>gen 6 was so shit GF is already ditching it for gen 7
How bad will gen 7 be?
Can it be even more casualized and watered down than gen 6?
>gen 6 was so shit GF is already ditching it for gen 7
How bad will gen 7 be?
Can it be even more casualized and watered down than gen 6?
I'm having a faint light of hope with Sun&Moon, those little details like Rotom being the fucking Pokedex, the QR code stuff, Lillie and Prof Kukui designs, also the protags don't look like shit this time (godammit ORAS Brendan and XY Male MC were awful)
Also the new tropical setting looks like a fresh breath of air in a franchise that's becoming more and more stale
I'm still pirating them btw, won't gonna risk my hard earned money like I did with fucking ORAS
Careful with those memes bro
You are complaining about a game made for 8 year-olds being casualized.
>>gen 6 was so shit GF is already ditching it for gen 7
By that logic, Gen 5 was also shit since it lasted the same amount of time
Gen 5: September 2010 - October 2013
Gen 6: October 2013 - November 2016
3 years and one month for both.
I don't get the hate for ORAS it was better than B&W or D&P
Honestly I'm glad. Know I don't have to fight of the temptation of not buying the first game to simply wait for the improved 3rd.
Not really. It fixed nothing about Hoenn's problems and it wasn't even better than Emerald.
Gen 7 is definitely going to be really really bad, they're just doing everything they can to fuck it up. Hawaii, horrible character designs the most generic fire started I have ever seen, etc.
They can't pull a gen 5 because they're not even trying
This is going to be gen 4 all over again, but with none of the improvements
If the Fire starter isn't Fire/Fighting it can be salvaged.
But it fixed everything wrong with Hoenn
>too much water
Faster surfing and a minimap
>bad pokemon variety
The dex is expanded
>less content than emerald
Objectively false. Tired of this meme.
The lack of battle frontier puts it drastically behind emerald in terms of content you fucking delusional retard.
>faster surfing fixes the 3 water-related HMs meme
>he thinks surfing speed was the problem
Hoenn didn't have too much water. For a water region, you don't spend enough time surfing in ORAS.
I don't need the crappy later gen Pokémon, the first three generation Pokémon are still the best.
Even if you count shit like the Rayquaza story, all of that "extra content" was still worse than the Battle Frontier.
They already ruined the game with megas, don't know how they can fuck up even worse.
I liked ORAS, more than BW and XY.
>dissing gen 4
>the gen that gave us Platinum and HG/SS
Gen 5 was shit until B2W2 redeemed it.
Well I don't think they copied digimon enough yet soo.... BURST MEGAS WHEN?
Fusion between trainer and Pokémon, like Ash-Greninja.
>don't know how they can fuck up even worse
Ask and you will receive
>already
it lasted fucking forever
Aren't these pretty much megas anyway?
Not
>ash and you will receive
>we didn't even get a Z
And the presence of online battles trumps anything the gimmick frontier ever offered, dumbass.
Gen 7 had no reason to exist, though.
3DS architecture and online is fine enough for gen 6.
They never bothered making X2Y2 or a third version of it.
They're just ditching this gen already.
Thank god they're ditching gen 6.
I couldn't deal with even more chibi hugemclargehead character designs in the overworld.
Sun Moon is the literal exact same shit.
ikr?
Will ash and greninja be able to hold out against the perfect form zygarde?
Found out next time on pokemon Z!
>Guitar plays
>tfw I bought Y day one, wondertraded and got a bad egg immediately
Farewell Gen 6
Have you even seen the trailer or are you literally blind?
One thing that I liked about ORAS was the Eon Flute mostly due to the fact that it was the beginning of replacing an HM with an item which personally I would like to see more of.
I think they need to remove the EZMODE exp share and instead give you the classic EXP share from Gen 1-5 early on normally and then give you the advanced EXP share from gen 6 in the post game. Just beat ORAS and due to EXP share I had a full team of lv 70+ pokemon by the time I hit the elite four
I liked the anime as fuck ORAS Delta Episode but I beat it in an afternoon, personally I would have really wanted to see a Battle Frontier, I mean they did it in HGSS!
They need to keep dexnav since that was an amazing addition, however, knowing Game Freak they will drop it just like every other great addition to these games that they leave behind
I do find it odd though that they are completely dropping out of Gen 6 without releasing a Z version though.
He looks pretty bro-tier for a legendary
I can play on pokemon showdown if i want online battles you stupid mongoloid.
>XY babbies think this is a well designed Pokémon
Agree about the HM replacement and EXP Share. You get EXP so early into the game there is no point in really starting with low levels and swapping with high levels to level them up faster. Or going to early zones to level up.
They have so many required-to-progress HMs its annoying to need a water pokemon with Waterfall, Dive, and Surf. Someone with Strength and Rocksmash. Someone with Cut and Someone with Fly.
