>The villain is a cute girl
>You can join her, and rule the world together

TTYD?

>An ancient evil awakens

It all makes sense now

Oh, that would be us.

>ancient evil is literally you from the future of your past self in another dimension

>The 'villain' had created a better world, but with a few restrictions.
>The player destroyed that and caused pure chaos.
>The player is hailed as a hero in the end.

>The villains are wrong, but neckbeards on the internet think they're smart and contrarian for calling the bad guys "right"

Is what you really meant

Literally Steel Ball Run

>villain is the people's champion

based gun jesus

>an ancient evil awakens
>you are the ancient evil

Literally what the fuck are you talking about

Valentine didn't give a shit about the world. Even if he wasn't lying to Johnny about how noble he was (which by bringing the gun over he probably was), Valentine wanted America specifically to be a better place at the expense of literally everyone else. It's basically "I FIGHT FOR MY NAPKIN"

>protagonist canonically gets laid

The guy who's actually stupid powerful if he felt like it but only does the bare minimum, because he's probably lazy.

YOU WERE DEAD THE WHOLE TIME

> One of the secondary antagonists gets cucked so hard by MC he goes insane.

>>is legitimately trying to make the world a better place from a philosophically logical standpoint.

people use this "logic" to defend the piece of shit known as Handsome Jack

>makes immortality real
>a villain

Hilarious.

he was a selfish, greedy, motherfucker.

The world is better off without him

Well, maybe not the whole world, but he wanted to make America a better place.
It's been a while since I read it, but I'm pretty sure Johnny just wanted Valentine to not have the corpse parts because Valentine killed a few people

MAGA

>antagonist is right
>but MC is right as well

>the real villian was your childhood friend

Does vidya have an "I did it thirty-five minutes ago" villains?

But Trump loves Israel.
Where the fuck is this perception coming from that isn't a Jewish bootlicker either?

>game makes you think its going to be L.A Noire with cool ghost powers, shooting ghost bad guys with cool ghost moves because you have a fucking ghost revolver on your hip the whole damn game
>spend 90% of the game answering questions that make sure a good half of your brain didn't drop out of your skull while you were playing and escorting the blue haired chick from Life is Strange around town.

How the fuck do you mess such a simple premise up.

Fuck off Sup Forums

Pic very related

DmC did this

Fuck them

>Villain knows his role

>vergil is shown to be kind of pragmatic and somewhat cold/distant but generally sensible
>dante instantly starts shit because muh human freedom
That was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Solidius is the biggest "he did nothing wrong" villain in gaming history

Prove me wrong

Solidus*

>ancient evil awakens

>There are people on Sup Forums right now who believe Ozymandias did nothing wrong

>keikaku doori villain gets completely blown the fuck out, humiliated and killed by a side character who was an actual keikaku doori master

kerrigan was far worse

>starts as good guy
>turns into bad guy
>becomes good again
>just kidding becomes evil again
>psyche I'm good again haha there's a worse villain now
>now I'm super saiyan yaya hOi!

for fucks sake starcraft shat itself in the story department

>futurepastevil you tries to kill you to stop you from unleashing an even greater evil
>in the process of attempting to gain power to fight futurepastevil you, you unleash the greater evil
>You and futurepastevil you team up to fight the greater evil

People vote against their better interests all the time so it makes sense that a hero would be the one to ruin things for them.

>you stop an ancient evil from awakening
>but then The Force tells you to take over the world and you have to either kill yourself to oblige it, or kill yourself to stop it

>each faction of the game has a fair point and you're not wrong for picking any one of them

muh strawmans

>conquer the evil beast
>the world is worse off because of it

is this the world you were meant to bring about Arisen?

>Big Bad appears and kills your beloved
>Once you beat him, Big Bad reveals there's an even bigger bad and he was actually you from the bad future where you never fought the Bigger Bad, and he came back in time to get you strong enough to fight it

holy fuck infamous was a wild ride

>protagonist makes more sense than the antagonist
>"wow! what a mustache twirler!"
>antagonist makes more sense than the protagonist
>"wow! what a dumbass!"
>both make equal amounts of sense
>"wow! I don't care about any of these characters!"
>both don't make any sense
"wow! I don't care about any of these characters and they're dumb as fuck!"

