Ok

I PLAY POT OF GREED

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS DOES?

I DON'T THINK YOU DO THEREFORE I SHALL REMIND YOU

IT ALLOWS ME TO DRAW 2 CARDS FROM THE VERY UPPERMOST OF MY DECK AND ADD THEM TO THE CARDS I AM HOLDING IN MY HAND I WILL THEN PROCEED TO PLACE POT OF GREED CARD IN THE GRAVEYARD AREA

i'm not totally clear on what pot of greed does. Can you explain again?

PIKC UP THE TOP CARD FROM YOUR DECK TNE DEVK IS TE BIG PILE OF CARDS ON THE TABLE INFRONT OF YOU YOU THEN PUIT THE CARD IN TO YOUR HAND

THEN YOU PICK UP ANOTHER CADR FROM THE TOP OF THE DEK, THEN PLAC THIS CARD INTO YOUR HAND

AND THEN YOU PUT THE POT OF GREEED INT OT THE PILE OF CARDS YOU ARE ND ALLOWD TO USE ANYMRO ITS CALLED A GRAVEYRD

>battlehardened warriors in a war-torn land, struggling to survive
>stop whatever they're doing to play children's card games

ayy lmao

How does gwent make any sense? Who the hell made a card of ciri or geralt? I thought no one knew about ciri

SPY CARD
P
Y

C
A
R
D

well you explained a little better this time but I am still confused about this pottery that is somehow containing greed.

Okay and then ???

>tfw really tempted to buy the cards somewhere online but I kind of don't have the money right now

WHAT DO

I'D HAVE NO ONE TO PLAY THEM WITH ANYWAY

...

Same way Triple Triad made sense

It doesn't work on unique cards you dummy

I will play 6 spy cards the first round and give you the first win. Second round I'll slam some cards that double each others strength and then third round I'll spam hero cards.

Oh now i get it.

I PLAY MYSTERIOUS ELF

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS DOES?

THIS CARD ALLOWS ME TO DRAW 2 MORE CARDS FROM THE TOP OF MY DECK AND PLACE THEM IN MY HAND IMMEDIATELY

YOUR MOVE GERALT

isnt mysterious elf the same thing

mfw I never got him ;_;

Fucking hell m8, I never finished that game when I was 11 but I sure as fuck played against Zell's mom for all of Saturday morning.

Besides I really like the polish version of Scorch and the description more.

Anyway, anyone here won the Gwent tournament in Toussaint? How hard was it going only Skellige set? I found it a bit bullshit that I can't use my strongest set, but gonna try it sooner or later.

What about the fact Gwent apparently is an ancient game, and the mere thought of introducing a a new deck to spice up the game is reason to riot

whats this gotta do with pot of greed though?

I play the Ace of Spades, in attack mode.

It's basically the same thing but with a different name.

You play it, draw 2 cards. That's it.

I just beat it last night, far easier than I had anticipated. If you can beat Dijkstra and the Druid and the other big names leading up to it you'll be in great shape. Have some decoys, spies, and some scorches and you'll be set. Be prepared for a level 27 fist fight as well.

I USE DECOY, ALLOWING ME TO RETURN THE MYSTERIOUS ELF TO MY HAND, THEN I PLAY MYSTERIOUS ELF MYSELF, ALLOWING ME TO DRAW 2 MORE CARDS.

GAUNTER I CHOOSE YOU!

HIT THEM WITH YOUR MIRROR MOVE

>opponent uses a spy
>then another spy
>then another spy
>then uses a decoy card to take a spy you placed on their field

Every time.

Can't decoy hero cards.

What is the strongest faction to build around in Gwent? I'm assuming either Northern Realms or Nilfgaard.

it was pretty tough, I found that I had to change my cards each round. you cant save in between like the other tourney.
irony, I tried so many times and failed, then save scummed it. quit for the night, woke up the next day and said fuck it win or lose I will just carry on, and won all 4 matches no problem.

skellege set is pretty shit, but they rely upon cards that bring others from the deck and weather cards. so you defiantly need the king that gives you half damage in weather.

after the tourney just stick with northern realms

>tfw Jaden didn't explain what pot of greed does in his duel vs Crowley

In terms of pure strength? From my personal experiences northern realms is. Those catapults that are at base 8 strength and double each time another one added can really add up.

