The 23rd is when he'll drop his biggest meme.
The 23rd is when he'll drop his biggest meme
You realize it'll suck anyway right? When was the last good sonic game?
>When was the last good sonic game?
Sonic and Knuckles
nobody cares
sonic is dead again, he came back alive for colors and generations and that's it
Blue arms
adventure 2. But that was because it had great music, settings, and a decent story with good character tropes.
>a decent story
Do you have literally zero standards
this only triggers chrischan
why make these posts, he doesn't go here.
Generations.
Black Knight
Colors and, to a lesser extent, Generations.
only Sonic game i enjoyed was Tail's Adventure on gamegear.
This. And colors before that. Sonic games have been good lately, with lost world being meh
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Oh, I dunno, Sonic Adventure was very acceptable at the time.
>gridwork
>blocks in the background on left side
>Sonic Minecraft clone
>playing the game literally alters your DNA, placing you onto the spectrum
>More classic shit
I just want fucking modern Sonic without boost shit. The gamecube era was fucking fantastic.
>COLORS AND GENERATIONS WE'RE GOOD MEME
Those were shit, too.
I've played bayo for the the story, so yes.
ebin
Lost World. While it's not a perfect game and has its flaws, it's still a pretty good game. I don't know why it gets so much hate.
Generations and 4 Part 2.
This. At least Colors had a decent soundtrack. Generations had one good track (Modern Chemical Plant).
Without the "but no that was shit" memes? Sonic Generations. It wasn't amazing, and the final boss was a disappointment, but the game was solid and everything else more than made up for that shitty boss.
Was it amazing? No. Was it perfect? Hell no. But it was good.
>muh run button
>muh ball physics absent
really not complaints i agree with. game is basically Sonic with more Mario controls, which is a godsend for me.
>BOOST REQUIRES NO SKILL MEME
It's like you only played the game for 2 minutes and never went for good times
>I don't agree with it, so I'll call it a meme
Colors was decent, but Generations has been the closest thing to a real Sonic 4. The Modern stuff may not be everyone's choice with the boosting and all, but those Classic stages were done exceedingly well.
Unless it cures cancer it'll never be enough.
>Generations
>Stages are all either Boost or Classic shit
>Implying this is good
Colors was good because it actually had platforming segments. It wasn't amazing by any means but it definitely is a game worth playing.
Generations is a fucking clusterfuck. Some levels were fine, but most were literally boost to win. And it's way too short even with all the shitty side missions they forced at you.
the classic portion of Generations was where i had the most fun. it's pretty much what i wish to have going forward.
>but those Classic stages were done exceedingly well.
Did you ever play the original games? Generations "Classic" Sonic played nothing like them.
>overpowered spamdash
>constant boost pads and other scripted shit
>no intertia or momentum, Sonic feels weightless
No, this line has been spouted since shortly after the reviews came out, and it's a meme because the games still play like boosting, on-actual-rails, Rings magnetize to you, jump physics are wonky as fuck garbage.
The Hedgehog Engine was a mistake.
It's not just that. The level design leaves a lot to be desired, it's very short for a modern Sonic game, the soundtrack is lackluster, and the acceleration for Modern Sonic is cranked much too high.
This isn't everything because I haven't played it in years to remember, but if you want me to replay to pick out other flaws I can. I have the time.
DESU, I just wish they'd completely divide the series in two rather than trying to appeal to all fans with one game.
Make a classic Sonic game that actually plays/feels like a Genesis Sonic game rather than just having superficial visual similarities.
And make a big budget 3D Sonic game that only has 3D levels.
>The level design leaves a lot to be desired
you have to elaborate on this for the point to be valid
Generations was full of branching paths and shortcuts that required precision timing, punishing you with death if you were even a frame or a slight angle off. When it comes down to getting the best times, it requires just as much if not more precision and accuracy than the other games
Freedom Planet
>we're
>COLORS AND GENERATIONS WE ARE GOOD MEME
It's called 'mocking,' idiot.
