Game released 3 years ago. Usually hype for a game dies over time and you don't get a ton of extra sales porting it to a new system. There's a couple exceptions to this rule but it's not common.

This hits niche games even harder. Senran games have a decent fanbase but you look at sales numbers and the games at best sell a few hundred thousand.

Nothing went wrong for Steam. It's just another niche game thats fun but is going to be a slow seller.

The ones that actually spend that much on their computer are in the minority. Most just use a shitty laptop or 5 year old toasters.
