It's probably the most fair ultimate in the game because it doesn't automatically kill everyone on the other team with a single button press. You have to actually run into the enemy team and aim at them.
It is pretty OP, considering it can instantly regenerate a sentry from 1 hp to 800 the second he activates it, making anyone trying destroy the sentry absolutely fucked.
Except the Turret still exists and does most of the work with no effort, minus maybe it's placement.

Most heroes in the game can 1v1 his turret easily, it's not nearly as good as a Bastion watching over a point. It's main use is protecting a flank—Torb does most of the work on the front lines sniping enemies and handing out armor.
It doesn't regenerate to 800 hp. I recall it only having 600 hp the last time I used it in a game, when it had already taken some damage.

I've killed level 3 turrets a few times, it just takes a competent team to concentrate fire. Junk rat is a good counter, a zenyatta behind a Reinhardt shield also works suprisingly well. The turret has drop off damage at range, no?

Because Mei can ice wall the turret. And I don't mean put down her wall in front of the turret. I literally mean she can freeze the turret by putting an ice wall through it.
People don't know that Mei is an easy counter to Torb.

The turret isn't very strong without Molten Core, but it's still a pain that it has essentially infinite range and cannot be circle strafed.
