You ARE going to buy the Rx 480 instead of a GTX 1080, right user?
You ARE going to buy the Rx 480 instead of a GTX 1080, right user?
No.
Depends one what the 1060/70 and 490 look like.
The 480 is a tough proposition to pass up 2bh.
Has AMD got their act together with their drivers? My guess is no.
I would if I were in the market for a GPU. I have 980 ti and dont need to upgrade for years. It's not like games are graphically demanding these days anyway since all devs are so fucking shit
says the nvidifaggot that installs drivers that literally bricks his PC
Can't afford the 1080 so I'll probably get the 480
If it ends as cheap as they market it, I'll upgrade to it while Vega/1080Ti releases
>I heard that user-kun's a goy who buys Nvidia and shitposts about housefires all day
>Nvidia...ewwwwww.....
>The 480 is a tough proposition to pass up 2bh.
how do you know what it is whatsoever when you haven't seen hard numbers on the silicon and you've only seen benchmarks for the game most favorable to AMD out of all existing games?
reminder that we have ashes of the singularity threads all the time here on Sup Forums, it's a great game of the ____ genre where you play as a _____ and go around ______ ing
There have been leaked benchmarks.
>3dmark
do you understand that this is valueless? it's a synthetic benchmark. what's more, this doesn't reflect the *real* benchmarks released whatsoever
delete these it's making me wanna become a traitor.
Maybe.
I don't plan to upgrade until a year or two anyway.
You wouldn't want to dissappoint Amada-chan by being a good goy for Intel, user
Gee Bill, why does mom let you have TWO rx 480s?
no drivers!
O-of course not!
My R9 390 works well enough for now.
and unlike Nvidia cards itll probably last you even longer
>mfw the gtx 1080 is literally just a Maxwell that isnt gimped in DX12
>tfw going to cash in on the video card market crash and snag a 970 for 50$
We are living in amazing times bros
Tell me more about this crash?
It's the crash that'll happen if you install AMD drivers
rofl
>You wouldn't want to disappoint Amada-chan
she may be genki and have lots of cores, but she is just nowhere near as efficient as Intel
>buying Radeon
I'd like my video card to work with games, not just benchmarking software.
I'm not getting a new GPU this year since I have a 980 Ti and don't have a reason to upgrade.
If I've only got $500 to spend what's the best video card I can get?
>Efficiency
Wow your power bill jumped up by 2 dollars what a fiasco
nvidea will give you a reason to upgrade real soon
not really talking about power consumption, I need to play my autism strategy games where gpu is mostly irrelevant at a bearable speed. I switched from a 8350 and the difference is staggering in performance.
Depends. It's 5 Hundo. I have a pre build PC Asus CM6870. What do I need to get that graphics card working on my PC? Coolant? Please help. :)
post speccy
I hope this isn't too much but enough of what you need.

I just needed what parts you got, you don't computers much do you, give me a sec to shift through that vomit
I'm selling my gayman desktop thanks.
>brand loyalty
Just take a card that works
i'm glad poorfags can afford to be a PC bro
Just going to upgrade my 960 to a 970/980 when they drop. I dont under stand these threads. Who here actually fully uses the capabilities of top end cards?
PCucks.
The extremist who legitimately believe consoles are "cancer"
okay, if you want to get a rx 480 you are going to need a better power supply, around 600w to be safe knowing amd. don't cheap out on that either as it could brick your system, make sure to at a minimum get 80+ bronze 600w.
Your cpu should be fine and not gimp your performance at all, would be nice to have speccy to see exact motherboard to make sure you have a 16x pci slot or else its a no go
Obviously that means you have to choose Nvidia, because it's the way it's meant to be played™.
If you game on resolutions above 1080p you need them.
I think I found it with my outdated graphics card. I seem to be in the clear.
Other than that im really unsure if i found the information. Thanks a bunch, dude.
GRAPHICS CONTROLLER
Form Factor plug-in card
*Interface Type PCI Express x16*
Graphics Processor NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Video Memory 3 GB GDDR3 SDRAM
Video Interfaces DVI, HDMI, VGA
your good then, just get a decent power supply and your good to go, rewiring a prebuilt can be tough and make sure your case has the room.
I seriously have a hard time understanding how a computer operates. Sorry about that.
Yeah, dude. I'll be sure to investigate that. Again thanks!
just remember to unplug that shit, keep yourself grounded as in hold a onto a large piece of metal or get a anti static wristband for a few bucks so you don't shock the thing and break it. try to hold everything by the edges or by the gpu cooler if you can, touching the board itself won't break it instantly but I wouldn't risk the chance of a static shock bricking the thing. PC parts are not as fragile as you would think, they are quite durable in fact but it is always good to treat them like glass regardless to have a margin of error. guides on changing out a gpu and psu should be easy as shit to find on youtube. good luck
What the fuck would I even play with these crazy graphics cards.
I have a 7870 from forever ago seems like and I can still play all the latest game, just not 60 fps max settings.
And besides those are just the latest games. I've been playing Diablo 3, Risk of Rain, Mountain Blade, Rocket League, and any indie bullshit I could ever want with 60 fps easy.
Then again I don't have a 144hz monitor so it would be pointless for me to want a top-of-the-line card, so I guess I've answered my own question.
>What the fuck would I even play with these crazy graphics cards.
don't play new games so I guess just use them to push old games to extreme levels, stuff like 30k troop shogun 2 battles, I can kinda manage 20k on speed 1 but I would need a newer card to manage it well. Games past 2012 just don't seem as fun as games from earlier.

Thank you for all this information!!! You're the best user!
No I'm happy with my 390, waiting for Vega.
pcie and 6pin can only take a maximum of 150w. It's not going to magically draw more out of nowhere.
Cute! I love her!
What is Nvidia's answer to Amada Kokoro?
All their Japanese twitter has is dudebro shit
yeah because sli is totally not a meme waste of money.
