Tell me, Overwatch.
Why does your game lack stealth class's?
Tell me, Overwatch.
Why does your game lack stealth class's?
Unfun mechanic.
I assume it'll be added eventually. One of the dev videos says that was one of the ideas for a hero, but they didn't like it.
stealth is degeneracy
I expect a stealth class will be added in the next few hero additions. I am a fan of the game but knowing the avg blizzard player a stealth or cloaking char would be bastion levels of boogery tears. It's probably smarter for your players to get used to what's out before flipping the script with new mechanics.
Waifu magic
We already have Tracer, but does pretty serves the same purpose but visible.
spy is the worst tf2 class
Man Pharah is perfect
>adult korra
>samus
>Egyptian
>that stare she gives you and looks away
Of all the things to complain about, that's one of the very very few things OW does better than TF2. Cloaking in a multiplayer FPS is a gimmick
I aprove of your choice of Overfu
stealth is fucking stupid thats why
>waifu fags here to shit up another thread
I don't think they should add a combat stealther but a support who can temp stealth an ally it breaking when hit or attacking could be very cool and set up some sweet strats.
>shooting game
>oh hey let's have a guy doesn't really shoot anyone and turns invisible
yeah that's cool i guess
because stealth mechanics are inherently anticasual.
Blizzard wants the game to be pick up and play.
When you are starting out, TF2 spy is NOT easy whatsoever. Not easy to play and not easy to read/ understand.
Blizzard's thinking is
>how is that fair? how is it fun if you die to something you cant know as a beginner?
the game was made with simplicity in mind. It isnt necessarily bad or good, but it is popular.
how bout you make your own fucking imageboard faggot where there is no fun.
>spy
>stealth class
Nah there is nothing sneaky about tf2 spies. Disguises are do bare bones and everyone spy checks. It's basically luck to get a kill and not be seen.
Simply false. Tf2 classes have very low skill ceilings and a few of OWs are very high.
It breaks the pace of game by slowing it down.
so long as he doesn't get a one-shot backstab from behind like the spy has i think players will be okay. maybe damage could make a shimmer or something
Disguises are strictly for fooling sentries. You get kills by flanking and using your cloak smart.
but spy and pyro are the most popular classes for new players and pub shitters in general
Reaper is pretty much stealth with his teleport and wraith walk
untargetable =/= invisible
Being invisible is stupid.
i dont play overwatch but spy and sniper are bullshit classes.
now why wpuld you need something as retarded as that?
that isnt the consensus we've had since closed beta, but I respect your opinion
pyro yes
spy being a pubstomping class is exactly what I'm talking about.
You need a little more than 0 experience in order to deal with the class/ play it.
because then Widowmakers and Bastions would have to pretend to possess some level of situational awareness
Unlimited ammo for everyone would also make spychecking even more commonplace than it is even now in TF2 assuming disguise mechanics were the same
Because we know the spy is the worst class in TF2 so we avoided adding a shitty stealth character
Because sniper turrets with infinite range, instant stuns and characters that hook and one shot you from across an entire corridor are so fucking fun to play around
Because stealth classes are fucking stupid. They are either completely overpowered or completely shit and they have to be the former to not be the latter against any skilled and coordinated team. Reaper and Genji both fulfill the role of stealth classes as much as any shooter should.
Because stealth(invisibility) is fucking retarded and attracts the biggest shitters. If you want to be stealthy then you can already do so by moving to the flanks when no one is watching. You know, actual stealth.
Spy gained a lot of popularity because of the DR. Stealh is fine the way TF2 devs originally designed it: audible uncloaking, limited charge, collision detection, and a hard counter.
>Why does your game lack stealth class's?
It's 6v6. How many spies are usually in 6v6 TF2 matches.
>Reaper
>the guy yelling "DEATH COOOOMES" during his teleport
>stealth
While I never played comp tf2 in the early days, it usually seemed like a bad idea the less players there were on a server. Most players were conditioned to constantly check behind their backs.
as a spy main in tf2, spy checking has never been a problem for me, unless it's by a pyro, which overwatch currently has no class like (aka, class who deals lasting damage like burn effect), so I see no real reason to be worried about it.
>TF2 has 1 near perfect girl who isn't even playable
>Overwatch has at least 3 and they all are
>but only one stops porn of their characters
HA
I don't know who wins this battle desu.
spy has seen use in 6s
Some interesting plays can be done like disguising as an ally medic to fool the enemy team
or showing the enemy that your team is doing a sniper play but you're really a spy
A very tactical class. Very heavy on the mind games.
Stealth is objectively the worst.
No game needs invisishitters. Only shitters need invisibility so they can constantly utter "git gud" as they use a broken mechanic.
bounty hunter is picked in competitive dota 2 matches but is never banned. I know its a different genre but stealth can work.
Stealth classes:
Tracer (using 3 blinks can easily get you past enemy lines unseen)
Reaper (teleporting, especially to a ledge, gets you past enemy lines unseen)
Pharah (flying over buildings gets you behind enemy lines unseen)
Winston (jumping)
D.Va (flying)
Junkrat (bomb jumping)
Genji, Hanzo, Widowmaker (climbing skills)
Half of the classes in the game use stealth. There's just no classes that use cloaking (which is the shittiest, lowest-skilled form of stealth).
SPYCHECKING IS CANCER
what is sounds ?
Is that korra?
>People still don't get it
Reaper is OW's spy. It's literally the same concepts as spy from TF2, just executed much better.
>Short range, high damage
>Rapes supports and snipers
>Tools to get behind enemy lines
>Tools for escaping
Spy was a bullshit gimmick class, Reaper is basically what happens when you take those concepts and make them less bullshit/more viable.
Invisible characters in games also make sounds, yes. That was the main way of detecting spies in tf2.
Miss playing spy
>using the revolver on shitters thinking im trying to stab them
>backstabbing entire enemy offensives
>absolutely wrecking when the F2P update came out
> sapping sentrys just as heavy rolls around the corner to finish them off
I miss good tf 2, fuck valve, fuck valve so fucking hard for ruining that game
+$0.10
Since when does stealth mean you have to be invisible? I'd argue that Genji is a Stealth Hero because you actually have to navigate the map well to stay out of sight instead of having a free ticket to their back line.
If you crouch walk you make very little sound
As a spy pretty much all I did was use cloak and dagger to sneak to the enemy spawn freely then destroy their teleporter entrance. Then kill the engie when he comes back, then sap his nest. A bit slow but it helps the team.
