That was disappointing. It wasn't bad, but it felt like a weak follow up to Hearts of Stone.
That was disappointing. It wasn't bad, but it felt like a weak follow up to Hearts of Stone
What was so bad about it? Compared to Heart of Stone.
I agree, silly sister fight story, too many chore Places of interest. Cool setting though.
The Warble of a Smitten Knight was a geat quest.
Probably the best in the whole game
story, the closer to the end the less sense it makes
It's not "bad' per se, HoS was just a tough act to follow and it had one too many nudges and winks. In my opinion at least.
The world is nice. Weaker story line than HoS though. Hard to top a villain like Gaunter O'Dimm
Heart of stone narrative was more carefully planned, Blood and Wine is basically something meant to make you relax and chill after the main story
I'm now about to start it. Really enjoyed HoS. I feel a bit let down already after hearing what you guys are saying :/
Please someone say it's good
Characters are all shit apart from Regis (who doesn't have a shit-tier foreign accent)
It's just the main quest that's not has good as HoS.
Everything else is fantastic, starting with the region it's set in.
...
>those pathetic static clouds
>that "instant sky box change" at around 11 seconds
>Clouds don't move
I never noticed this.
New region, new leveling system, a house, new enemies, it's pretty great. And the main story is still good. I think it's a better expansion than HoS, just not as good a main story.
Does anyone have a checklist of all the quests in B&W? I've done the main quest and a ton of side ones but I've most definitely missed a few.
It's a mod and it doesn't do real time clouds or npc animations, the module that does is broken atm.

>I think it's a better expansion than HoS, just not as good a main story.
This
HoS was definitely better story wise, but it added no land.
>Games make a huge deal about wine
>Loot a fuckload of wine
>Get a vineyard
>Wine and vineyard are useless
Corvo Bianco could've been amazing, that's what hurts the most
it's miles ahead HoS, how comes you listen to this contrarians GQ ?
It did add land, it just blends into the already existing map so it's not really that noticeable.
I liked it. It had many good quests, manticore armor is nice, mutations are pretty fun and lots of content in general. Main story wasn't as strong but I expected as much, since HoS was basically only the main story without side stuff.
It was literally impossible to tom HoS.
It added a decent amount of land west of Novigrad/Oxenfurt, and a bit more north as well I think
I love that mutation that boosts your power you up the more enemies are on your screen, adds a nice red ghosting effect to Geralt and it looks damn cool.
I enjoyed it more than HoS.
>Anna Henrietta
>shit
I don't care about any of these dumb frogs or their stupid customs.
I wish I could've sided with the vampires and help stamp out a corrupt system.
What is interesting about her?
Shes a good ruler, cute af and wants to go into action with you, would be top waifu if yen wasnt in the game
>uh-huh it doesn't matter that my sister actually ordered all the killings, dude kill the vampire lmaoooo
The more I went in the main storyline the more I disliked her.
>doesnt matter
She just didnt want her sister to get lynched by the angry mob because she had royal blood and all she still got her arrested and the vampire was a clear threat to everyone even more than her sister

But seriously that looks pretty neat.
>caring this much about unimportant shit
I certainly felt the main story was weaker compared to HoS because it lacked some strong and developed antagonists, and didn't feel sufficient length-wise to support two stories. Regis and Anna Henrietta were fun to have, but we didn't get enough of them. What B&W does much better than HoS though is in sidequests and sheer number of things to do. Also you get some good loot like Aerondight and Manticore armour so it's not all that bad.
>finished both of the dlcs
>want to replay the game and the dlcs
QUICK
IS NG+ ANY GOOD?
well its pretty much just the same, everything just have a higher level and better stats
>good monarch
>good looking
>good at following you around
Superficial rubbish, really. Nowhere near as interesting as a character such as Cerys.
explains why the Living statues are fucking my ass so fantastically hard. Playing blood and wine on NG+ for the first time. Single enemies are easy to avoid but this group of 6 is brutal
Any tips, the casters seem to summon the fire right next to you, I can deal with them but the moment I make even one mistake with the spearmen I get instant killed. Im taking about 45% of my total HP as damage per hit and generally one of them will suddenly block a strike and the stun is enough for the other two to stab my dick before I can backstep
Why even respond if you've got nothing of worth to say?
that fight was bullshit alright, i kinda cheesed it, i kept spaming side step and got close to the mages, attacked then, and side steped again, than after a long time doing this i killed then, then i just git gud to kill the spear guys
I haven't heard that many good things about it. Some people say it causes some quest bugs and you're just going to end up perhaps even more under leveled that you were in the base game.
and you do?
Shes pretty much the same as Cerys, she just isnt as tumblr as Cerys
>under leveled
>in W3
What's this fresh memery?
>never finished TW3
>got around 3 hours away from reaching Kaer Mohren
>still haven't played Hearts of Stone either
>decide to start new game
>8 hours later I'm done with all the quests in White Orchard
>reach Velen
>immediately distracted by a million more side quests
>all this side stuff is why I originally had around 80 hours and never completed the actual story
If there's one thing I dislike about TW3 it's that it feels as though there's too much content at times.
Also, make sure you have the hidden treasures disabled on your map, no points going for those outside of the ones you stumble upon between quests.
