Alright Sup Forums, it's 2006, you're on break from middle school/high school and mom won't buy you that new game you want, so you have to make do with downloading a F2P MMO. What do you play?
Pick related.

>2006
I graduated high school 2 years ago and am playing vanilla WoW
Lineage 2
Nothing.
In 2006 the only good free to play game was Runescape. Everyone else was just hoping someone still had a Halo PC or Quake 3 on the school server somewhere.
I wasn't born in 2006
Lol what? I'm obviously gonna take money from my mom's purse, this is a silly thread
In 2006 I was 22 and in college. I was playing WoW, why the fuck would I play a f2p MMO?
>not doing chores for an RS sub
Go away grandpa
I was playing WoW as well.
>WoW came out in 04.
Fuck me.
>Pick related
>still playing WoW
well I am, account started Feb 11th 2005
>it's 2006, you're on break from middle school/high school
You being a phoneposter does not surprise me at all.
Back to RuneScape for me. I used to use the pay-by-phone option and rack up our phone bill and this went undetected for months
Lineage 2.
>Feb 11th 2005
Holy fuck, the same exact day that I started. That's fucking creepy, are you stalking me?
coke music
I was 21 in college playing Runescape and I think you're a fucking faggot on a dildo ride.
You didn't go to ASU. ASU was a WoW only MMO school. Runescape shitters were not allowed.
Back when Halo 1 PC was buy to play. Making it Free to play was a fucking mistake
>mid 2000
>all these fun matches
>F2P at 2010s
>BRBRBRBRBR
>SPANISHSPANISHMEXICAN
>TFW stopped playing in between WotLK and Cataclysm
Dodged a bullet there. I went back to CoH for a while but I mainly played on my 360 due to irl friends
>All those people who laughed at me playing WoW started playing at the end of WotLK
Ragnarok Online private servers.
I was playing WoW in 2006, but since you said F2P i guess Runescape
>You will never go back to Runescape's prime
>Alright Sup Forums, it's 2006, you're on break from middle school/high school
jesus christ I feel old.
Man, I can't tell you how magically it feels to play Faction once it was release DURING THE SUMMER! It was one of my favorite summer vacation because of it. Alliance Battle and Fort Aspenwood all day every day.
is this game still going?
Dude holy shit I can so relate to this. It was so much fun talking to english speakers and genuinely having a good time. I still have some friends from years ago that I played that are on hotmail, I've even see their grad photos and shit. Fuck man, those were the good days. and exactly in 2010 all the spanish niggers went on and now there's no english speaking motherfucker on the game. Times change man, I guess nothing remains golden forever.
Wait, Halo CE was made free, no shit?
I kinda want to play again, but I lost the disk, and I don't feel like finding a torrent.
Go out and play sports with my friends.
Nothing more fun than hanging out with your friends and playing a game of B-ball.
Yeah, I remember spending my entire time either in Sniper Maps or Zombie maps. Both maps are great for a side chat
It free to play, but it full of cancerous BR and Mexicans.
What is that? Is that Kal Online?
OSRS comes close, I kind of think the addition of the Grand Exchange was both a blessing and curse.
On one hand, you don't need to spam for an hour looking for the one item you need, fighting against a tide of bots/other people spamming. On the other hand, it kind of takes away a bit of the interaction.
I checked out RS3 pretty early on, I liked some of the quests, and I like how the updated character models looked, but it changed too much, didn't feel as fun anymore.
Oh never mind. Anyone played Kal? Or ROSE?
Looks like Silkroad Online.
>ROSE online
that game was the very definition of a korean grind
>Opening the mysterious gates and crossing into Taverley for the first time
>that dread crossing WWM
>the first comfy feeling of experiencing Catherby
>Picking, spinning and selling your first 1k bs
>getting your first torso
>doing underground pass
>somehow managing to finish MEP2
>One Small Favor
> Monkey Madness
Man I could go on for days.
Do you remember ever trying out the CE Mod Maps? There were some great things like OoT, these big ass ones, and of course rainbow road. It was so much fun spawning vehicles and shit and trying jumps out with someone shooting a rocket launcher.
Blood Gulch has to be hands down the Facing Worlds of our time. I can't remember how many heated battles got when you're rallying around the base with a gunner trying to stay alive while gunning every mouthbreather down. Nothing felt more epic than killing the invisible guy with the shotgun, getting out the base and getting home in time to plant that shit down.
Continue playing my favourite private server for Ultima Online, obviously.
Or maplestory.
Sounds gay as fuck
I never try the Custom Edition because I never heard of it at the time. I was sticking to Online play while finishing the game in Legendary every other month. I remember I stop playing the game at one point because it always Crash to Desktop and I didn't know it was a bad graphical card driver.
Hanging out under the Atlas statue on City of Heroes
>playing runescape for the first time
>think its an awesome MMO
>love running around doing things
>trying really hard to get better armour and gear
>spend a lot of time grinding
>eventually stop playing becuase I don't know
>years later
>look back into runescape
>realize all the magic of the game is gone
>its just people rushing to 99, just so they can have all 99 and then nothing else
>why did I ever play that game
EHP autists killed it.
Well after Squeal Of Fortune of course.
>Hybrid bow pacheon/cold/force
,,Hybrid" as in adding str or int whichever I feel I lack atm..
Reminds me of myself and my first character in SRO so much, those were good times man
So does Greek Wrestling but I bet Gaius and Aulus had a friendship even vidya couldn't break because of it.
>I enjoy getting sweaty and grappling other half naked men
Fucking normies
Ultima Online Paradyce Trinity free shard.
My negro. Costume contests all day every day.
>half naked
>not fully naked
What's the matter? Ashamed of your own body?
Only the greatest MMO ever.

