Brutal Legend is unfinished. They had to cut out an entire world in the game, as well as an entire faction that you had to overcome.

The weird strategy battles are annoying at times, but I genuinely enjoyed the game.

If I was to tell anyone else to play it, I'd say expect the worst and hope you're pleasantly surprised.
At the least, it's playable, the characters are enjoyable and the soundtrack is pretty great.

Yeah Brutal Legend has plenty of metal music and many cameos or actual artists.
It starts off as an hack and slash action game, but quickly turns into an RTS game.
Basically an RTS where you can personally jump into battle and help out your recruits.
I had fun with it, despite me not really liking the RTS genre.
Metal games, I guess Hatred is a metal game but in my opinion it's pretty crappy.
I guess if you like twin stick shooters and edginess you might like it.
There's not a whole lot of metal games and if there is I can't think of any good ones.
I wish Dethklok made a budget game.

Brutal Legend does not change genres at some point, it switches from one or the other when you encounter a boss, as the boss battles are strategicalish in real time. But it is a lot of fun, the soundtrack is amazing, and you won't find a game as Metal.

I'm not a metalhead, but I do enjoy the music. I also play electric guitar and enjoy different types of music for their different compositions. You don't have to dress in all black to listen to metal.
