourself.

Is it worth upgrading to the revised Xbox One controller from the old one just for the better bumpers?

Keep believing that.
It's mushy shit

Don't listen to this faggot. If your only experience with controllers is Logitech and Microsoft shit, you've never used a good controller in your life and aren't qualified to give an assessment.

GameCube, Saturn, and DS4 are the best controllers ever made

>gamecube
List discarded
fucking smah faggots

GameCube's ergonomics and control stick still haven't been beaten. If they had just added another Z-Button and made the sticks click when pushed it would be perfect.

Why don't you adjust it in the settings?

Oh wait, you can't. Enjoy your console controller.

But you can though

Guess I'll ask this here. I'm using DS4windows and occasionally while i'm playing games, the controller becomes unresponsive for a second, like it won't read my button inputs and if i was holding the stick a certain direction, it would be stuck at that direction until it comes back. I looked at the log and whenever that happens, I notice it says "Controller latency is over 10ms" I'm not connected via bluetooth and instead i'm wired by USB - I thought wired wouldn't give latency?

Anyways has anyone had this problem and fixed it? I already tried reinstalling the drivers for it

The DS4 USB connector is touchy as fuck, you might be pushing the cable against your lap or something.

>saturn
>DS4
>Best controllers ever
Either you have retard hands or you got high as fuck this mornin and its still creepin

>denying the godliness of the Saturn controller
confirmed for having never played a fighting game or shmup in your life

How big of a retard do you have to be to use a controller on PC ?

A dualshit no less . Are you sonyggers that loyal to Sonys dick in your ass ?

Is this a joke thread. I find it hard to believe anyone uses that fisher price shit with a godamn lightbulb sticking out of its ass.

Most console ports have shit kb+m controls unless they're shooters and since PC exclusives fucking suck since the'yre nothing but boring RTS's and shitty MOBAs, console ports are all PC gaming is good for. PCs are literally only good for playing multiplats at 60fps.

It looks like the dreamcast had an abortion m8.

2/10 would not hold

Just use the xbox controller like any non hipster you false flagging sony negro

Wrong controller friendo. And the controller you posted is better than the Dreamcast controller anyway, the only thing it had going for itw as the VMU.

Nigga that looks like a genesis pad got heated up in aunt jemimas pancake pan.

1/10 would not eat

I personally like using a gamepad in videogames

I feels better

I never bought a console before, I just like to play with a gamepad, whenever I can, I use a gamepad

because they are the best controllers for a PC and the best controllers overall?

I have to admit, Microsoft is a fucking jew machine, I hate their OS but they make the most useful and sexy hardware ever made (Surface, Intelli Mouse, Trackballs, Nokia Lumia, Xbox controllers, casual keyboards)

deal with it, they do quality hardware unlike Sony and I use Linux almost daily (unless it's games)

>buying an objectively less precise controller with shitter ergonomics and buttons
>implying using a DS4 makes you a hipster when far more people own DS4s than Xbone controllers
are u avin a laff m8

Suit yourself pony man. Make sure you buy one of those dildo controllers so you can sit on it while you figure out why you bought such an inferior and incomparable controller.

I'm sure the Chinese will have a laugh watching you through your webcam when you download their software.

>using a ds4

Are you being serious

FUCK YOU
