P3 was pretty nice with its writing in that the Protags Arcana pretty much determined the whole setting of the plot and had a bunch of things built around and leading into what it was.... Then Persona 4 came along and just went fuck that.

P3 and P4's combat is miles ahead of P2's "spam fusion spell until the enemy's dead" gameplay.

So it'll have even more vapid social links; bad combat that is partially up to chance, even with tactics; a story that goes nowhere for more than just the middle of the game; an even worse set of villains; and a even more monotonous, singular dungeon?

P3 is great but FUCK man why is the pacing so bad? It just slams the breaks constantly in the second half. It'd be helpful if you could just fast forward through days entirely October on. And too much dungeon tagged on the end. When you play 4 golden it really sticks out because 4g gets great in November.

It had numerous options of what you could do throughout your stay in Inaba including getting a job, reading, and even more options. P3 was a pretty good life sim too, but the main focus was on improving yourself or doing social links without much variation, so I think P4 was a way better life sim.