>not going for that sweet new moon armor
Its like you dont like to hit hard
The Yen banter and historical discussion of Geralts history with the Ann Craite with Cerys is better than anything discussed with Henrietta
>lol dandelion the scoundrel
>go get my sister Geralt
>lol you suck Geralt shouldve sent my hounds desu
>my sisters responsible for killing half the country but who cares - love you sis!
I honestly don't get why they went with vampires for this final story. I mean they take Geralt to an Arthurian fantasy land so vampires are pretty much the last fucking thing on my mind. Shouldn't they had done something like a dragon or something more traditional to play around with?
Those two sister should just fuck each other, would have solved everything
>tfw CDPR will never make a Lord of the Rings trilogy RPG
What ever happened to that Skyrim mod those lads were trying to turn into a LOTR game?
I agree, I feel like Hearts of Stone was definitely better in terms of characters and narrative. Only thing better about Blood and Wine was that it gave a new area to explore and graphics were slightly improved.
Yes
Its ok if you like manly tumblr girls user :^)
Hearts of Stone had better story but Blood and Wine had better everything else.
Loved both of them really.
>yelling about clouds
>CDred reveals they've bought rights to use the STALKER ip from that Sergay guy
>proceed to shit all over Bethesda, again
Toussaint is a fairytale monsterville.
Only good thing about explorations were the Hanse
>HoS
better main quest
better characters
>BaW
better region
better side quests
Witcher 1 armor
They wanted to reintroduce Regis, one of the fan favorite characters.
>mfw koziołek matołek is in the game
DLCOTY
Damn why does that look so much more free flowing than when I play?
Does it have something to do with fast attack skills?
We already defeated a dragon, B&W has a far stronger foe, probably the strongest monster Geralt ever fought, which is a nice way to end his story.
The actual expansion is much better than HoS but HoS's main story and antagonist were better
B&W had much more good content though, and an actually good final boss to make up for the joke the Wild Hunt King was
O'dimm was the strongest
It had good side characters but Dettlaff was a weak antagonist. His motivations and anger issues were puzzling to me. Nothing he did or said made sense to me.
>ARGHHH I NEED MY GIRL BACK
>ARGHHH MY GIRL TRICKED ME SHE MUST DIE
seriously
yes there are ability points that make fast attack a 'whirl' attack or something along those lines.
O'Dimm isn't a monster though, he's something completely different. If we're talking beings classified as monsters, taking on a true higher vampire is definitely the toughest thing Geralt's faced.
Regis talks about how hes way more emotional then humans, and he's a vampire so its not like he cares about anything but her
You can't traditionally fight Gaunter, though
I'm using two mods that, while not adding anything to the combat in itself, give it a lot more oomph.
nexusmods.com
(updated version drive.google.com
and nexusmods.com
You'd think that the higher vampires would want to stop the wild hunt, since they were going to destroy the world the vampires are living in, why didnt they help
Geralt doesn't actually fight O'Dimm
O'Dimm would kill Geralt and Dettlaff if he wanted to because he's not bound by the same rules of space and time.
The Wild Hunt were a bunch of faggot elf scrubs who's entire army couldn't even beat 5 Witchers
They posed no actual threat
Uh, ok what about that nigga that killed regis that one time, he killed a higher vampire therefore hes stronger than one and geralt killed him so thats that :^)
that nigga is a super high level wizard that even geralt couldn't beat without help
also he didn't kill regis because only a higher vampire can do that :^)
Can you get a new colored Roach, or are you still stuck with the brown or black one? Is the horse armor from this area at least cool looking? Any nice trophies to look at as well?
Armor for roach is pretty much heavy knight horse armor, and
>wanting a new roach
get out of here roach is a true nigga
The grind for those new mutations is a fucking bitch.
He was only dangerous because she ordered him to be.
She never ordered him to attack the city
He destroyed a city because his bitchy gf left him, i think thats pretty dangerous
immortal apathy and plot convenience.
She played him. If she didn't, that whole thing wouldn't happen in the first place, but she had to return to get "revenge" after all those years.
If he wasn't such a bitch nothing would have happened either
What if some other girl came and liked him and he liked her but instead of leaving him she got killed by some thief or something like that, he would get pissed off the same, he is a threat, hes an emotionally unstable super strong higher vampire
>he would get pissed off the same
He would likely just kill the dude.
Just like the whole city had to pay because his gf left him
I found it hard to believe a higher vampire couldn't find some trollop who wasn't that far away, I know they said she knew him so well she could cover her tracks but he couldn't get his other higher vampire friends to help?
It wasn't because she left him, he gave her a chance to redeem herself, after all.
if by chance you mean, come talk to me or i'll destroy the city, and when she does show up he puts his claws into her guts then yea
>he puts his claws into her guts then yea
You didn't buy the ribbon for her, did you?
Only Dettlaff died on my file, cutt hat bitch's head off and Regis did the rest
If she showed up, the city wouldn't get destroyed. He only wanted the revenge on her, but had to do a stipulation just in case.
>making Regis kill his friend who saved him from being a fucking slime
I did, he still tried to kill her all the same
So they should bend the laws of the land and all just so he could get his little revenge
Guy was a loose cannon, he had to go, even the Elder Vampire agreed with that.
What happens when you go see the elder vampire? I might replay and make the other choice.
Don't do it. It's not worth it. Did it first time and you're basically railroaded into the duchess getting shanked by her own hair ornament.
Dettlaff was a good boy, he dindu nuffin hands up don't shoot am I right fellow Witchers?