Fuck, I hate this. I can't recall what was specifically guilty of this but I know at least a few movies/books/games all did this, where the hero just wants to help his friends and his love or whatever the fuck whereas the villain has actual goals and ideals for a better future and due to needing radical change happen is therefore evil.

>israelis are the same as rootless cosmopolitans
Even israelis hate the muh no boarders didndu appeasers.

Vayne Solidor.

Metzen was too busy snorting bumps.

>Both the hero and villain operate from a morally grey standpoint, and the player is supposed to debate with others on who is really the evil one.

Blizzard rips off whatever porn game or manga Metzen enjoyed at the time.

Literally Raiden vs Senator Armstrong

>antagonists turns out to be the best bro
>game ends with MC carrying him out on his own shoulders and helping him to finish what he started

>Villain is objectively right
>Hero opposes him for some half assed reason
>As it turns out, as if the game wills it, something unpredictably goes wrong in the villain's plan that makes his plan evil and the hero is now right.

The good ending of 2 was a copout.

>Implying sacrificing yourself for the greater good wasn't a great ending
>Implying Zeke's speech about humanity at the end wasn't emotional

come on user

>antagonist of first game is defeated, but not dead
>shows up in the sequel, but as a minor character
>he apologizes for what he did

What Cole did in the ending doesn't prevent something like the plague from ever occurring again. And what happens if it does occur again? The world is fucked.

Samuel Hayden did nothing wrong

>he has his own quest line where the two of you bro it up

Fuck me Letho was a cool dude

>Fallout 3
>finally meet Eden
>he wants to kill all the mutants plaguing the Capital Wasteland and spare everyone else
>this is somehow supposed to be villainous

Except that Armstrong's ideals were ultimately flawed. The world would devolve into a stone-age anarchy sthithole. The strongest are usually the ones most wrong in the brain or most jacked up on the cybernetics. The virtue of being the one with the most expensive chassis doesn't grant him the right to guide humanity correctly in any way shape or form. If anything having someone like that at the top would be detrimental to everyone else and that's exactly what would happen.

I honestly liked it.
Decent story, pretty good twists at the end.
They could've done more with it, but didn't because it wasn't on the ffxiii gravy train.

>Killing everyone who has been exposed to radiation is somehow heroic

But he was right. The world belongs to the strongest. Raiden proved that point by beating him and proving himself stronger so that he could keep the world under his own ideals instead of Armstrong's.

Don't deny this is a similar situation to what he described.

Literally logic and reason vs MUH FEELS, MUH WHITE PEOPLE ARE EVIL RACISTS

Everytime Sup Forums discuss politics and ideologies you couldn't find a higher concentration of fedora tipping retards who think in one path directions rather than considering everything about their decision and consequences. Everything here is a static equation of 1+1.

where's the official Sup Forumss list of villains that did nothing wrong?

Consider this argument user, it might sway your opinion
>THEY DINDU NUFFIN! THEY A GOOD MUTANT!

"Philosophically logical" usually just means sophistry or tautology. Most of the time it goes against basic morals and appeals to the weakest parts of the psyche.

This, Samuel Hayden was a boss. Also, teleporting the Doom Slayer back to hell (which I presume is what happened) isn't too much of a punishment for him. I mean what is he gonna do now that he's in the human dimension and has nothing to fight?

>Villain accidentally kills himself

Problem was it was going to kill literally everyone exposed to a substantial amount of radiation, eg almost the entire wasteland's population including humans.

>Sup Forums

It's apparent Walker is a fucking deluded piece of shit almost immediately, far before the twist even begins to transpire.

Name even a single game

Which is why it was good IMO, they set it up and it made a lot of sense in retrospect.

Gears of War

The Binding of Isaac

>Sup Forums

Same guy as
Also all of Assassin's Creed, ESPECIALLY 3.

Metal Gear Rising

Woah, woah.
Can you take down that picture of me?
Really would not like for it to be on Sup Forums.

>implying I would wear a fedora

That's for libcucks.

>big bad does something personal against the protagonist at the start of the game (kidnap his girlfriend, destroy his village, etc.)
>get stronger throughout the game, finally confront big bad
>bigger bad comes out of nowhere
>kills big bad for the lulz

Duck?