Northen Realm siege is god tier

>tfw you place even more spy cards
>tfw he places a spy card and you grab it from the field
>tfw you outspy the motherfucker

>Gaunter card doesn't summon shadow Gaunter cards
>there's only one human Gaunter card in the game
Why.

>tfw you run out of cards because to many spies

>Gwent tournament in Toussaint

I know man sorry, I just woke up.

Northern realms, I've been using it for about all of the game and after getting enough uniques and all the spy cards it becomes a walk in the park every single time.

I just gathered the 19 cards for the quest. Gonna try today, first obviously gonna train the set and find the optimal "build" for it on some random people

it does summon the other gaunter cards, but they don't summon him.
I used these cards in the toussaint tourney

>Gaunter card doesn't summon shadow Gaunter cards
But thats wrong, Gaunter card muster all the shadow cards in your deck and hand, unless they have been played already, the shadows dont summon Gaunter though

>opponent has monster deck
>blow all their monsters in the melee line because the majority of the monsters are melee
>either let them win the round because they blew their load and will lose the next two rounds automatically or use the frost effect and win the round if I have superior numbers

Monster deck a shit in AI hands.

>tfw when you can only occasionally win in Gwent in the easiest setting.

>"optimal "build"
Dropping all the siege cards and only keeping one of the mushrom cards worked for me

>they use all the cards on melee
>you only used melee spy cards too
>frost them
>scorch
>all of their cards get fucking wrecked, place a random card and win the round
>second round starts with you having 10+ and them having less than 5

Monsters a shit

Don't forget scorch also fucks monster decks

i wish the game told you what deck your opponent was running so you could adjust it. it isn't really a problem for other decks but skellige needs some tuning now and then depending on what you're against.

>Gonna try today
If you got the gaunter o dimm cards add them to the pack. you need cerys and the shield maidens too, also I wouldn't worry to much about the berserker cards, they are not as helpful as they seem.
the 0 card (and the cow if you got it in HoS) are useful because skelleges style is about getting to round 3 where they draw 2 cards.
weather cards too

swap your summon cards at the beginning, so you only have one of each, save them until the 3rd round, try to bait them in using all their top cards.

wasn't as easy as I thought it was especially after a year of playing a certain tactic.
least you can play the majorodomo for free for practice and set the deck he uses

King Bran is a definite must for the game, you're right, but I had no trouble using Skellige. Just know that the most interesting cards, the berserkers, are absolute trash and a waste of valuable deck space.

Exactly it, their ability that pulls all their monsters out of their deck within a few card places absolutely wrecks them while you stall with junk cards.

Plus winter is a hard counter. Some of the faction powers are guaranteed winters I think too?

Pretty sure I went NR 80% of my matches, switching to Milfguards after getting enough spies and heroes.

>the berserkers, are absolute trash and a waste of valuable deck space.
yea that is what I found.
there best unique card is cerys, that is basically 25 with the 3 shield maidens, and the unique weather card they get does good for saving weather card space.

still shit tier gwent faction

>running out of cards by using cards that give you 2 additional cards

For the tournament I didn't even bother with the Weather card. The best strategy is to bait the AI into using most of his cards the first two rounds, because you are guaranteed two unit cards at the beginning of the third round.

I SUMMON THE UNSTOPPABLE 4 CARD IN ATTACK MODE

YOUR TURN KAIBA

i play skellige more often now just for cerys. she's easily the best hero card in the game.

Came here to post this

>your dick when frost/scorch combo

...

>playing Northern Kingdoms
>somehow only get 1 spy card in the starting round
>use it
>it pulls two more spy cards right away

Oh you have 6 blue stripes commandos out? Would be a real shame if they suffered a little accident

>Four spies
>Two decoys
>Two ressurection cards
>Playing against Nilfgard or Northen realms
Done it several times

move over faggots, best card comming thru

That card saved my ass so many times

I kept laughing in baw whenever someone said "I play the best deck there is!" And pulls a scoiatel deck

>Game starts
>Opponents keeps setting creature with Muster
>5 turns in
>His melee line has over 10 creature, total around 50 points
>I have a whopping 15
>"Opponent has passed"
>Play Winter
>Scores are now 10 against 15
>End turn

i don't think you can even have 6 in the first place.

nice shieldmaidens

just finished the Gwent Skellige deck tournament

jesus fucking christ playing skellige against skellige in the last (or 2nd to last) round is fucking painful

I probably shouldn't have been a lazy shit and finished off the deck before I did it, but I was only 2 unique cards short (one of them was Cerys though, who is amazing)

general thoughts on skellige deck? it's kinda interesting, but it feels like there are a lot of cards that require synergy, and it has no spies outside of mysterious elf, so it's possible to get a really bad hand that is utterly useless

I either have six or five on my current geralt

>Would be a real shame if they suffered a little accident
kek
this card is a god tier card

Its amazing how many of the in-game "high level" players play that deck

NILFGAARD MASTER RACE!