>soundtrack is lackluster
You're kidding right?
>Generations
>One good track

Baiter? Ha! You're the Bait Poster around here. You're not even good enough to be my...
I know it's just my autism flaring but all of SEGA's Green Hill Zone merchandise and advertising looks really fucking awful. Where did they get that checkerboard floor from? It's not from the original game, the shadow between it and the grass is all wrong. Why does it have the hideous garish rings from Chaotix? And why do they use the Quartz Quadrant Zone mountains from Sonic CD instead of just using Green Hills actual background? Did ANY of Sonic's marketing deparment outside of twitter meme guy actually play the classic games?
"Mocking"
I don't mean the gameplay aspect of the level design. I didn't like the game enough to bother with trying to get better times once I was done. Once I got all the red rings, I stopped playing.
Everything past the Genesis stages is basically just how they were in their original games, just built to accommodate the new playground. This can be good for some, but I'm a big fan of what they did to stages like Green Hill and Chemical Plant, where you recognize the original stage, but it feels brand new. The later stages lacked that.
Sonic Generations 2
Classic Sonic except this time all sprite work and engine by Taxman, Modern Sonic developed by Sonic Team using the Colors gameplay
you heard it here first
>That butchery of Sonic Boom
You pasted the wrong link by accident right?
Sonic Boom would have been better if it was just Crush 40 or Cashell. Mixing the two was a mistake.
Stardust Speedway is a legit good track, and I can't believe I forgot it.
Sky Sanctuary is meh. It feels like something somebody would make for a YouTube channel. It's par.
>butchery
>imfuckingplying
>Colors gameplay
In general? Sonic 3&K.
As far as 3D goes? Generations was nice, boost2win aside.
I just wanna see where this obnoxious franchise goes next.
>Classic Sonic except this time all sprite work and engine by Taxman, Modern Sonic developed by Sonic Team using the Colors gameplay
At that point you might as well just make it two games, one on the Retro Engine and one on the Hedgehog Engine.
I can't see why this wouldn't be their end-game, it literally would be the best business decision they could ever make for Sonic. Make one branch of games for the Adventure/Unleashed/Generations audience, and one branch of games for 2D classic/Advance audience. It writes itself, and the fact that SEGA can't see that is fucking baffling from where I'm standing
I just want another Storybook game but that's never happening
Trying to appeal to everyone with a single game results in everyone being dissatisfied. Fans of the Genesis games don't want to play boostshit, and fans of the boost games don't want to play Genesis-shit. Why can't Sega separate 2D and 3D Sonic like Nintendo does with Mario?
Reminder that every single Sonic game is bad.
>publishers
>actually playing/caring about their material
In all honesty, the could put together a great Mario and Sonic platformer using Lost World/Adventure's and Galaxy's control schemes.
a man can dream...
Holy fuck I hope it's a sequel to Transformed.
Platforming Sonic games are all fucking trash.
I think Sumo is too busy with other games to develop another All-Stars Racing.
Yeah, just checked and they're working on Dead Island 2 and Crackdown 3. If another All-Stars Racing comes out, I doubt it would be from them.
haha, upvoted!
They're doing it guys! They're finally gonna make season 3 of SatAM!
Why June 23rd? Why not during E3?
Or maybe it could be the game's actual release date
>They're doing it guys! They're finally gonna make season 3 of SatAM!
ew
It's gonna be a reboot with Classic Sonic.
Print this post if you want.
As long as Tomoya Ohtani is doing the music I'm fine with it
>mfw even in a shitty f2p mobile game the music is still GOAT

>it's the Saturn all over again
Holy shit how did I not hear this before
Both a 2D and a 3D title being released would make the most sense. The 3D one being Adventure 3 is probably a no-brainer at this point, Sonic Team have tried a lot of weird gimmicky shit with the series and it's had mixed results at best. Playing the fan pandering card is probably the wisest move at this point.
