Westerners make a character bulky looking

>westerners make a character bulky looking
>skips leg day

fucking why? and it's not just stillborn shit, every other games seem to have this weird notion to have a big guy look like a gorilla in proportions

Why is his head so small

WHY DOES HE WEAR THE TINY HAT

It's to give the character a unique visual style while having them stay recognizable from 1 quick glance.

t. designer

apparently the reason is "cartoony!" yet you got other characters with relatively fine proportions

>implying you can't give a character a distinct visual style without going for the cliche'd "top heavy" look

It's possible they just wanted that style for the character. Tf2 was really good with this actually, every character had it's own unique shape and appearance so any player turning quickly around a corner or looking miles across the map would know what they were looking at in a microsecond.

but at the same time they don't have retarded proportions

Heavy still has the top heavy look, but they made it so that it is not very exaggerated so he is a bit easier to the eyes

Stillborn has the worst character designs I have ever seen in vydia.

Tf2 had good silhouettes but when the art standards got thrown out for community modders, those shadows went away

muh cartoony funnay 3D art style

I swear Battleborn needs some kind of reward for horrible character design. No matter how many times I see it, I still managed to be shocked by how bad it is.

BB artists need to look at TF2 for how to make strong proportions without going into full retard territory.

>they keep pursuing cartoony proportions with "realistic" graphics

disgusting

This is the heavy, where they quite obviously took inspiration from. There's the "cartoonish" proportions to emphasize that he's the big guy with the big gun but he still looks like a human being. Hell there's people bigger than this in real life, save for the arms maybe.

Caricatures are one thing but there's a point where it just becomes too much.

Exactly.

You can see the "top heavy" motif, but not to the point where it's retarded.

what the fuck is wrong with the proportions?

Everytime i see this guy all i can think of is this

Thanks, same for me now

Another style that manages to do the top heavy right is Paul Dini's.

why am I laughing

you missed a bit of the head, looks like a halo

If battleborn has headshot bonus damage maybe they made his head smaller since he's supposed to be a tank, while making his body bigger so he blocks more shots

Battleborn's designs range from painfully generic to utterly shit

oh fuck
FINAL VERSION 5.0
100000 hours in paint.net

>the only character I remotely liked in stillborn is the bird, regurgitating shit aside
>no fanart, clean or otherwise

You could fit 10 of his heads in one of his shoulders.

He does have though
It's musk fetish porn

Anyone got that Persona 4 screen cap where that one dude goes something like "Wow despite all the ingredients you put into this dish, it's amazing that it still came out tasting like nothing"

Because that's exactly how I feel about Battleborn. Maybe it sounded good on paper but the end result was ugly as sin.

the idea of his design was for the viewer to have attention towards his big muscular since how emphasized it is, while his head and legs are normal sized
they think this design makes you see him as this big guy, but since the art style is so shit his head just looks small and his legs are thin
such a design could work, just not in the shitty art style Battleborn has, though i don't think it could work in a 3D plane anyways

The pictures of this guy screaming with his tiny head are the best.

what the fuck am i reading

it works on cartoonish looking visuals but not through something like Battleborn

top heavy is a cartoonish proportion where the torso is shown bigger and the legs below are shown smaller

...

...

why does Gearbox ruin things by giving characters insipid dialog

I'll just pretend he squawks like a bird, it's kinkier that way

wat

>Gearbox writing

Do they even read this crap?

SICK ASS SPACE LAZERS

I feel kinda bad for Gearbox but on the other hand, they deserve it for fucking up games just to fund Bordermemes 2

Never feel bad for Gearbox. They deserve everything horrible that ever happens to them.

>the tiny ass head makes the rest of his body look like a fucking giant

seriously, are they just a bunch of kids who saw "kewl" stuff?

This is what a dragon looks like according to Square Enix

>look at the character designs
>only the bird looks fine
>see some gameplay
>unbearable art direction and unappealing generic FPS MOBA aside hear the godawful accent
and to think I once liked Gearbox for Opposing Force and Brother in Arms.

>been having fun with BB
>visit Sup Forums
>they hate everything
Yep.

Like mechas with scales?

>having fun

would rub his muscular scales/10

Yeah you would, wouldn't you?

litterally only reason i didn't buy this was because of this character stupid fucking design

Pretty much.
After BL2 you'll never ever want to hear the word "badass" again since it gets shoved down your throat to the point where it loses any meaning.

what's going on in this thread

what the fuck dude

>4 legs, 2 wings
Checks out.

what the fuck is this

shit

Shit can at least be used as fertilizer.
This is worse than shit.

>rear view

it's in Battleborn I take it

Name ONE instance legs have ever proved to be useful.

Neck cancer?

...

even if this is meant to be an ironic post, it sounds stupid

>yeah, I don't see the point of le-
>starts doing the Ragtime Gal

You win this round.

It's hardly a western thing, this shit keeps happening whenever retarded designers want to make/redesign a "strong" character

Ya just have shit taste, Stillborner.

Oh shit, what happened to the Crimson Chin?

yeah but Taz works, it doesn't look off proportional, and actually showed that he works his legs.

>tfw quads are underappreciated muscle groups

>he didn't play EYE: Divine Cybermancy
Point at this Jian and laugh.

OH GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO ONUA
WHY ARE HIS HANDS SO TINY NOW

Conveniently, their bottom legs are cropped. Even as a kid, I thought their flat designs were awful. Why the fuck are Mace-Girl's forearms bigger than her triceps? Why are the knees on Supes so fucking pointy? Why are his femurs as thick as his thighs? It doesn't even fit in with the rest of the cast.

The only thing they got right was shading.

>Mace Girl
>not knowing best girl's name Shayera

...
