Not him, I kind of like it myself but I understand your own thoughts and feelings.
The original Cloud outfit was fairly simply and looked believably like a some former JRPG soldier.
This, you gotta remember: it had been years, so it's actually kind of nice Cloud had an outfit changed, though personally, I feel like if it were up to me, I might have removed the sleeve but kept the single pauldron, maybe kept the hardworn, leather-brown boots with pants tucked in from his old design.
It's purely amazing, huh?
I feel like a damn teenager for saying this, but Altair has one of my favorite character designs.
It's elegant but remains fairly simple. Something I feel got lost with later Assassin outfits.
