What went wrong?
What went wrong?
Name one good video game movie
one was modern a adam sandler movie and the other was a cash grab
angry birds
pfft, that wasn't hard at all
...
ill agree
it wasnt great but it wasnt bad
it was a kids movie anyways
street fighter
mortal kombat
The trailer was the most generic, cliche fantasy shit possible
Resident Evil
I liked it
Mortal Kombat was pretty good even if it was a bit campy. The sequels to it sucked though.
Ha ha disregard that I suck cocks
Doom
Postal
the guy who played shang tsung; the best
>it's the Rotten Tomatoes matters meme again
I get that the movie won't be that great, but holy shit can you try harder?
I never seen the original movie, but Legend of Chun-Li was fucking garbage. It's even worse than Dragon Ball Evolution.
I thought Warcraft was pretty decent
I really dont understand why people are shitting so hard on it. Its not great but far, far better than pixels or Batman vs Superman
sanic
It's better than two terrible movies
I guess that's a plus
Mortal Kombat (first movie), Silent Hill, and the first two RE movies.
Wreck it Ralph
Street Fighter was pretty fun. I think the director really tried to put every character possible, but most of them acted as minions. Make that as you will.
Without a doubt my pick
Hardly counts as a video game movie.
Was more like a movie about fucking candy advertisements, but with the occasional video game reference.
He's a big bad
can't.
Metal Gear Solid 4, oh wait, it wasn't actually that good :^)
YOUR
Ace attorney
mortal kombat is campy.
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa this guy still alive and acting in movies
Mortal Kombat 3 when?
By the unlikeliest of chances, Polygon has a good breakdown of how the movie came to be what it is.
for you
IS
this seems like the only way to make a halfway decent video game movie. all this live action rubbish needs to go.
also, I seem to remember there being decent CG RE movies.
>Average Rating: 4.2/10
>Average Rating: 3.8/10
The tomamtometer really only counts what percentage of reviews are positive.
Unpopular opinion here. I think that videogame movies will never get high on the tomatometer because critics just don't like the style of them.
All these examples are no-brainer action movies, and critics are tired of those. That's why they always score low.
SOUL
TRON: Legacy
Thoughts?
FUCK
If it ain't 2D animated then you can get out of my face.
Rotten tomatoes isn't the oscars though. You still see "fun" with high scores.
You don't need the movie to be about a orphan transexual who has a two legged dog and half estranged brother, whos mother was a holocaust survivor and a lesbian.
Real actors is what went wrong.
The full CGI scenes were so strong. The orcs were really entertaining. The real actors were less convincing than the fucking 3D fake green men. Come the fuck on.
>street
weren't there good SF anime movies?
I thought pixels was kinda good, but I went to one of those full service theatres and got a cocktail at my leather recliner, so maybe I just liked the experience more than the movie.
Either way I get to see the war craft movie for free as my friend owns a movie theatre, so w.e
Don't worry, it's in good hands
King kong
Warcraft was good and general public seems to like it at least here in Russia.
>28 critics defended Pixels
King Kong?
What games would made a good non-action movie?
>Fox
It's fucked.
>live action
why?
just gonna be some shitty iron man clone.
I've heard somewhere that vidya movies are bad because they take away the biggest part of a video game, the interactive experience.
So, will there never be a truly good and memorable video game movie?
>inb4 angry birds
Jackie Chan
Megaman: Evolution
Rock Smith was an average high school student, in love with a girl way out of his league.
>Hurr hurr Rock, you are no good for Roll, for I James Gutsman, the highschool jock is dating her.
Featuring: Michael Cera as Rock, and Megan Fox as Jessica Roll
>Sorry Rock, you are just not my type but we can be friends XD
>Oh she put you into the friendzone, that's cold man
Also Featuring Jonah Hill as IceMan
All I feel is pain.
i liked spirits within
en.wikipedia.org
legitimately good film
surviving on my own
this. do you want a live action version of this?
...
I think you meant to say "good game based on a movie" in which case you are dead on. I'd buy an HD Remake of peter jacksons king kong game
It's okay guys, fuck the movie, we still have this coming our way; au.ign.com
The franchise is dead and yet capcom finds way to shit on any megaman fan left.
I can see meeting with people at capcom trying their best to fuck with megaman fans.
>hey let's tease MML3 again, and then cancel it a month away from its release.
>No, lets say we are consulting with Concept for a new megaman game after MN9 reviews flood in
>Better, let a Western Studio handle the franchise
>Oh wait, how about we announce a movie...and let western studios handle it
>Perfect.
Warcraft
>2 minutes of cutscenes extended into a movie
Pixels
>Casuals remembering 80s gaming with Adam Sandler's attempts of being funny
Looks like fair rating to me.
This is correct
that Sonya looks like a generic porn star
what about AC?
>Astro Boy
Never heard of him, I'm assuming it's shit?
I used to like this a lot as a kid and the intro song got me hella pumped
Bowie's son is a disgrace
AC wasn't good until the Complete version with more blood and stabbing
Films I enjoyed:
Mortal Kombat
SF
Tekken
Dead or Alive
Prince of Persia
Films Critics enjoyed:
Lego Movie?
Kino:
spirits with in.
Postal was a real piece of shit, actually.
>man of action
>more shitty ameranime
>never heard of astro boy
I just seen Warcraft on Sunday and I hate it so much. Why did they change the lore? Medivh and first war already had 10/10 story that could be a great movie. I'm so fucking mad.
Game was based off the movie, I'm pretty sure.
The original tron. Not tron legacy.
At least we might get more megaman geams if it goes well
Warcraft sucks as it deviates too much from the source material what with adding dindu orcs who weren't around Warcraft 1, Dalaran already floating etc.
Prince of Persia.
At this point an Overwatch movie looks more attractive than the Warcraft one.
Too bad blizzard can't write for shit.
I wish they'd outsource MM to a western dev. nothing to lose at this point. no, actually I'd love a MM game done by platinum in the vein of MGR. since we're probably not getting a mgr sequel.
based Ancel
The first and last 10 minutes of this movie were solid Astro Boy.
The middle 90 minutes or so was shit.
MGSV
More like desu
>Warcraft movie with the AMAZING story made by Blizzard full of CGI
>Another HILARIOUS Adam Sandler "comedy"
Warcraft? Probably nothing it's going to make all its money in China which I'm sure was Blizzard's objective.
Gonna flop ridiculously hard in the US though.
I really like the silent hill movies
Modern Warfare 2
BASE
DUUUUUUB
I need to watch this again
youtube.com
Wreck It Ralph is a genuinely good video game movie
Prove me wrong
this movie was actually damn good, I was shocked
Angry Birds is actually pretty good.
no argument here
Movie critics who know nothing about the game and go into it expecting Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones and not getting that.
