>gamezone.com/news/the-unreal-engine-4-fan-resurrection-of-star-wars-battlefront-3-has-been-approved-by-steam-3440047

So this is happening

EA Rekt

How far into development are they?

Instant Lawsuit

Absolutely no way this doesn't get cancelled

...

Looks like it's going to have less content than EA's shitfest.

Someone's gonna have to answer to the mouse.

They could get around every ea and Disney rights bullshit by just only using stuff from the EU since Disney has declared everything not OT and Their Films / Rebels Not Canon.

>YFW mando faction allied as BH with verpine shattergun and stohkli spray stick

The battlefront equivalent to the Empire at War thrawn mod would make my dick diamonds

Also Clone Wars is cannon.

Doesn't mean Disney doesn't have rights to it because its non-cannon.

Further;

>flying ewings and tie defenders and clawcraft

>blasting things with charrics and disruptors.

>Nulls Rep Commandoes

This.

Disney will take this away.

Exactly. So long as they use star wars stuff that disney say 'lol doesn't exist fuck you' there's no infringement.

>kyle katarn. Mara. Corran. Exar kun etc jedi/sith 'heroes'

>destroy the hyperspace gun mission

>truce at bakura imps+rebs vs ssi-ruuk imperium campaign.

Just means they use EU stuff further afield.

in b4 Disney sues

According to Disney World devestators ressurected clone emps dark side Luke isn't star wars. So disney would be in a catch 22. Either they stick to their canon stance and the game is unmolested. Or they have to cascade re-canon everything and 'we' get it back. It'd be to financially innefficient for them. They're ultra turbo jews remember and spending money that won't make them more money is anathema to the jewest.

>For free

You're paying for it one way or another.

Should've kept it under wraps until release.

They are gonna want donations

just because EU isn't canon doesn't mean they aren't stealing from it. star wars is star wars, and they own it all

Go install gentoo or something.

Are you a child?

>he shared this for everyone for free
>russians took what he shared for free and remade it for free
>they got it to steam greenlight and are putting it out for free
>FOR
>FREE

Wow an actual informative vidya article that isn't clickbait by a gamer grill journalist. There's a first time for everything I suppose.

You really shouldn't fuck with Disney. They are a scary bunch of mother fuckers.

They'd break my legs

>EA owns Battlefront rights
>Disney owns Star Wars

The guy will be sued to death

They'd do a lot worse.

Double penesued

>Imperial warlords
>K-wings
>New Republic star destroyers and Viscount Star "Defenders"
>Thrawn
>Pellaeon

I will still never understand where people got the idea that 90% of the EU was pure shit from. It was more like 10% of it was abysmal, some of it mediocre and some of it like anything Zahn or Rogue Squadron was god tier.

>they think they can get away with fair use
whatever they pay their lawyers its too much.

besides, they are using leaked assets, meaning they are using stolen work that can never be fair use.

What OS do you think I am posting from?

Call it Space Wars Battlefront
Rename Republic with Forces of Light
Rename Empire with Forces of Dark
Rename all major charatcers and events leaving them intact
Make it free
There
Fuck the laweyrs

Disney hasn't sued or issued any C&D orders towards anyone who has created fan edits of the Star Wars films (except one person who was actually doing a professional restoration job and someone that actually works in the film industry) so I don't see why they'd C&D this. It's not something that is professionally done. It's something that's fan made.

Arch?

Competition with games in development.

It's not competition if it's fan made, at least in Disney's eyes. Why do you think Harmy hasn't got any C&D orders? Because it's an amateur job. Same thing for Team Negative. But they did give a C&D order to a guy that was actually doing a professional job. The guy doing that restoration said he was going to finish it and present it to Disney.

>it's okay when they do it for free

Making fan edits of old films is quite a bit different than putting a new free Battlefront game on Steam when EA is pushing new Battlefront games.

In addition, publishing something on Steam is different than setting up your own website and distributing it from there.

Valve's protecting them and their using another title, literally get rekt EA.

Someone explain to me how this is supposed to work legally. Does fair use apply because it's free or something?

Valve will protect them until EA or Disney sends them a letter. Doesn't matter if they change the name if it uses the assets and looks similar enough.

Debian.

then have a mod in the steam workshop secretly by the devs themselves that renames everything back to what they're suppose to be
