I mean, he resides deep inside some military base that I'd imagine few people venture into (at least willingly), and his loyal subjects tend to be almost as visually fucked up as him.

God, I miss the old PC days when the characters they made actually were pretty disturbing. I think it was the low poly count or how inaccurate the proportions were. Is there anything else?

Fallout 1 was better than 2. The Master is part of the reason why.

Fallout 2 is better. Way more content and ways to do quests. 1 has the better story though.

Yeah, the bad resolutions/polys add to both the "harsh" aesthetic and a bit of player imagination.

Fallout 2 is great when playing through it for the first time, but to me it feels like a complete fucking slog when replaying it. I've tried to remedy it by doing different builds and ways of resolving quests but to no avail. Fallout 1 may be really short but I never had a problem with getting back into it.
