also toolboxes are bullshit atm, these fuckers get rid of all my hooks and I just can't do shit at that point, finding to/getting to the basement takes too much time and they wriggle out of my grasp at which point I may or may not catch them again to repeat the process, in which all they have to do is run away from my last hooks to guarantee I can't actually kill them, quite frustrating

>reset my trap and wonder if he'll come back
>hear a generator blow and the downed guy was bleeding out so hook him up

You have to place survivors on sacrificial hooks to kill them.
If they struggle they die faster but have a chance to escape. never struggle

What's a toolbox?

They allow survivors to break almost all your hooks.
with a rare powerup you can murder everyone without a hook
This is very satisfying in combination with the above.

Learn the spots of the map that are easier to juke in, junkyards/ruins/buildings etc
As a note you can break away from even good killers if you manage to land a few pallets in his path

You have the tools to stop it. Set a trap inside one of the windows, or set a trap along the wall outside between two windows.

Any window that's not part of an actual building is incredibly easy to catch a survivor trying to use multiple times.

You can bleed out while on the ground too

Rank 11 killer here. Trapping the shack is the first thing I do every single round. Don't neglect it. The killer is fast and it doesn't take long even if you start on the opposite side of the map.

Don't just be placing traps wherever. They need to go where survivors are likely to move through, like chokepoints around generators.

No, it's just that windows and the like are well-travelled routes, whereas any arbitrary patch of grass may not.

Set the trap BEFORE not after, duh.

It's not impossible to predict where survivors are most likely to run through. I always set my traps in spots where they'll have the advance, outside windows and around areas with lots of generators.

There's only 2 buildings each round, the 1 small shack with 2 windows and a doorway, then the "theme" building. I'm sure you'll do better on your third attempt at playing the game :^)

Yeah I dunno it bugged out or something. There were only four in the lobby but somehow a fifth joined shortly after we started.

It's really baffling how little I see killers use traps. People are fucking blind and a well placed trap can make or break a game.

You can use it against them for now. It's going to become a massive problem in the future when people learn the game, but for now you can take advantage of their communication.
