Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
Suikoden 2 was a good fucking game too though.
you know I've owned the physical cart for over ten years and never put more than an hour or two on it. My friend says it's good but annoying dungeon puzzles. I'll give it a shot soon though.
other jrpgs
final fantasy6
grandia
I'm currently playing Suikoden 1 and it's relatively shit, although not the worst jRPG I've ever played.
Are the sequels better?
Vagrant Story
Do I have to play any other Ivallice games to enjoy Vagrant Story?
2 improves 1 in general. It's everything a sequel should be.
Grandia 2 > Grandia
not at all, it only sort of shares the setting

aw man...suikoden 1 was solid. it wasn't OMG AMAZING...but it was pretty solid in every way. the pacing is really fast so you're never wandering around or wasting time.
I'm not sure if suikoden 2 will convince you to like the series. it's basically suikoden 1 on steroids but the formula is pretty much the same...just a little better and longer in most aspects.
Yes, play Suikoden 1, keep the savefile and start Suikoden 2. The developer said that Suikoden 1 was rushed and basically a testrun before Suikoden 2
I can't play this game because of their gigantic noses.
no way. I actually replayed them back to back this past winter. they are both amazing...but the first is slightly better. better character customization...and the characters were more memorable to me. did you play 2 before playing 1 for your first time with the series?
Thanks.

I hear this games has several remakes. Why do you recommend this one, specifically?
...
Yes, G2 was my first Grandia game.

>create the best track in the entire franchise
>it only plays at one short specific point in the entire game
you fucking wot
>Why do you recommend this one, specifically?
because it's an update on the sega cd version without losing the old school charm. it has nearly all the original voice actors and the same team/director from the sega cd version. it does look different but again...it's stylized in a way to keep the old look/feel.
the psp stinks because the voices are changed. the intro song is changed. some story elements are changed. they stupidly let you get involved in the prologue with the legendary heroes which ruins the cannon for the world. it's 100000 times more mythical/magical when that battle is implied through description.
I hear you. one thing with series...sometimes the first we play from the series we like tend to be the one we like most. grandia 1 was my first...