Reading the graffiti makes you realize that people haven't changed at all.
I was also playing WoW in the last half of 2006, started 6-9-06 (two days after my birthday) and played fairly consistently up until May 2009.
However, I did spend a LOT of time in the last '00s, and probably early '10s, playing f2p MMOs. I would spend hours crawling through random MMO lists on random MMO websites looking for anything interesting.
>2006
>Still in school
In 2006 I was working at my geology internship. I was also raiding in WoW for what little free time I had.
Too bad it's ded and you can't pick it anymore.

Oh my dick 9 Dragons...
I miss Acclaim's MMOs so much, I wish 2 Moons still had an American server...
It's called Draken or some shit now I think and its only got EU servers
>tfw temp-muted for trying to red pill people at thzaar
Ultima Online on a player-run RP shard.
The feels bro.
I miss that game
I was 28 in 2006 and started playing WoW that summer.
No worries, I'll download Shadowbane since it went F2P in 2006.
>2006
>not playing WoW, FFXI, Everquest 2 or City of Heroes
kill yourself, poorfag
Time for Knight Online :))
RAGNAROK
Would currently be on MasteRO
I was playing with mods and emulators. I did play Maple Story a few years earlier, but dropped it because it's Grinding: The Game. I have no idea why you fags love that game. The music is literally the only good thing.
>mfw falador massacre is tomorrow
>mfw It happened 10 years ago
That also means Construction has been out for over ten years now, and yet I still think of it as a "newer skill"
Tibia.
Well you are, but so are a lot of us. Not entirely convinced I should still browse Sup Forums but fuck it.
>Summoning is 8 years old already
>I still remember the day vividly where Falador-Camelot was at a blistering 5fps as 2/3s of the world converged to Taverley
SecondLife because it's better than porn.
I played kal. Would do it again!
>Feb 11th 2005
That's the European release date mate
That's hilarious even to Brazilians.
holy shit this is great
It won't be the greatest until the rest of it goes FTP as well.
Thats typically what goes on whenever you see a brazilian in a F2P game. Him and 40 of his relatives chimp screaming at the computer.
Was that the one where you could behead stuff to gain back a little hp?
Jesus, lan houses in 2006-2008 was the best shit here in brasil, most kids didn't have pc home so everyone would go there to play CS or Tibia.
Yes. A Korean free MMO with 3 (now 4) classes... loved it... great skinner box.
>here in brasil
Neck yourself, subhuman.
Tibia then. Otherwise I would have been paying for RO.
>2006-2008
Were you too young to catch the CS years in 2002-2006?
Yeah I played the open beta when I was 14 or so. I remember telling the GM to add a minimap or co-ordinate system and him asking if that was really necessary.
Nah, he was just too poor. Being a monkey and all that.
Was Metin2 released by then? If not, then Dofus