A full on replacement via items or just less fucking level designed built around using HMs. Also, can we get an easy access for them. Surf is really annoying to use sometimes. Surf Y/N->Get off and grab one item. Surf Y/N -> Travel on water till you get off again. All showing that dumb ass animation
>I can just go play a different game
Excellent argument.
Beyond the no Battle Frontier shit (which was fucking lame), ORAS was fantastic. Why do you people even care? Its not like you even play the games or bother with competitive pokemon.
>trips
How ironic
>There are like 4 of these "is just a fused version of the starter" in gen 1
>ORAS was fantastic
>I liked the anime as fuck ORAS Delta Episode but I beat it in an afternoon, personally I would have really wanted to see a Battle Frontier, I mean they did it in HGSS!
No, they did it in Platinum and copied it over in HGSS.
Gen 6 had only one set of games, X and Y. Gen 5 had two sets of games, B&W and B2&W2. You don't count remakes as part of the gen. Every gen had at least two sets of games, except 6.
>Using online that will be shut down in a few years and is shit as an argument for more content
Cool story retard. There isnt even 6 on 6 single battle random matchmaking. Its fucking trash.
I completly lost my intrest in gen6 when Nintendo was lazy as fuck and didn't patch new megas for X&Y
Yeah you really proved me wrong bro.
>dexnav
>massive pokedex
>huge amount of secrets and areas to explore
>huge region with diverse routes
>fantastic postgame E4
>strongest postgame rival in the series
>battle resort literally perfect for competitive breeding/hatching/raising with everything right there
I bet your team doesn't even have perfect IVs.
>some people actually liked Delta episode
What the fuck
What a shame that you can't even grasp the core concept of Pokemon--communicating with others. Of course you'd scream "less content" when you can't experience it. I would too if I was in your position.
Guess it can't be helped in your case.
Oh yeah I forgot they also did it in Platinum
But it shows how easily they could transfer that stuff over if they really wanted to...
I understand the whole selecting to use a move thing for Surf and for rock smash. They did make it better for Strength though.
Also, I disagree about making the game less focused on HMs but I do think that a few gyms after getting access to using that HM that they should give you an item alternative
That Deoxys fight was the hypest shit. Having actually gotten one at an event back in junior high, it was fun nostalgia hearing the battle theme again.
Also cute crazy dragon girl with nice battle music.
Me. It was like Sonic Adventure 2.
>But it shows how easily they could transfer that stuff over if they really wanted to...
From what, fucking 4th gen games? They already "transferred" the maison, that was GF's lazy way of providing postgame.
At least the coop battling was fun, and the battle resort was a nice step up, but it was still weak compared to a frontier.
Literally all the girls were lusting after your dick if you were the guy in that game
So many times I was thinking May was going to say I love you or something during it.
I almost felt bad steamrolling her team with a single pokemon due to how my team was 20 levels higher than hers.
Also, Gen 6 had a thing about battling a trainer after beating the elite 4 didn't it...
Platinum Battle frontier kinda sucked though, only the Battle factory was worth anything
>Also, Gen 6 had a thing about battling a trainer after beating the elite 4 didn't it...
I didn't mind it. You guys can jerk off over Emerald all you want (and Emerald is fucking awesome), but holy shit they really improved your rivals in ORAS. Back in RSE, Brendan/May didn't even fucking evolve their starter all the way.
Also ORAS Wally is top tier.
>You don't count remakes as part of the gen. Every gen had at least two sets of games, except 6.
Gameboy had gen 1 and 2 RGBY, GSC
GBA had gen3 RSE
DS had gen 4 and 5 DPPt, BW and BW2
3DS has gen6 XY
I'm confused here
If there is something X/Y did right, it was a battle against a professor.
Wasn't that amazing but its odd they never test your teams compatibility or composition with a battle
Gen 1: Set 1: Red/Green/Blue. Set 2: Yellow.
Gen 2: Set 1: Gold/Silver. Set 2: Crystal.
Gen 3: Set 1: Ruby/Sapphire. Set 2: Emerald.
Gen 4: Set 1: Diamond/Pearl. Set 2: Platinum.
Gen 5: Set 1: Black/White. Set 2: B2/W2.
Gen 6: Set 1: X/Y.
Gen 7: Set 1: Sun/Moon.
They dropped gen 6 early compared to other gens.
I agree that the Platinum Battle Frontier was lacking on some fronts, it needed the sheer variety that was in the Emerald BF.
I mean you had exploration in the pyramid, luck in the Pike, and just good old battling in the tower
There was a bit for everyone.
Gen 6 had some top tier rival personalities. Even in X and Y it is just you crushing Serena's hopes and dreams and ORAS had amazing rivals. The music was also top tier
That's because you're literally retarded.
Gen 1 had R/G/B and then Yellow
Gen 2 had G/S then Crystal
Gen 3 had R/S then Emerald
Gen 4 had D/P then Platinum
Gen 5 had B/W then B2/W2
Gen 6 only has X/Y
>I think they need to remove the EZMODE exp share and instead give you the classic EXP share from Gen 1-5 early on normally and then give you the advanced EXP share from gen 6 in the post game.