For a potential 2D one, just keep it the fuck away from Dimps, for the love of christ, unless it's Rush 3 or something.
Best case scenario is that the 2D one is a brand new game by the Sonic Retro guys, but I won't raise my hopes up because nowadays I know better.
Holy fuck. It's like a written rule that no matter how shit a Sonic game is, the music will always be godlike.
Let's be honest, Sonic Boom's biggest crime wasn't bad gameplay or awful glitches, it was having the worst original soundtrack of any Sonic game ever.
Not counting Sonic Chronicles of course, none of the shitty midi rips in that game were even remotely original.
>you make a god-tier soundtrack
>the soundtrack gets wasted on a shit game
>people bash almost everything about the game
>but they always single out your contribution as one of the few redeeming qualities
Being a Sonic composer must be great, you get the praise even if the game is bad.
>June 23
E3 is literally 11 days away sega.
Stop making memes and get it ready for next monday.
>Sonic Boom's biggest crime wasn't bad gameplay or awful glitches, it was having the worst original soundtrack of any Sonic game ever
Not really sure how that happened, either. Wasn't Boom composed by Richard Jacques of Sonic R and Saturn 3D Blast fame (not to mention contributions to MSR, Outrun 2006, Sonic Generations etc)? What happened to him, did he just get bland and boring? It didn't feel like it was done by the same composer at all
4 episode 2
The 23rd is the anniversary.
Gotta say, I applaud them for growing a pair with Ep 2 and not just ripping off Sonic 1 and 2 like they did with Episode 1 (ripping off the wrong parts no less), but I thought Episode 2 sucked ass.
What will it be guys?
I thought it was okay. Not awful, but nothing impressive either.
For being called Sonic 4, it sucked, but if they just called it "Sonic The Mobile" it would be great for what it is
But nope, gotta get them nostalgiabux
Even worse, critics said the game was worthy of being called Sonic 4
Yeah, the original Sonic the Hedgehog came out on June 23rd, 1991. Maybe they have an event planned for June 23rd.
>Colors was good
YEAH, I SURE LOVED FIGHTING THE FERRIS WHEEL, SUBMARINE AND DROPSHIP RECOLORED TWICE!
Laziest fucking sonic ever.
Levels were good, bosses sucked besides the final boss.
Sega reconstructed the entirety of the original game in real life. Whichever autist survives the gauntlet will be declared the true greatest Sonic fan.
In Colors' defense, I'd rather have three average boss battles repeated once over, than play through all of Generations' bosses again. I would trade anything for them to just go back and completely redo the Giant Eggman Robot, the Shadow battle and most of all the FUCKING TIME EATER. That thing is the most offensively shit boss in Sonic history - yes, worse than Silver's chain-grabs in 06 - and they didn't even give it an epic final boss music like literally every Sonic game prior had.
So yeah. Colors is shit I'll give you that, but boss-wise I would happily fight a hundred of those ferris wheels and manage to squeeze more fun out of it than one run of the putrid time eater
>Playing generations console version
Theres your problem
Big Arm, Biolizard and Egg emperor are WAY better fights then the excuses the console version got.
Time eater has a much better fight on 3DS.
IAM A CLASSIC SONIC FAG GUYS LOVE ME!
>we're gonna get the sonic hunger games
Fuck that, I'm going to bounce between two springs for the rest of eternity
I thought the Shadow fight was kinda fun.
where is that webm that shows the physic comparison for old sonics and newer
Just stop.
>Sonic Adventure fans got old enough to post here.
It's a lose-lose situation there then, I own the 3DS version too, it has better bosses but dumb main levels. Green Hill, Mushroom Hill and Casino Night classic are just acts ripped straight from the original games (so what even is the point?), and the modern Sonic parts were pretty shitty and for the first time ever actually felt like "hold right/boost to win".
>decent story with good character tropes.
here we go guys, that one classic hater is back
>the new games are better! fucking nostalgiafags!
