But it turns out that the script was annoying as hell, since the block place sound played whenever an old block was revealed

add HD and above resolution support
windowed mode and controls (assuming we are talking about .54)
optional and balanced side arms and heavy weapons
also remove SMG or make it not shit

That's a start but the idea was to make a Openspades version that was compatible only with itself and share it on Sup Forums only.
Here's an idea: "backpacks"
every player can choose to spawn with one backpack. backpacks give a special ability when equiped. players can also drop backpacks and pick them up. you have to drop your backpack to carry intel.
Some examples of possible backpacks:
>advanced construction-kit
allows you to reinforce blocks. a reinforced block has 3x normal hitpoints and can only be damaged by the pickaxe and explosions.
>deployable ammo box
allows you to place an ammo box like a block.
you can always get a new box at the supply tent, but you can only carry one box at a time.
>fist aid kit
allows you to heal other players. has 200 hp as "ammo".
>time-bombs
gives you 3 deployable timebombs. the timer can be set at up to 30 seconds. you can start the timer without placing the bomb.

also there is no more vom cam and the gameplay is much smoother