Or...you could just not use it. But you call EZMODE and then proceed to use it for the whole game, that's fucking hilarious. Never used it and i was like 7 levels behind the first E4, just like in XY i was 10 levels behind.
>Pokemon's not allowed to be hard because it was never hard
The fact that people defend Gamefreak, the literal laziest of devs, is baffling to me.
>Playing a bit of Y again to see if I'd like it anymore
>It's still boring as fuck, but I noticed something
It really bothers me just how convenient the world is to the player.
Oh wow, you're the 10,001 customer, answer this literal braindead child question and you get a free bike!
Oh hey, you can have this Lucario I guess, did I mention it can Mega evolve? Have fun destroying the rest of the game.
Good thing everyone only has like 2-4 Pokemon and never a max of six, plus they're all shit and have bad movesets, pfft, who needs challenge in an RPG?
While that is a bullshit excuse, "Pokemon needs to be hard because it was never hard" is also really dumb.
/vp/ is that way OP
>every Pokemon game: the post
wow user, you're really fuckin' stupid
At least the older games had some fucking semblance of challenge in the late game, now you can faceroll everything and not have to worry about using any other Pokemon because your entire team gets EXP.
Gamefreak just needs to put in multiple saves and a hard mode option and people would stop complaining. Even an NG+ mode with randomizers could make the game drastically different.
Is it that time again?
Gens: 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 6 > 1
>At least the older games had some fucking semblance of challenge in the late game
Hahhahahaha, yeah okay dude. Whatever you choose to believe in.
>now you can faceroll everything and not have to worry about using any other Pokemon because your entire team gets EXP.
Just like i didn't even need a team back then because i could just use my overleveled starter and a lv3 Pidgey to fly around.
I like you,
> 4>3
Nah.
2 is better than 3. Spot on otherwise.
>too much water
ign pls
gen 4 was hard. kinda
>Platinum was hard. kinda
ftfy
DP are just as pathetically easy as any other game.
Seems about right.
The surfing speed wasn't the problem, it was needing more than just Surf on your team. HM dumps are a pain as it is. The dex variety would naturally be expanded, that was expected. Aside from online battles, which are also expected, it didn't have more content.
Gen 3 is my favourite, but ORAS did nothing for me. It felt much smaller and was a lot easier. It was a very basic remake, a lot of us wanted more from it.
HGSS>BW2>platinum>emerald>BW>FR/LG>outdated versions.
>How bad will gen 7 be?
don't care
i bought BOTH ruby and Y and they were garbage
>every gen VI Pokemon game: the post
Fixed.
play super mystery dungeon if you want a challenge you colossal faggot
pokemon's battle system is fucking terrible, and the only semblance of challenge comes from RNG and not being high level enough
>listen to a furry talk about pokemon
>get bike for free
>hey do you want this Dratini with a powerful move that shits on every other trainer in the game for free
>Good thing everyone only has like 2-4 Pokemon and never a max of six, plus they're all shit and have bad movesets, pfft, who needs challenge in an RPG?
Yeah, totally not the same.
Platinum gym battles are really fucking tough if you're leveling an entire party of 6.
>WAHHHH game for 4-5 year old are so easy! why wont gamefrak let me be hardcore!?
i admit, a hard mode would not hurt the game but, complaining the game is easy is pathetic
This is just embarrassing.
I still haven't heard anyone give a good objective reason why Mega "ruined" Pokémon.
>copying Digimon
Oh no, temporary super forms. No work of entertainment has ever done that before.
>specific ones are OP
That's not at all a unique feature of Megas, and if you don't believe me you clearly don't remember what Garchomp did to the meta when it debuted.
>bad designs
Because Pokémon designs were airtight before that. A lot of the Megas only make benign visual changes, and a few even improve on the originals.
They add an extra layer of strategy by forcing you to limit yourself to only one "full-power" party member and open up all kinds of possibilities for mind games.
What? That a D/P gym leader is using Gen 1 rock pokemon or that a gym battle has 2 pokemon only?
I never understood why they never get to 4-5 till much later. By 30 minutes into the game the main character is running around with 6.
...
Yeah, Roark is kind of sad.
>battling on the actual pokemon carts
Autism.
Anyone with the brain to realize that it's a fucking waste to spend the hours raising pokemon uses battle sims where you just plug in some numbers.
i remember carnidos was pushing my shit pretty hard even when i had a water typ with me.
Discussion of Pokémon video games is allowed on Sup Forums, dipshit.
You don't even battle a full team until the champion.
>b-b-buh the new games aren't EASIER DELETE THIIIIS
How will gen VI shitters defend this?
Copying older games makes it easier.
You don't even get to have Gym Leader rematches in ORAS.
What a fucking shit game.
...
im a stupid or did normal trainers carry less pokemon with them after gen 3? there were so many times you faced of against trainers with 1-3 Pokemon tops and only brought out 4+ pokemon until you reach victory road.
how did you do rematches again in emerald?
