Nah, that's how it always goes with Arcsys. They do it all the time and never lose because their fans are absolutely rabid and would buy the title even if it only added 1-2 characters.

Compared to Overwatch there are plenty. Overwatch is so dumb it makes Battlefield look like rocket science. Plenty of other shooters allow for out of the box strategies due to outsmarting the player instead of the character selection screen.

Many Blazblue tracks produced by Daisuke sound more like guilty gear XX music than the Xrd soundtrack. He obviously wanted to try something new with Xrd and the result was a less melodious, more generic and mostly forgettable soundtrack. It's a real shame considering I've always preferred guilty gear to blazblue. I hope Daisuke can eventually find his way back to what made the XX soundtrack good.

I don't even think Xrd tracks were bad. Just not GG enough for most people.

Some themes are pretty awesome, like Silent Scream, X-Matic (1 primarily, second is butchered), Plastic Night (both), Jin's theme is also good and so is Platinum's first one. The rest is good to meh.

I still prefer GG XXs soundtrack though, even Korean version was badass (although some themes were shit, like Bacon). Robo-Ky in Jap XX had the worst theme though, it's literally boring machine + bird noises

I wouldn't mind if the soundtrack for the next game was more like Overture's. The game itself might not have been too good but it's music is godlike.

I liked Magnolia Eclair. It was the best of the new soundtrack.

Ky's new theme was alright yeah.

BB is more rushdown, offense and combo focus, with a bigger emphasis on character loyalty due to the Drive system, while GG is more knockdown and set play focused, with heavy damage and shorter combos.

And BB is basically their "AAA" franchise; it's as much of a fighting game as it is a VN and has tons of merch sales.

Guilty gear is for cool people that like intricate fighting game systems