>implying i won't bait out scorches or intentionally gimp them with a weather card

>play northern realms deck
>opponent is nilfgaard deck
>no spies played through entire match

>25
Don't you mean 57

I generally go Northern for my deck, but I've used scoiatael once of twice

you can either run it with weather cards (because most of the deck can be either ranged or melee, so you adjust for whatever weather card you drew), or you can use the muster cards like hakevar smugglers to ambush the last round

the deck I refuse to play is nilfgaard
the spies buff the opponent too much, and there are a LOT of nilfgaard cards that have low attack ratings unless there are 2 or more of the same type

The difference is Triple Triad isn't shit.

>Toussaint tournament
>Beat the monster deck
>Struggled against the Nilfgard deck
>Destroyed the skellige deck
>Dwarf comes in acting like a big shot player
>"oh fuck, he is probably gonna play Northen Realms"
>What deck Master Dwarf?
>Sco'iatel! With smuggest smile possible
>mfw

thats why you use up all your spy cards first and throw the first round afterwards.

>play against monster deck
>load up on frost and scorch cards and pry

>the spies buff the opponent too much,
that is why you use them all in the same round, the first, and bait them into taking them with their decoys, then sending them back to you or loose the first round with a superior hand.
exactly the same what you should do if you are playing against the nilf with the northern

>beat everyone in the tournament easy
>have to savescum and do 8 attempts at the skellige deck
>finally do it
>"oh shit I forgot theres another fight, oh fuck, if I lose now and have to do it all again"
>"I PLAY SCOIATAEL!"
>mfw

>Beat High Stakes
>No one to play anymore

This game would've been so much better with a betting structure.

yeah but I can do that with my northern deck and have a much better chance of getting 3 blue stripes, 8-strength catapults, etc

it feels like the spy investment has never been worth it when I play nilfgaard, but I ALWAYS end up with strong stuff for my northern deck if I spy it up; and because of cards like thaler, it feels like I can still win a round even if I throw spies at them

Sco'iatel is such a worthless deck its sad. me and a friend made up a new rule that allows you to pick up a card at the beginning with the deck just to give it a chance.

nilfgaard has greatest spy potency out of their abillity to just grab your own spies from enemy graveyards.

>3 blue stripes, 8-strength catapults, etc

enjoy getting frost, rain and scorch on you.

As has happened in every war since war began.

I usually have the foltest card to clear weather, or the one to commander horn the siege, and I have enough decoys for years

so it means I can put out a single synergy card to bait weather, then recall it and pass the round, or keep throwing units ont he weather effect, my opponent is too stupid to realise that the moment he passes I'm gonna clear the weather and win the round easy

gwant is the shit. even when your village gets burned down and your neighbors, mother, sisters and daughters are getting raped, a good gwant match will always sheers you up.

What do you do?

>Northern realms
>Fill deck with spies and decoys
>Play spies
>Enemy uses decoys and plays them back
>Use my own decoys and play them again

Eventually I end up with a huge card advantage. Easy modo

I forgot who it was but there's a character you can play during a plot segment
there's some urgent shit going on where every second counts and Geralt is "stop it's gwent time, I have to finish my deck"

Forcefully shove them aside.

>i got a gwant problem

Is gwent too imbalanced in real life to become a genuine competitive thing? We do have 4 gwent decks to buy now after all so why not start making it a thing

I have the commander horn on the seige and play no weather cards.
loads of decoys so I have a chance of getting one and getting their spies and using them for more cards.
I never lose

Its pretty unbalanced, although shit like limiting hero cards in some way is a good start.
Also add spy cards to other factions

>Regis' strength is 5
>despite him being a literal god
Explain this, gwentbabs.
